  • Weblogic 12 and the CLI

    - by Rig
I am working with WebLogic on Fedora 19 and am attempting to use the CLI tools to no avail. It appears these were deprecated as far back as WebLogic 9 however I was assured they are still there and still functional. As it stands I have a need to use them if they are in fact functional. What appears to the case is that the weblogic jar file is not being loaded correctly to the classpath by this script after trying to manually add it to the classpath as it fails when trying to add those jars via java -classpath <path>. I've spent a lot of time so far trying to get this sorted out but I'm wondering what I may be missing here. My Java runtime is version 7, Fedora is 19, and WebLogic is 12.1. When I run env after running the provided set environment script it appears to have no impact from what I can see. (I'll add that later when I get back to that machine). I'm mostly a Windows developer so some of this is a topic I'm not well versed in. [foo@localhost bin]$ ./setDomainEnv.sh [foo@localhost bin]$ java weblogic.Admin -url t3://localhost:7001 -username <username> -password <password> HELP Error: Could not find or load main class weblogic.Admin [foo@localhost bin]$ ls -ltar total 72 drwxr-x--- 2 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:36 service_migration drwxr-x--- 2 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:36 server_migration drwxr-x--- 2 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:36 nodemanager -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 1267 Jun 2 07:36 setStartupEnv.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 1105 Jun 2 07:36 startNodeManager.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 5765 Jun 2 07:36 startWebLogic.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 2001 Jun 2 07:36 stopWebLogic.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 3170 Jun 2 07:36 startManagedWebLogic.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 2776 Jun 2 07:36 stopManagedWebLogic.sh -rwxrwxrwx 1 foo foo 14136 Jun 2 07:36 setDomainEnv.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 2060 Jun 2 07:36 startComponent.sh drwxr-x--- 5 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:36 . -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 1726 Jun 2 07:36 stopComponent.sh drwxr-x--- 12 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:45 ..

  • need help with automating a CMD java tool which queries alexa AWS using batch

    - by Eli.C
Hi everyone, I need to get all available info on 600 URLs from "Alexa Web Information Service", I downloaded the java tool and I'm able to run a single query each time with a single switch/Response Group. I would like to ask how to write a batch file that would automate the process? The java tool runs from the CMD with the following: C:\>java UrlInfo (key1) (key2) (URL) (Response Group) UrlInfo - constant key1 - constant key2 -constant URL - variable (I guess I need to use the "(" sign to read from a file) Response Group - variable - (14 total, and I need to run each Response Group on each of the URLs once ) the app returns data in clear text formatted as XML after each query, here is an example: C:\>java UrlInfo (key1) (key2) www.url.com Rank Response: (?xml version="1.0"?) (aws:UrlInfoResponse xmlns:aws="http://alexa.amazonaws.com/doc/2005-10-05/") (aws:Response xmlns:aws="http://awis.amazonaws.com/doc/2005-07-11") (aws:OperationRequest) (aws:RequestId)ec2b6-e8ae-b392(/aws:RequestId) (/aws:OperationRequest) (aws:UrlInfoResult) (aws:Alexa) (aws:TrafficData) (aws:DataUrl type="canonical")url.com/(/aws:DataUrl) (aws:Rank)**472906**(/aws:Rank) (/aws:TrafficData) (/aws:Alexa) (/aws:UrlInfoResult) (aws:ResponseStatus xmlns:aws="http://alexa.amazonaws.com/doc/2005-10-05/") (aws:StatusCode)Success(/aws:StatusCode) (/aws:ResponseStatus) (/aws:Response) (/aws:UrlInfoResponse) Any help would be really appreciated Thanks and regards Eli.C

