  • WebSocket handshake with Ruby and EM::WebSocket::Server

    - by Chad Johnson
    I am trying to create a simple WebSocket connection in JavaScript against my Rails app. I get the following: WebSocket connection to 'ws://localhost:4000/' failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: 'Sec-WebSocket-Accept' header is missing What am I doing wrong? Here is my code: JavaScript: var socket = new WebSocket('ws://localhost:4000'); socket.onopen = function() { var handshake = "GET / HTTP/1.1\n" + "Host: localhost\n" + "Upgrade: websocket\n" + "Connection: Upgrade\n" + "Sec-WebSocket-Key: x3JJHMbDL1EzLkh9GBhXDw==\n" + "Sec-WebSocket-Protocol: quote\n" + "Sec-WebSocket-Version: 13\n" + "Origin: http://localhost\n"; socket.send(handshake); }; socket.onmessage = function(data) { console.log(data); }; Ruby: require 'rubygems' require 'em-websocket-server' module QuoteService class WebSocket < EventMachine::WebSocket::Server def on_connect handshake_response = "HTTP/1.1 101 Switching Protocols\n" handshake_response << "Upgrade: websocket\n" handshake_response << "Connection: Upgrade\n" handshake_response << "Sec-WebSocket-Accept: HSmrc0sMlYUkAGmm5OPpG2HaGWk=\n" handshake_response << "Sec-WebSocket-Protocol: quote\n" send_message(handshake_response) end def on_receive(data) puts 'RECEIVED: ' + data end end end EventMachine.run do print 'Starting WebSocket server...' EventMachine.start_server '0.0.0.0', 4000, QuoteService::WebSocket puts 'running' end The handshake headers are per Wikipedia.

  • Philosophy of [WebInvoke(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)]

    - by Mikey Cee
Hi everyone, I'm writing what I'm referring to as a POJ (Plain Old JSON) WCF web service - one that takes and emits standard JSON with none of the crap that ASP.NET Ajax likes to add to it. It seems that there are three steps to accomplish this: Change to in the endpoint's tag Decorate the method with [WebInvoke(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)] Add an incantation of [AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)] to the service contract This is all working OK for me - I can pass in and am being returned nice plain JSON. If I remove the WebInvoke attribute, then I get XML returned instead, so it is certainly doing what it is supposed to do. But it strikes me as odd that the option to specify JSON output appears here and not in the configuration file. Say I wanted to expose my method as an XML endpoint too - how would I do this? Currently the only way I can see would be to have a second method that does exactly the same thing but does not have WebMethodFormat.Json specified. Then rinse and repeat for every method in my service? Yuck. Specifying that the output should be serialized to JSON in the attribute seems to be completely contrary to the philosophy of WCF, where the service is implemented is a transport and encoding agnostic manner, leaving the nasty details of how the data will be moved around to the configuration file. Is there a better way of doing what I want to do? Or are we stuck with this awkward attribute? Or do I not understanding WCF deeply enough?

  • PreferenceActivity and theme not applying

    - by janfsd
Hi all I have set the theme in the manifest file like this: android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Light" But I have a problem in the Preferences Activity, in the main preferences the theme shows ok, but if I get to a sub preference, the theme gets messy, it is not white as it should, it is all dark, and the font is black so you can't see much, and when I start clicking on any items they will get sometimes white as they should but revert to black soon after. This is only happens on 2.1, in both the real device and emulator. Tested on the emulator running 1.6 and it was working correctly. Here is part of the code of the preferences xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <PreferenceScreen android:title="@string/account"> <CheckBoxPreference android:key="enable_account" android:title="@string/account_use" android:summary="@string/account_summ" /> <EditTextPreference android:key="username" android:title="@string/login" android:dependency="enable_account" android:summary="@string/login_summ" /> <EditTextPreference android:key="password" android:title="@string/password" android:dependency="enable_account" android:summary="@string/password_summ" android:password="true" /> </PreferenceScreen> And here is a screenshot: Any workarounds?

