I'm curious about how playlists work, whether they be on a Zune or a PC, such as Windows Media Player or the Zune Software... When a playlist is created, is a copy of the song made? eg, the playlist has it's "own" copy of the songs in the playlist? OR, does it just "bookmark" where each song in its list is, and play it from there? Thanks!
Are there any open source/freeware tools that allow to upload via the tool to YouTube?
A queue would be a big plus but not a requirement.
Before y'all vote for close: I'm not asking for any help regarding YouTube but for a tool, a software, an application to upload stuff from my pc without using firefox.

I have a Mac Pro running Leopard and a RCA to USB cable and a VCR. I'm trying to figure out the best way to capture VHS tapes onto my computer using what I have. I cannot seem to find video capturing software for Macs that would do this through USB, especially for cheap or free, or with the ability to capture in MPEG2 format.
Does anyone have directions/suggestions?
I'm using the Wifi Analyzer app on my phone a lot at the moment as I need to set up and test some wireless networks. For people unfamiliar with the app, i've posted some screenshots of the app that I found on the internet.
I'm looking for some software that will do the same or similar thing, but on a PC. I've looked on Google, but could not find anything of use.
Thanks in advance for any information.
I've just recently purchased a USB wi-fi adapter and have been using the software (for Windows XP) that comes with it to search for and connect to networks, but it's really quite slow and featureless. Are there free/OSS alternatives for Windows XP that can I can replace it with? Preferably something that can, in addition to connecting/searching for wireless networks, display stats like signal strength and transfer speeds on graphs so I can better monitor the quality of my connection?
I got this software that requires adobe AIR, I've installed it and I keep getting this corrupt file message:
AdobeAIRInstaller.exe - Corrupt File
The file or directory C:\$Mft is corrupt and unreadable.
Please run the Chkdsk utility
Not sure what to do and where to find this utility..
Thanks
Does anyone know what keyboard shortcuts work with the latest Zune Desktop software (I believe it is v4.7)? I am particularly interested in something which helps in navigation and search.
Also, I've noticed that if I select the leftmost column (Artists/Genres only) and start typing I get a kind of instant search. Does anyone know if -
there is a way to invoke this without selecting the first column
use it with the album and song view
I've got a computer that's stuck on the main screen asking me for the administrator password.
I think that there is software that can help you recover or change passwords on an XP machine.
Does anyone know or can recommend one?
Our company is looking to replace our dated issue management software, currently evaluating Atlassian JIRA which is a fantastic issue management system. However our current issue management system also has asset management.
Could someone recommend and asset management plugin to JIRA or a different system?
Is there a software or program that lets me SMS/text for free to cell phones and gives me a phone number to distribute to let people text my computer? all this for free? running Windows. Thanks!
I'm looking for music player software that I can install on a 4GB thumb drive, it has to be small (so I have more room for music) and use as little system resources as possible. If it was compatible with Linux and Windows that would be great, but if not I would prefer it be compatible with Windows.
I have been looking around, but I do not have time to try out every option available, so I thought this would be a good place to get some help. So what are some of the best options?
I'm trying to convert a .dv video from a camcorder to flash video to show on my organization's website. I'm having issues using VLC (the file ends up empty or not compressed, depending on different options), so I either need help with VLC or other recommendations. If you're recommending software, it absolutely must be free. (My organization is non-profit)
Thanks
I am looking for a good DVD ripper software for Windows. Looking for something that will easily rip the raw bits DVD to hard drive without any loss of quality.
Looking for something that will easily copy the VOB files to a server location for use with the Window Media Center DVD Library feature.
I have a zip file here, and i want to determine how it was compressed (the specific algorithm, properties used to apply that algorithm, etc.). What software can do this for me?

I want a program which gives all information relating to a currently running process. In Windows, there is procman .
Whats the alternative in LINUX?
Do i have to use tools like strace etc seperately, or there is one program that does all.
Do share if you know of a nice software.
I'm thinking of a software that comes with pc decrapifier. Which can do the exact opposite of what pc decrapifier can do.
Install a number of applications in one click.
Is there an application like that? Not a web app please, I already know of that but I forgot the name, so if you know that please comment.
anyone know which would be the better route to go for multiple checking accounts in multiple banks?
I hear so much bad stuff about the quicken software.
I've recorded some music from an internet radio stream. I want to split it into separate audio tracks, preferably automatically (where ever there's a pause, or using some other clever algo). Anyone know of some free software that can do this?
I've always wanted some cool way to log into Windows like inserting a designated USB or voice recognition. Only recently did I discover http://www.luxand.com/blink/ which uses facial recognition to log into your PC.
What other software lets you change the way you log in?
When I use Earphones, I feel that my system output is very low, I have set all the volume output to maximum in "control panel\Sounds and Audio devices", but still not satisfactory. May be my earphones output proportionality is lower.
No problem with sub-woofer, I think its because of the amplifier.
Is there any software to boost up system volume output to compensate ?