  • CoreStore Encryption Error on Mac Lion

    - by Michael
I am trying to encrypt an external drive using diskutil CoreStorage on Mac Lion 10.7.4. I thought the only requirements were that the drive have GUID partition scheme and Journaled HFS+ file system. I think my drive is configured accordingly but when I type the following command I get an error message back: Michaels-MacBook-Pro:~ Michael$ diskutil cs convert disk2 -passphrase TestPassword Error converting disk to CoreStorage: The given file system is not supported on Core Storage (-69756) Here are the details reported for the drive in question: Michaels-MacBook-Pro:~ Michael$ diskutil list disk2 /dev/disk2 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *500.1 GB disk2 1: EFI 209.7 MB disk2s1 2: Apple_HFS Test1 499.8 GB disk2s2 Michaels-MacBook-Pro:~ Michael$ diskutil list disk2 /dev/disk2 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *500.1 GB disk2 1: EFI 209.7 MB disk2s1 2: Apple_HFS Test1 499.8 GB disk2s2 Michaels-MacBook-Pro:~ Michael$ diskutil info disk2s2 Device Identifier: disk2s2 Device Node: /dev/disk2s2 Part of Whole: disk2 Device / Media Name: Test1 Volume Name: Test1 Escaped with Unicode: Test1 Mounted: Yes Mount Point: /Volumes/Test1 Escaped with Unicode: /Volumes/Test1 File System Personality: Journaled HFS+ Type (Bundle): hfs Name (User Visible): Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Journal: Journal size 40960 KB at offset 0xe8e000 Owners: Disabled Partition Type: Apple_HFS OS Can Be Installed: Yes Media Type: Generic Protocol: FireWire SMART Status: Not Supported Volume UUID: 1024D0B8-1C45-3057-B040-AE5C3841DABF Total Size: 499.8 GB (499763888128 Bytes) (exactly 976101344 512-Byte-Blocks) Volume Free Space: 499.3 GB (499315826688 Bytes) (exactly 975226224 512-Byte-Blocks) Device Block Size: 512 Bytes Read-Only Media: No Read-Only Volume: No Ejectable: Yes Whole: No Internal: No I'm a little concerned that the "Partition Type: Apple_HFS" entry is causing the problem, but I don't know how to change that. I only seem to be able to control the "File System Personality: Journaled HFS+" in Disk Utility. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

  • ADSL throughput loss from Reed-Solomon encoding

    - by javano
I'm reading about ADSL starting here and I am confused by how the Reed-Solomon encoding for ECC is limiting the available transfer rate, as much as it does (nearly half). This pdf on the same subject contains the following; A maximum of 255 sub-carriers can be used to modulate data in the downstream direction. Sub-carrier 256, the downstream Nyquist frequency, and sub-carrier 64, the downstream pilot frequency, are not available for user data, thus limiting the total number of available downstream sub-carriers to 254. Each of these 254 sub-carriers can support the modulation of 0 to 15 bits. Since the ADSL DMT data frame rate is 4000 frames per second, the maximum theoretical downstream data rate of an ADSL system is 15.24Mbps. Due to limitations in system architecture, specifically the maximum allowable Reed-Solomon codeword size (255 bytes), the maximum achievable downstream data rate is 8.16Mbps. How is this nearly halving the throughput? Is all that extra bandwidth overhead of the RS encoding? 15240000 bps (15.24Mbps) - 8160000 bps (8.12Mbps) = 7080000 bps (7.08Mbps). Where has that 7Mbps of throughput gone? EDIT: I tried to read the wiki page on Reed-Soloman but it's all crazy maths and algerbra, which I don't understand. I can understand that data is split into 255 byte codewords, because that maybe the max codeword size whilst still maintaining accuracy during transmission; But I don't understand why that means less data is sent?

  • What causes this logrotate behavior in Puppet?

    - by ujjain
    After running logrotate, Puppet starts writing it's logs into /var/log/puppet/masterhttp.log-20130616. How come it doesn't keep logging in /var/log/puppet/masterhttp.log? It seems normal behavior is renaming the original log-file and start with a clean fresh log-file to start writing in that log file, keeping the other file as a log-archive. [root@puppetmaster puppet]# ls -al total 97520 drwxr-x---. 2 puppet puppet 4096 Jun 16 03:24 . drwxr-xr-x. 12 root root 4096 Jul 1 09:11 .. -rw-r--r--. 1 puppet puppet 0 Jun 16 03:24 masterhttp.log -rw-rw----. 1 puppet puppet 99847187 Jul 1 09:19 masterhttp.log-20130616 [root@puppetmaster init.d]# cat /etc/logrotate.d/puppet /var/log/puppet/*log { missingok notifempty create 0644 puppet puppet sharedscripts postrotate pkill -USR2 -u puppet -f /usr/sbin/puppetmasterd || true [ -e /etc/init.d/puppet ] && /etc/init.d/puppet reload > /dev/null 2>&1 || true endscript } [root@puppetmaster init.d]# How can I make Puppet log to /var/log/puppet/masterhttp.log and not to /var/log/puppet/masterhttp.log-20130616? Even restarting puppet doesn't make it log into /var/log/puppet/masterhttp.log instead of /var/log/puppet/masterhttp.log-20130616.