  • XNA vs SlimDX for offscreen renderer

    - by Groky
Hello, I realise there are numerous questions on here asking about choosing between XNA and SlimDX, but these all relate to game programming. A little background: I have an application that renders scenes from XML descriptions. Currently I am using WPF 3D and this mostly works, except that WPF has no way to render scenes offscreen (i.e. on a server, without displaying them in a window), and also rendering to a bitmap causes WPF to fallback to software rendering. So I'm faced with having to write my own renderer. Here are the requirements: Mix of 3D and 2D elements. Relatively few elements per scene (tens of meshes, tens of 2D elements). Large scenes (up to 3000px square for print). Only a single frame will be rendered (i.e. FPS is not an issue). Opacity masks. Pixel shaders. Software fallback (servers may or may not have a decent gfx card). Possibility of being rendered offscreen. As you can see it's pretty simple stuff and WPF can manage it quite nicely except for the not-being-able-to-export-the-scene problem. In particular I don't need many of the things usually needed in game development. So bearing that in mind, would you choose XNA or SlimDX? The non-rendering portion of the code is already written in C#, so want to stick with that.

  • Powershell Transcript is empty when running script from SQL Agent Job in 2005 SQL Server

    - by Greg Bray
I have a complex Powershell script that gets run as part of a SQL 2005 Server Agent Job. The script works fine, but it uses the "Start-Transcript $strLogfile -Append" command to log all of it's actions to a transcript file. The problem is that the transcript is always empty. It adds the header and footer to indicate that the transcript is starting and stopping, but it doesn't actually log anything. Example: ********************** Windows PowerShell Transcript Start Start time: 20100304173001 Username : xxxxxxxxxxxx\SYSTEM Machine : xxxxx-xxx (Microsoft Windows NT 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2) ********************** ********************** Windows PowerShell Transcript End End time: 20100304173118 ********************** When I execute the script from a command prompt or start - run everything works just fine. Here is the command used to run the script (same command used in the Operating system CmdExec step of the SQL Agent Job) powershell.exe -File "c:\temp\Backup\backup script.ps1" I first thought it must have something to do with the script running under the System account (default SQL Agent account), but even when I tried changing the SQL Agent to run under my own personal account it still created a blank transcript. Is there any way to get PowerShell Transcripts to work when executing them as part of a 2005 SQL Server Agent Job?

  • How do I properly host a WCF Data Service in IIS? Why am I getting errors?

    - by j0rd4n
I'm playing around with WCF Data Services (ADO.NET Data Services). I have an entity framework model pointed at the AdventureWorks database. When I debug my svc file from within Visual Studio, it works great. I can say /awservice.svc/Customers and get back the ATOM feed I expect. If I publish the service (hosted in an ASP.NET web application) to IIS7, the same query string returns a 500 fault. The root svc page itself works as expected and successfully returns ATOM. The /Customers path fails. Here is what my grants look like in the svc file: public class AWService : DataService<AWEntities> { public static void InitializeService( DataServiceConfiguration config ) { config.SetEntitySetAccessRule( "*", EntitySetRights. All ); config.SetServiceOperationAccessRule( "*", ServiceOperationRights. All ); config.DataServiceBehavior.MaxProtocolVersion = DataServiceProtocolVersion.V2; } } Update: I enabled verbose errors and get the following in the XML message: <innererror> <message>The underlying provider failed on Open.</message> <type>System.Data.EntityException</type> <stacktrace> at System.Data.EntityClient.EntityConnection.OpenStoreConnectionIf( ... ... <internalexception> <message> Login failed for user 'IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool'. </message> <type>System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException</type> <stacktrace> at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, ...

  • How to get only one rounded corner with border-radius htc hack and MSIE v:roundrect?

