• Once installed geos library (C++, and C), and then trying to install rgeos package (R), it reports geos-config missing!

  Knowing that the package rgeos, from the R language, requieres a prior installation of geos libraries, I installed, both, libgeos and libgeos-c1 (3.2.2), using the synaptic installer in my Ubuntu 12.04 (32 bit) machine. Then I tried to install rgeos directly from the R console, and it issued a message in the sense that geos-config was not found.   Hello, Is it possible to create a filter in a Drupal 6 View that is only applied for registered users? For one filter I need I'm using the user vote (With fivestar and votingapi) to know if they user already voted this node or not, and when the user is annonymous, is working as if all the votes from all the annonymous users where from the same.   I was reading jQuery's page for animate() http://api.jquery.com/animate/ Its examples don't mention about if using <a href="#" id="clickme">click me</a> ... $('#clickme').click(function() { $('#someDiv').animate({left: "+=60"}); }) we actually still have to return false like in the old days? $('#clickme').click(function() { $('#someDiv').animate({left: "+=60"}); return false; }) (but then, those examples didn't use a <a> for the "click me"... but used something else. Otherwise the page will jump back to the beginning of the page? Does jQuery have a more elegant or magical way of doing it?

• EXC_BAD_ACCESS on button press for button dynamically added to UIView within UIScrollView

  OK. It's an iPad app. Within the DetailViewController I have added a UIScrollView through IB and within that UIScrollView I have added a UIView (also added through IB) which holds various dynamically added UITableViews, UILabels and UIButtons. My problem is that I'm getting errors on the UIButton clicks. I have defined this method: - (void)translationSearch:(id)sender { NSLog(@"in transearch"); [self doSearch]; } This is how I'm adding the UIButton to the UIView: UIButton *translationButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]; translationButton.frame = CGRectMake(6, 200, 200, 20); translationButton.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; [translationButton setTitle:@"testing" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [translationButton addTarget:self action:@selector(translationSearch:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [verbView addSubview:translationButton]; Now the button is added to the form without any issue but, when I press it, I am getting an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error. I'm sure it's staring me in the face but I've passed my usual time limit for getting a bug like this fixed so any help would be greatly appreciated. The only thing I can think is the fact that the UIButton is within a UIView which is within a UIScrollView which is within the view controller is somehow causing an issue. Cheers.

  I'm currently working on a library written in C. Many functions of this library expect a string as char* or const char* in their arguments. I started out with those functions always expecting the string's length as a size_t so that null-termination wasn't required. However, when writing tests, this resulted in frequent use of strlen(), like so: const char* string = "Ugh, strlen is tedious"; libFunction(string, strlen(string)); Trusting the user to pass properly terminated strings would lead to less safe, but more concise and (in my opinion) readable code: libFunction("I hope there's a null-terminator there!"); So, what's the sensible practice here? Make the API more complicated to use, but force the user to think of their input, or document the requirement for a null-terminated string and trust the caller?

  Hi, I'm currently working on a very simple aplication, and I intended to make it change the visual aspect depending on the screen size. The application just has 6 buttons like this: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/e1efb4c4d0.jpg I'm using the AbsoluteLayout, and changing the x and y of the buttons with the methods offsetLeftAndRight and offsetTopAndBottom. I'm not changing the layout of the buttons in the xml file, so the all start in the same place. However, if I use this methods inside the onClickMethod they sometimes appear where I want them, sometimes don't (can't figure out why), but if i use them in the onCreate method, nothing happens. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

  An array of integers A[i] (i 1) is defined in the following way: an element A[k] ( k 1) is the smallest number greater than A[k-1] such that the sum of its digits is equal to the sum of the digits of the number 4* A[k-1] . You need to write a program that calculates the N th number in this array based on the given first element A[1] . INPUT: In one line of standard input there are two numbers seperated with a single space: A[1] (1 <= A[1] <= 100) and N (1 <= N <= 10000). OUTPUT: The standard output should only contain a single integer A[N] , the Nth number of the defined sequence. Input: 7 4 Output: 79 Explanation: Elements of the array are as follows: 7, 19, 49, 79... and the 4th element is solution. I tried solving this by coding a separate function that for a given number A[k] calculates the sum of it's digits and finds the smallest number greater than A[k-1] as it says in the problem, but with no success. The first testing failed because of a memory limit, the second testing failed because of a time limit, and now i don't have any possible idea how to solve this. One friend suggested recursion, but i don't know how to set that. Anyone who can help me in any way please write, also suggest some ideas about using recursion/DP for solving this problem. Thanks.

• Parallel.Foreach loop creating multiple db connections throws connection errors?

  Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication I wanted to get my code running in parallel, so I changed my foreach loop to a parallel foreach loop. It seemed simple enough. Each loop connects to the database, looks up some stuff, performs some logic, adds some stuff, closes the connection. But I get the above error? I'm using my local sql server and entity framework (each loop uses it's own context). Is there some problem with connecting multiple times using the same local login or something? How did I get around this? I have (before trying to covert to a parallel.foreach loop) split my list of objects that I am foreach looping through into four groups (separate csv files) and run four concurrent instances of my program (which ran faster overall than just one, thus the idea for parallel). So it seems connecting to the db shouldn't be a problem? Any ideas? On click, the button submits data to a php file and then changes text and blurs according to the response from php file. The blur function and change text function in col5 is working well. But the change text function in button got really buggy. The button text should change accordingly. the text of button "Activate" should change to "Inactivate" and the text of button "Inactivate" should change to "Activate" on click / successful submission.. This is not working..   suppose i have a dll with 2 functions.name of dll="dll1" f1(int a, int b, int c); f2(int a); my program would take the funtion name ,the dll name and a "list" of parameters as input. how would i call the appropriate function with its appropriate parameters. i.e, if input is dll1 f1 list(5,8,9) this would require me to call f1 with 3 parameters if input was dll1 f2 list(8) it would require me to call f2 with one parameter how would i call the function without knowing the number of parameters in advance. further clarification: how do I write code that will call any function with all its arguments by building the argument list dynamically using some other source of information

The distribution that comes from Yahoo is a 0.20 (with yahoo patches), which is apparently "the way to go". From cloudera they state the 0.20 (with cloudera patches) is also stable. Now given the fact that we'll start coding a new Hadoop project in the next few weeks; which API should we use and which Hadoop distribution (Apache, Cloudera, Yahoo, ...) should we use? • How can I supply a table name at runtime using LINQ to SQL?

  I have to use LINQ to SQL and along with it a pure SQL classic query. And this SQL query has the Table from where my data will be generated, but I will not know this Table previously. It will be known in compile time. So how can I make LINQ understand from what Table I want to make the query?