  • Bad Performance when SQL Server hits 99% Memory Usage

    - by user15863
I've got a server that reports 8 GB of ram used up at 99%. When restart Sql Server, it drops down to about 5% usage, but gradually builds back up to 99% over about 2 hours. When I look at the sqlserver process, its reported as only using 100k ram, and generally never goes up or below that number by very much. In fact, if I add up all the processes in my TaskManager, it's barely scratching the surface of my total available (yet TaskManager still shows 99% memory usage with "All processes shown"). It appears that Sql Server has a huge memory leak going on but it's not reporting it. The server has ran fine for nearly two years, with this only starting to manifest itself in the last 3-4 weeks. Anyone seen this or have any insight into the problem? EDIT When the server hits 99%, performance goes down hill. All queries to the server, apps, etc. come to a crawl. Restarting the service makes things zippy again, until 2 hours has passed and the server hits 99% once again.

  • HAProxy + NodeJS gets stuck on TCP Retransmission

    - by sled
I have a HAProxy + NodeJS + Rails Setup, I use the NodeJS Server for file upload purposes. The problem I'm facing is that if I'm uploading through haproxy to nodejs and a "TCP (Fast) Retransmission" occurs because of a lost packet the TX rate on the client drops to zero for about 5-10 secs and gets flooded with TCP Retransmissions. This does not occur if I upload to NodeJS directly (TCP Retransmission happens too but it doesn't get stuck with dozens of retransmission attempts). My test setup is a simple HTML4 FORM (method POST) with a single file input field. The NodeJS Server only reads the incoming data and does nothing else. I've tested this on multiple machines, networks, browsers, always the same issue. Here's a TCP Traffic Dump from the client while uploading a file: ..... TCP 1506 [TCP segment of a reassembled PDU] >> everything is uploading fine until: TCP 1506 [TCP Fast Retransmission] [TCP segment of a reassembled PDU] TCP 66 [TCP Dup ACK 7392#1] 63265 > http [ACK] Seq=4844161 Ack=1 Win=524280 Len=0 TSval=657047088 TSecr=79373730 TCP 1506 [TCP Retransmission] [TCP segment of a reassembled PDU] >> the last message is repeated about 50 times for >>5-10 secs<< (TX drops to 0 on client, RX drops to 0 on server) TCP 1506 [TCP segment of a reassembled PDU] >> upload continues until the next TCP Fast Retransmission and the same thing happens again The haproxy.conf (haproxy v1.4.18 stable) is the following: global log 127.0.0.1 local1 debug maxconn 4096 # Total Max Connections. This is dependent on ulimit nbproc 2 defaults log global mode http option httplog option tcplog frontend http-in bind *:80 timeout client 6000 acl is_websocket path_beg /node/ use_backend node_backend if is_websocket default_backend app_backend # Rails Server (via nginx+passenger) backend app_backend option httpclose option forwardfor timeout server 30000 timeout connect 4000 server app1 127.0.0.1:3000 # node.js backend node_backend reqrep ^([^\ ]*)\ /node/(.*) \1\ /\2 option httpclose option forwardfor timeout queue 5000 timeout server 6000 timeout connect 5000 server node1 127.0.0.1:3200 weight 1 maxconn 4096 Thanks for reading! :) Simon

  • Why the system information message when accessing an Ubuntu server doesn't match free -m?

    - by Andres
Each time I SSH into my AWS Ubuntu servers I see a system information message, showing load, memory usage and packages available to install, like this: Welcome to Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.2.0-51-virtual x86_64) * Documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/ System information as of Sun Nov 10 18:06:43 EST 2013 System load: 0.08 Processes: 127 Usage of /: 4.9% of 98.43GB Users logged in: 1 Memory usage: 69% IP address for eth0: 10.236.136.233 Swap usage: 100% Graph this data and manage this system at https://landscape.canonical.com/ 13 packages can be updated. 0 updates are security updates. Get cloud support with Ubuntu Advantage Cloud Guest http://www.ubuntu.com/business/services/cloud Use Juju to deploy your cloud instances and workloads. https://juju.ubuntu.com/#cloud-precise *** /dev/xvda1 will be checked for errors at next reboot *** *** System restart required *** My question is about the memory percentage shown. In this case, it's showing a 69% of memory usage, but since the swap usage was 100% I checked it by myself. So when I run free -m I get this: total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1652 1635 17 0 4 29 -/+ buffers/cache: 1601 51 Swap: 895 895 0 And that's of course closer to 100% than to 69%