    - by aarreoskari
I have a problem with partially rounded corners. See the first working example for most browsers: .box { display: block; width: 100px; height: 100px; border: 1px solid black; background-color: yellow; -moz-border-radius-bottomright: 10px; -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 10px; } You can see that only bottom right corner should be rounded. Natural choice would be adding a border-radius.htc hack inside a conditional IE statement: .box { border-bottom-right-radius: 20px; behavior:url(border-radius.htc); } This is not working because border-radius.htc file is only accessing normal border-radius value (this.currentStyle['border-radius']). VML used by the hack is roundrect which only supports one percentage value for arcsize. So I was wondering if there is any other way around the problem by using some other VML elements? Another problem is that htc-file doesnt's support borders but that can be fixed with VML's stroked attribute. Nifty corners for example doesn't work well with corners at all.

  • How to fix the endless printing loop bug in Nevrona Rave

    - by Sean B. Durkin
Nevrona Designs' Rave Reports is a Report Engine for use by Embarcadero's Delphi IDE. This is what I call the Rave Endless Loop bug. In Rave Reports version 6.5.0 (VCL10) that comes bundled with Delphi 2006, there is a nortorious bug that plagues many Rave report developers. If you have a non-empty dataset, and the data rows for this dataset fit exactly into a page (that is to say there are zero widow rows), then upon PrintPreview, Rave will get stuck in an infinite loop generating pages. This problem has been previously reported in this newsgroup under the following headings: "error: generating infinite pages"; Hugo Hiram 20/9/2006 8:44PM "Rave loop bug. Please help"; Tomas Lazar 11/07/2006 7:35PM "Loop on full page of data?"; Tony Chistiansen 23/12/2004 3:41PM reply to (3) by another complainant; Oliver Piche "Endless lopp print bug"; Richso 9/11/2004 4:44PM In each of these postings, there was no response from Nevrona, and no solution was reported. Possibly, the problem has also been reported on an allied newsgroup (nevrona.public.rave.reports.general), to wit: 6. "Continuously generating report"; Jobard 20/11/2005 Although it is not clear to me if (6) is the Rave Endless loop bug or another problem. This posting did get a reply from Nevrona, but it was more in relation to multiple regions ("There is a problem when using multiple regions that go over a page-break.") than the problem of zero widows.

But I installed it (version 2.0.5)! phpinfo() says I installed it, also var_dump(extension_loaded('xdebug')) I get true. I installed it as Zend Extension and I tried also as normal extension. Bot worked, but PHPUnit says everytime Xdebug is not loaded!

  • MSbuild task fails because "Any CPU" solution is built out of order

I have two solutions to build in Teambuild, one is the application itself, the other one is the WiX installer. I want to build the application using "Any CPU" build configuration and the installer using "x86". I even created a trivially simple app (just an assemblyinfo.vb file) that will not compile and sign using vbc.exe What am I doing wrong? here is my assemblyinfo.vb: Option Strict Off Option Explicit On Imports System Imports System.Reflection <Assembly: AssemblyVersionAttribute("2010.05.18.0918"), _ Assembly: AssemblyCopyrightAttribute("Copyright © Patient First 2007"), _ Assembly: AssemblyCompanyAttribute("Patient First, Inc."), _ Assembly: AssemblyProductAttribute("Patient First Framework"), _ Assembly: AssemblyDelaySign(false), _ Assembly: AssemblyKeyFile("test.pfx"), _ Assembly: AssemblyTitleAttribute("PatientFirst.Framework")> test.pfx is located in the same folder as assemblyinfo.vb Here is how I am trying to compile it: vbc /target:library /verbose assemblyinfo.vb I also tried using vbc /target:library /verbose assemblyinfo.vb /keyfile:test.pfx and tried using /keyfile parameter without the AssemblyDelaySign and AssemblyKeyFile attributes If I remove the AssemblyDelaySign and AssemblyKeyFile attributes and leave off the /keyfile command line parameter it compiles fine. What is the correct way to do this with vbc? --EDIT: I have found that MSBuild also does not like having the AssemblyKeyFile attribute as I have defined it in the AssemblyInfo.vb, it gives the same failure message. So the only way I can currently get this to build correctly is to set properties on the project to tell it which key file to use and to sign the assembly.

