    I'd like my application to query a csv file from a secure website. I have no experience with web programming so I'd appreciate detailed instructions. Currently I have the user login to the site, manually query the csv, and have my application load the file locally. I'd like to automate this by having the user enter his login information, authenticating him on the website, and querying the data. The application is written in C# .NET. The url of the site is: https://www2.emidas.com/default.asp. I've tested the following code already and am able to access the file once the user has already authenticated himself and created a manual query.   • Integrating PayMill: The token filled input field is not created, error "field_invalid_amount"

    I'm implementing the Credit Card Payment form of PayMill according to the Payment Form docu. So I copied the JS from the Bridge docu page and the form from the Payment Form docu page. But no token is created. When I try to debug the JS and add console.info(error.apierror); into the paymillResponseHandler(...) function, I get the error code: field_invalid_amount. According to the support page There are three possible reasons for this error message: no amount value was provided numbers were rounded wrong delimiter symbol But the amuont is provided and I've already tried different delimiter symbols. What "numbers were rounded" means, is not clear. What can be the problem and how to fix this issue?   • Why is PLINQ slower than LINQ for this code?

    First off, I am running this on a dual core 2.66Ghz processor machine. I am not sure if I have the .AsParallel() call in the correct spot. I tried it directly on the range variable too and that was still slower. I don't understand why...   • Retrieving Spotlight query used to open document in application

    If you search for something that opens Preview.app (e.g. a PDF file) in Spotlight, the application not only opens the file but actually copies the Spotlight query into the application's search field (for deeper search). iPhoto and Mail.app also do this. This is a really nice feature. Unfortunately, Apple does not document how it's implemented. Opening a document from Spotlight appears to simply send application:openFile to the application delegate. Is it possible to retrieve the user's Spotlight query somehow? Or is this a hardcoded feature of Spotlight?

  • Finding many local max in an image (using MatLab)

    How do you go about figuring our multiple max in a 2D image where the max aren't necessarily all the same height? I have found that the imregionalmax(), imextendedmax(), and findpeaks() functions aren't necessarily that helpful because they give many local max that are really just maxes within the background noise. I tried bw=arrayimdilate(array,[1 1 1; 1 0 1; 1 1 1]) but that also is kind of limited for the same reasons (same thing with expanding the matrix that it uses). I'd definitely appreciate some help..

  • Handling Corrupted JPEGs in C#

    We have a process that pulls images from a remote server. Most of the time, we're good to go, the images are valid, we don't timeout, etc. However, every once and awhile we see this error similar to this: Unhandled Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.ExternalException: A generic error occurred in GDI+. at System.Drawing.Image.Save(Stream stream, ImageCodecInfo encoder, EncoderPa rameters encoderParams) at ConsoleApplication1.Program.Main(String[] args) in C:\images\ConsoleApplic ation1\ConsoleApplication1\Program.cs:line 24 After not being able to reproduce it locally, we looked closer at the image, and realized that there were artifacts, making us suspect corruption. Created an ugly little unit test with only the image in question, and was unable to reproduce the error on Windows 7 as was expected. But after running our unit test on Windows Server 2008, we see this error every time. Is there a way to specify non-strictness for jpegs when writing them? Some sort of check/fix we can use?   • How should images be stored when multiple sizes are needed?

    What is the best way to store images? Currently when an image is uploaded I resize it to 3 different sizes (a thumbnail, a normal size, and a large size). I save in a database a description of the image, the format, and use the id number from the database as the image name. Each size image has its own directory. Should I be storing the images in the database? Should I only be storing the larger size and generate the thumbnail as needed? Or any other ideas you have?