The Inbox sits at the following location /home/admin/MyLibrary/MyVideos/Inbox /home/admin/MyLibrary/MyVideos/Movies The system is a Netgear Stora NAS box that I have root access to. The /home/ folder is mounted as an smb share on various computers around the house. The folder /Inbox cannot be opened on any of those machines (they all connect as 'admin'). When I ssh into the box using the 'admin' credentials I am also unable to access the folder. The folder was created via a Web Admin page hosted on the NAS. The user/group for the Inbox folder was previously apache:www (expected as this folder was created by the web application), but I chmod/chowned the folder as the root user in an attempt to grant the admin user (therefore the rest of the connected machines) access to the files. Sorry for not including this earlier, I wasn't sure if it was relevant and didn't want to confuse the situation. -Thanks 3rd Edit Sorry again - It looks like this NAS is running some custom version of Red Hat, not Debian as previously stated - I'm not sure if this makes a difference

  • Recursive move utility on Unix?

    - by Thomas Vander Stichele
Sometimes I have two trees that used to have the same content, but have grown out of sync (because I moved disks around or whatever). A good example is a tree where I mirror upstream packages from Fedora. I want to merge those two trees again by moving all of the files from tree1 into tree2. Usually I do this with: rsync -arv tree1/* tree2 Then delete tree1. However, this takes an awful lot of time and disk space, and it would be much easier to be able to do: mv -r tree1/* tree2 In other words, a recursive move. It would be faster because first of all it would not even copy, just move the inodes, and second I wouldn't need a delete at the end. Does this exist ? As a test case, consider the following sequence of commands: $ mkdir -p a/b $ touch a/b/c1 $ rsync -arv a/ a2 sending incremental file list created directory ./ b/ b/c1 b/c2 sent 173 bytes received 57 bytes 460.00 bytes/sec total size is 0 speedup is 0.00 $ touch a/b/c2 What command would now have the effect of moving a/b/c2 to a2/b/c2 and then deleting the a subtree (since everything in it is already in the destination tree) ?

  • Is it possible to shrink the size of an HP Smart Array logical drive?

  • Accidently overwrote system.dbf - What now?

    - by Filip Ekberg
I accidentally overwrote system.dbf in /usr/lib/oracle/xe/oradata/XE/system.dbf Well I did not actually do it accidentally, however I overwrote it because of other failures in the database. And when I try running the following: SQL> shutdown ORA-01109: database not open Database dismounted. ORACLE instance shut down. SQL> startup ORACLE instance started. Total System Global Area 289406976 bytes Fixed Size 1258488 bytes Variable Size 92277768 bytes Database Buffers 192937984 bytes Redo Buffers 2932736 bytes Database mounted. ORA-01589: must use RESETLOGS or NORESETLOGS option for database open Now I want to try to Recover the database because starting it in mounted or standard surely doesn't work. SQL> recover database using backup controlfile; ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors ORA-01110: data file 1: '/usr/lib/oracle/xe/oradata/XE/system.dbf' ORA-01122: database file 1 failed verification check ORA-01110: data file 1: '/usr/lib/oracle/xe/oradata/XE/system.dbf' ORA-01206: file is not part of this database - wrong database id How do I solve this? Is it even possible? My "real" problem was that I ran the /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure and it overwrote my old configuration and probably removed passwords and such so my tables were gone, however I found the mytablespace.dbf so I hope that it is possible to recover? Please shed some light on this.

  • Server and Network Lag

    - by DanSpd
At my home I have a server and my computer. Server has Windows Server 2008 Standart 64 bit installed and then my computer has Windows 7 64 bit installed. My home router is DIR-615 My server has a game server installed on it and basically total open connections on server are around 700. Once its around 700 server and then whole home network lags really badly. My internet connection is good and only around 600kb/s is being used out of 2mb/s (real download/upload speeds). So far I assume that my router has a connection limit and with server + my computer connections it peaks at around 1k and lags everything. Another assumption server lag comes from connection limit. On the internet I have read that standart version of server has connection limit of 700 + 10 reserved. I do not rmember where I found that information but it was on microsoft website. So I have two options. First is to upgrade my router to Netgear FVS318G-100 and second is to change connections limit on server. Any advices? Thank you