  • SGEN doesn't work after upgrading from VS2008 to VS2010

    - by emddudley
I just recently upgraded a VS2008/.NET 3.5 SP1 project to VS2010 and .NET 4. I have a post-build event which calls SGEN to generate the XmlSerializers assembly. Whenever I try to run it I get the following error. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\bin\sgen.exe" /debug /force /verbose /c:"platform:x86" "C:\path\to\SomeAssembly.dll" Microsoft (R) Xml Serialization support utility [Microsoft (R) .NET Framework, Version 2.0.50727.3038] Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Error: An attempt was made to load an assembly with an incorrect format: c:\path\to\someassembly.dll. - Could not load file or assembly 'file:///c:\path\to\someassembly.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. If you would like more help, please type "sgen /?". I get the same error running SGEN from the command line, but I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?

  • Split WPF Style XAML Files

    - by anon
Most WPF styles I have seen are split up into one very long Theme.xaml file. I want to split mine up for readability so my Theme.xaml looks like this: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="/PresentationFramework.Aero;v3.0.0.0;31bf3856ad364e35;component/themes/aero.normalcolor.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Controls/Brushes.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Controls/Buttons.xaml"/> ... </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> The problem is that this solution does not work. I have a default button style which is BasedOn the default Aero style for a button: <Style x:Key="{x:Type Button}" TargetType="{x:Type Button}" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type Button}}"> <Setter Property="FontSize" Value="14"/> ... </Style> If I place all of this in one file it works but as soon as I split it up I get StackOverflow exceptions because it thinks it is BasedOn itself. Is there a way around this? How does WPF add resources when merging resource dictionaries?

  • How to build android cts? And how to add and run your test case?

    - by Leox
From 2.0 the cts is freely downloadable from android's repository. But there is no documents about it. Does anyone can tell me: how to build cts? Is there a standard procedure? How to run cts? How to add customized test case? Here, share my experience. After repo sync all source, you can't directly run "make" to build all source. You will get some errors. Now, I'am trying to first build android source without cts, and then build cts alone. Also, here are some reference for run cts: http://i-miss-erin.blogspot.com/2010/05/how-to-add-test-plan-package-to-android.html www.mentby.com/chenny/how-does-cts-work-where-can-i-get-the-test-streams.html www.jxva.com/?act=blog!article&articleId=157 1st time Update @ 5-13 18:39 +8:00 I do the following steps: 1.build android source without cts (move cts out of the $SDK_ROOT). 2.build cts (move cts back). both jdk1.5 and 1.6 have the following errors: 1.The 1st time "make cts" report: "Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: ...(Too many open files)" 2.The 2nd time "make cts" report: "acp: file 'out/host/linux-x86/obj/EXECUTABLES/vm-tests_intermediates/tests/data' does not exist" 3.The 3rd time "make cts" report: "/bin/bash: line 0: cd: out/host/linux-x86/obj/EXECUTABLES/vm-tests_intermediates/hostjunit_files/classes: No such file or directory" 4.The last time "make cts" report: "zip error: Nothing to do! • NserviceBus throws exception when referencing a Nettiers assembly

    - by IGoor
We use nettiers as a our data layer, and we recently have started looking at using NServiceBus, but we have hit a wall. We have a windows service which hosts NSB and references our Nettiers assembly. the service is throwing an exception when the following line is encountered. var Bus = Configure.With().SpringBuilder() .XmlSerializer() .MsmqTransport() .IsTransactional(false) .PurgeOnStartup(false) .UnicastBus() .ImpersonateSender(false) .CreateBus() .Start(); the exceptions that is throw is: Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information. the loader exception message is: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=1.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. • grep --exclude/--include syntax (do not grep through certain files)