    I have two tables, the first is like this: f1 | f2 | f3 | f4 ----------------- data.... the second contains info about the fields of the first: field | info ------------ f1 a f2 b f3 a etc. I would like to query the first table selecting the fields with a query on the second. So, for example, I might want to get data for fields where info is equal to "a", thus I would do "select f1, f3 from first_table". How do I do this programmatically? Products has a price column and the price of a BundleProduct is calculated as the sum of the prices of its Products. BaseProducts have columns like name and description so I can query it to get both Products and BundleProducts.     UPDATE: My mistake - I made a typo. Nevermind this question. I'm using php to update a mysql database. The resultant query I'm using when i print it out on my webpage before executing is as follows: INSERT INTO perch2_content_items (itemOrder, regionID, pageID, itemRev, itemID, itemJSON, itemSearch ) SELECT MAX(itemOrder)+1, 105, 81, 11, 118, 'json', 'search' FROM perch2_content_items WHERE regionID=105 When I copy and paste this query directly into the phpmyadmin SQL interface, it works fine. The table gets updated.   • how to optimize an oracle query that has to_char in where clause for date

    I have a table that contains about 49403459 records. I want to query the table on a date range. say 04/10/2010 to 04/10/2010. However, the dates are stored in the table as format 10-APR-10 10.15.06.000000 AM (time stamp). As a result. When I do: SELECT bunch,of,stuff,create_date FROM myTable WHERE TO_CHAR (create_date,'MM/DD/YYYY)' >= '04/10/2010' AND TO_CHAR (create_date, 'MM/DD/YYYY' <= '04/10/2010' I get 529 rows but in 255.59 seconds! which is because I guess I am doing to_char on EACH record. However, When I do SELECT bunch,of,stuff,create_date FROM myTable WHERE create_date >= to_date('04/10/2010','MM/DD/YYYY') AND create_date <= to_date('04/10/2010','MM/DD/YYYY') then I get 0 results in 0.14 seconds. How can I make this query fast and still get valid (529) results?? At this point I can not change indexes. Right now I think index is created on create_date column

    Hello, as the world cup is the main sport event and the Vuvuzelas are the most annoying sound in the world, I had an idea to remove them definitively by reading this new ( http://www.popsci.com/diy/article/2010-06/simple-software-can-filter-out-vuvuzela-whine) that told us that the sound has some frequencies at 233Hz + 466,932,1864Hz. I have already made a lot of Android application by myself but never touching the signal analysis and filtering part, so here are a few questions, I do not ask for precise answer but maybe links and tutorial to find something to work on. I guess that a new Android phone has the CPU and power to make real-time filtering. 1) How can I intercept the sound coming from the Jack microphone - Line-IN plug- ( I plan to link my TV to my phone with Jack to Jack plug). My question is totally software and coding, I have all the wires and adapters to plug a jack into my android phone Line IN. 2) Are there some Fourier analysis librairies, may I have a look to Java libraries on the web and import them to my Android project?   • What is the fastest way to find duplicates in multiple BIG txt files?

    I am really in deep water here and I need a lifeline. I have 10 txt files. Each file has up to 100.000.000 lines of data. Each line is simply a number representing something else. Numbers go up to 9 digits. I need to (somehow) scan these 10 files and find the numbers that appear in all 10 files. And here comes the tricky part. I have to do it in less than 2 seconds. I am not a developer, so I need an explanation for dummies. I have done enough research to learn that hash tables and map reduce might be something that I can make use of. But can it really be used to make it this fast, or do I need more advanced solutions? I have also been thinking about cutting up the files into smaller files. To that 1 file with 100.000.000 lines is transformed into 100 files with 1.000.000 lines. But I do not know what is best: 10 files with 100 million lines or 1000 files with 1 million lines? When I try to open the 100 million line file, it takes forever. So I think, maybe, it is just too big to be used. But I don't know if you can write code that will scan it without opening. Speed is the most important factor in this, and I need to know if it can be done as fast as I need it, or if I have to store my data in another way, for example, in a database like mysql or something.   • openmp program elapsed time not scaling with increased threads

    I've got this openmp fortran program doing an embarrassingly parallel problem - do loop over 512^3 elements. See output below. Why would there be such strange behavior in the elapsed time as a function of threads? I thought it would peak at a sweet spot then slowly degrade. This clearly isn't happening. Perhaps I misunderstand something about openmp.