  • How to use most of memory available on MySQL

    - by Zilvinas
I've got a MySQL server which has both InnoDB and MyISAM tables. InnoDB tablespace is quite small under 4 GB. MyISAM is big ~250 GB in total of which 50 GB is for indexes. Our server has 32 GB of RAM but it usually uses only ~8GB. Our key_buffer_size is only 2GB. But our key cache hit ratio is ~95%. I find it hard to believe.. Here's our key statistics: | Key_blocks_not_flushed | 1868 | | Key_blocks_unused | 109806 | | Key_blocks_used | 1714736 | | Key_read_requests | 19224818713 | | Key_reads | 60742294 | | Key_write_requests | 1607946768 | | Key_writes | 64788819 | key_cache_block_size is default at 1024. We have 52 GB's of index data and 2GB key cache is enough to get a 95% hit ratio. Is that possible? On the other side data set is 200GB and since MyISAM uses OS (Centos) caching I would expect it to use a lot more memory to cache accessed myisam data. But at this stage I see that key_buffer is completely used, our buffer pool size for innodb is 4gb and is also completely used that adds up to 6GB. Which means data is cached using just 1 GB? My question is how could I check where all the free memory could be used? How could I check if MyISAM hits OS cache for data reads instead of disk?

  • process and memory issue on linux server

    - by zapping
Need some assistance in analyzing apache and php process running on linux server. Its a 8-core intel processor with 4GB ram. When the website on it runs the top displays like this. PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 23459 username1 16 0 151m 27m 8388 S 11.3 0.7 0:11.71 php5 23730 username1 16 0 151m 28m 8388 S 11.3 0.7 0:03.87 php5 23458 username1 16 0 151m 28m 8388 S 3.0 0.7 0:19.20 php5 16202 mysql 15 0 459m 38m 4624 S 0.7 1.0 62:33.81 mysqld 24141 nobody 15 0 311m 5832 2304 S 0.3 0.1 0:00.03 httpd Why does the command say php5 when the website is accessed. Both apache and php was preconfigured so not sure whats done there. Tried setting up the same site and db on a different server but on it the process shows httpd always and not php5. The site uses mysql db. The problem is server load seems to go till about 5.x when the website was access by about 16users. When the free -m command was given the output shows total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 3941 3727 213 0 236 2734 -/+ buffers/cache: 756 3184 Swap: 4095 0 4095 Lots of memory seems to be in cache and free memory is less. Even when the website is not accessed that is leaving it very much idle for about 2days the free memory showed just 190. When the site is accessed the free memory seems to be go till 90mb then it increases to about 150mb. It always seems to remain just about 200mb. Is it somehow related to the server load showing 5.x. Will adding some more RAM resolve the load issue?

  • Is there a way to know what the Windows Disk Cleanup utility will delete?

    - by Cam Jackson
When I run the Disk Cleanup utility that's built into Windows 8, it tells me that it can free up 53GB by deleting 'Temporary Files'. However, a CCleaner analysis on default settings only finds about 300MB worth of space to free up, so I'm wondering what Disk Cleanup has found that CCleaner does not. Note that this question appears to be similar to what I'm asking, but the accepted answer says that 'Temporary Files' refers to %TEMP%. I've already cleared out most of C:\Users\Cam\AppData\Local\Temp, and it now has only 230MB of stuff in it, even with system files showing. So where is this 53GB located? Is there a way to find out what it is? Edit: I should note that this is on a 110GB SSD, so it's almost half the drive. And in fact I'm only using 86GB, so if it's really going to clear out 53GB, that would be more than 60% of the stuff on my C drive. I'm starting to think that Disk Cleanup caches its analysis, and hasn't updated since I started cleaning up the drive earlier today. Although when I run it it says that it's 'Calculating' how much space can be saved, and it takes about 5-10 seconds to do so. Hmmm... Edit2: Here is what my hard drive looks like, according to SpaceMonger (Right click-Open image in new tab, so you can see it properly): You can see why I was starting to think that the 53GB figure is actually wrong. Even if 'Temporary Files' includes my hiberfil and everything in WinSxS (about 13GB total), that would be 26GB, which is only halfway there. Hard to see where there's 53GB of stuff to delete.