    - by Piskvor
I'm looking for the string "foo=" (without quotes) in text files in a directory tree. It's on a common Linux machine, I have bash shell: grep -ircl "foo=" * In the directories are also many binary files which match "foo=". As these results are not relevant and slow down the search, I want grep to skip searching these files (mostly JPEG and PNG images): how would I do that? I know there are the --exclude=PATTERN and --include=PATTERN options, but what is the pattern format? manpage of grep says: --include=PATTERN Recurse in directories only searching file matching PATTERN. --exclude=PATTERN Recurse in directories skip file matching PATTERN. Searching on grep include, grep include exclude, grep exclude and variants did not find anything relevant If there's a better way of grepping only in certain files, I'm all for it; moving the offending files is not an option, I can't search only certain directories (the directory structure is a big mess, with everything everywhere). Also, I can't install anything, so I have to do with common tools (like grep or the suggested find). UPDATES: @Adam Rosenfield's answer is just what I was looking for: grep -ircl --exclude=*.{png,jpg} "foo=" * @rmeador's answer is also a good solution: grep -Ir --exclude="*\.svn*" "pattern" * It searches recursively, ignores binary files, and doesn't look inside Subversion hidden folders.(...)

  • Mixing Objective-C and C++

    - by helixed
Hello, I'm trying to mix together some Objective-C code with C++. I've always heard it was possible, but I've never actually tried it before. When I try to compile the code, I get a bunch of errors. Here's a simple example I've created which illustrates my problems: AView.h #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> #include "B.h" @interface AView : NSView { B *b; } -(void) setB: (B *) theB; @end AView.m #import "AView.h" @implementation AView - (id)initWithFrame:(NSRect)frame { self = [super initWithFrame:frame]; if (self) { // Initialization code here. } return self; } - (void)drawRect:(NSRect)dirtyRect { // Drawing code here. } -(void) setB: (B *) theB { b = theB; } @end B.h #include <iostream> class B { B() { std::cout << "Hello from C++"; } }; Here's the list of errors I get when I try to compile this: /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/B.h:1:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/B.h:1:20: error: iostream: No such file or directory /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/B.h:3:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/B.h:3: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before 'B' /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.h:5:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.h:5: error: expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'B' /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.h:8:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.h:8: error: expected ')' before 'B' /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.m:26:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.m:26: error: expected ')' before 'B' /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.m:27:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.m:27: error: 'b' undeclared (first use in this function) All I'm doing to compile this right now is using the default compiler built into Xcode. I didn't edit the Cocoa Application template in any way other than adding the two files I created and chaing the NSView to AView in the xib file. Could somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, helixed

  • System.MissingMethodException for XslCompiledTransform.Transform when running application on differe

    - by Codesleuth
    I have a problem where I compiled my application on Visual Studio 2010 while targetting the .NET Framework 3.5, deployed it to a client server, only to find it gives me the following error: ************** Exception Text ************** System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Void System.Xml.Xsl.XslCompiledTransform.Transform( System.Xml.XPath.IXPathNavigable, System.Xml.Xsl.XsltArgumentList, System.Xml.XmlWriter, System.Xml.XmlResolver)'. ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** [...] System.Xml Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3082 (QFE.050727-3000) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Xml/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Xml.dll The method it says it's looking for is this: XslTransform.Transform Method (IXPathNavigable, XsltArgumentList, XmlWriter, XmlResolver) (Supported in: 4, 3.5, 3.0, 2.0, 1.1) I've tried setting up a redirect to the .NET Framework 4.0 version of the same DLL using the assemblyBinding element like so: <runtime> <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity name="System.Xml" publicKeyToken="b77a5c561934e089" culture="neutral" /> <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2.0.0.0" newVersion="4.0.0.0"/> <codeBase version="4.0.0.0" href="file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.NET/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Xml/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Xml.dll" /> </dependentAssembly> </assemblyBinding> </runtime> But now the application won't run, and puts this in the event log: EventType clr20r3, P1 myapplication.exe, P2 3.85.12.27583, P3 4be9757f, P4 system.configuration, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4889de74, P7 1a6, P8 136, P9 ioibmurhynrxkw0zxkyrvfn0boyyufow, P10 NIL. So, in summary, (1) does anyone know why the application can't find the method listed, and (2) why doesn't it let me redirect to the .NET 4.0 version of System.Xml? Any help is appreciated, I'm totally stuck!