  • Problem running mysql client, cannot connect to mysql server

    - by ehsanul
Edit3: Thanks for the help everyone. Sorry for wasting anybody's time, but it seems like a simple reboot solved it. I should've known better, but I just had the assumption that the "restart" solution is mostly valid just for MS Windows (no offense). I'll keep this in mind before I ask a question here again. I installed the mysql-client-5.0 and mysql-server-5.0 packages on Ubuntu 8.04, using sudo apt-get install. When I try to run the "mysql" command, I get the following error: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) To verify that mysql server is running, I tried this, and it does seem to be running, with the correct socket too: $ ps aux | grep mysql root 13388 0.0 0.0 1772 528 ? Note that I'm completely new to mysql. Edit: As requested in comments, the exact command that is returning the error is simply "sudo mysql". And when I check netstats for active networks services, I do see an entry for port 3306, with Protocol: tcp, IP Source: 127.0.0.1, State: LISTEN Edit2: It appears as if the /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock socket doesn't exist (if I'm interpreting the following output correctly): $ ls -al /var/run/mysqld/ total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 mysql root 40 2009-08-06 06:36 . drwxr-xr-x 20 root root 860 2009-08-06 06:25 ..

  • Linux can't find file that exists

    - by Joe
I'm trying to get Google's Dart language up and running, but it errors when running dart2js. I'm running Arch linux and I installed dart-sdk from AUR. Some relevant terminal output lies below. % dart2js main.dart /usr/local/bin/dart2js: line 7: /usr/local/bin/dart: No such file or directory % cat /usr/local/bin/dart2js #!/bin/sh # Copyright (c) 2012, the Dart project authors. • FreeBSD Traffic Shaping

    - by alexus
Hi I'm trying to do traffic shaping with FreeBSD, here are my rules su-3.2# ipfw show | grep pipe 08380 1514852 125523804 pipe 1 tcp from any to any dst-port 80 su-3.2# ipfw pipe 1 show 00001: 2.000 Mbit/s 0 ms 50 sl. 1 queues (1 buckets) droptail mask: 0x00 0x00000000/0x0000 - 0x00000000/0x0000 BKT Prot ___Source IP/port____ ____Dest. • Random Sampling in Excel

    - by bonsvr
    I have an Excel sheet as follows: NO NAME AMOUNT 1 A 50 1 B 50 2 A 100 2 C 100 3 D 70 3 B 70 4 A 30 4 F 30 5 C 150 5 G 150 . . . . There are let's say 10,000 rows. I want to get a random sample from rows. There are 2 conditions: 1. Sampling must be based on "NO" column. 2. Size of the sample is determined by the user: it can be %5, %10 or %20. For example, one decides to randomly choose %20 of total rows in the above example: The result is like: NO NAME AMOUNT 2 A 100 2 C 100 90 Z 500 90 E 500 . . . . There should be 2,000 rows. I don't know whether my question is too specific. I am new to Excel VBA, and I faced a situation like this. Above process is about getting a random sample from an account ledger for auditing purposes.

  • How to add a Linux Partition on FreeBSD

    - by Ömer
Today I installed FreeBSD 9.0 PPC on my Mac mini G4 with 40GB HDD. During installation, (using the FSBD utility 'gpart') I have allocated a total of about 23GB for FreeBSD leaving 17GB totally free (neither partitioned, nor formatted) for a later Linux installation. Now, when try to install Linux (Ubuntu 10.10 PPC) on the remaining 17GB, the Linux/Ubuntu installer (or Linux's Disk Utility for the same matter) wants presumably a linux partition and when I try to add a (Linux) partition on that area using Linux DU it fails with this message: Error creating partition: helper exited with exit code 1: In part_add_partition: device_file=/dev/hda, start=23363101696, size=16644660224, type= Entering MS-DOS parser (offset=0, size=40007761920) No MSDOS_MAGIC found Exiting MS-DOS parser Entering Apple parser Mac MAGIC found, block_size=512 map_count = 17 Leaving Apple parser Apple partition table detected containing partition table scheme = 2 got it Error: The partition's data region doesn't occupy the entire partition. ped_disk_new() failed Now, I'm trying to add a Linux partition on FreeBSD running on the harddisk. I use seemingly most suitable tool for this job: gpart. Here is the 'gpart show ad0' But it seems unable to add a Linux partition because "man gpart" doesn't list either "Linux Partition" nor anything like Ext2 or Ext3/Ext4. The closest thing to Linux Partition in gpart is "mbr" but it doesn't work: #gpart add -t mbr ado So, how to add properly a Linux Partition on FreeBSD? Thanks.
