  • I need help with Widget and PendingIntents

    - by YaW
    Hi, I've asked here a question about Task Killers and widgets stop working (SO Question) but now, I have reports of user that they don't use any Task Killer and the widgets didn't work after a while. I have a Nexus One and I don't have this problem. I don't know if this is a problem of memory or something. Based on the API: A PendingIntent itself is simply a reference to a token maintained by the system describing the original data used to retrieve it. This means that, even if its owning application's process is killed, the PendingIntent itself will remain usable from other processes that have been given it. So, I don't know why widget stop working, if Android doesn't kill the PendingIntent by itself, what's the problem? This is my manifest code: <receiver android:name=".widget.InstantWidget" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.appwidget.action.APPWIDGET_UPDATE" /> </intent-filter> <meta-data android:name="android.appwidget.provider" android:resource="@xml/widget_provider" /> </receiver> And the widget code: public class InstantWidget extends AppWidgetProvider { public static ArrayList<Integer> alWidgetsId = new ArrayList<Integer>(); private static final String PREFS_NAME = "com.cremagames.instant. OnCompletionListener completionListener = new MediaPlayer.OnCompletionListener(){ public void onCompletion(MediaPlayer mp) { if(mp != null){ mp.stop(); mp.release(); mp = null; } } }; } Sorry for the comments in Spanish. I have the possibility to put differents widgets on the desktop, that's why I use the widgetId as the "unique id" for the PendingIntent. Any ideas please? The 70% of the functionality of my app is the widgets, and it isn't working for some users :( Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

  • How to create multiple tables with the same schema using SQLite jdbc

    - by Space_C0wb0y
    I want to split a large table horizontally, and I would like to make sure that all three of them have the same schema. Currently I am using this piece of code to create the tables: statement .executeUpdate("CREATE TABLE AnnotationsMolecularFunction (Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY ASC AUTOINCREMENT, " + "ProteinId NOT NULL, " + "GOId NOT NULL, " + "UNIQUE (ProteinId, GOId)" + "FOREIGN KEY(ProteinId) REFERENCES Protein(Id))"); There is one such statement for each table. This is bad, because if I decide to change the schema later (which will most certainly happen), I will have to change it three times, which begs for errors, so I would like a way to make sure that the other tables have the same schema without explicitly writing it again. I can use: statement .executeUpdate("CREATE TABLE AnnotationsBiologicalProcess AS SELECT * FROM AnnotationsMolecularFunction"); to create the other tables with the same columns, but the constraints are not aplied. I could of course just generate the same query-string three times with different table-names in Java, but I would like to know if there is an SQL-way of achieving this.

  • How to implement a Counter Cache in Rails?

    - by yuval
    I have a posts controller and a comments controller. Post has many comments, and comments belong to Post. The associate is set up with the counter_cache option turned on as such: #Inside post.rb has_many :comments #Inside comment.rb belongs_to :post, :counter_cache => true I have a comments_count column in my posts table that is defaulted to zero, as such: add_column :posts, :comments_count, :integer, :default => 0 In the create action of my comments controller, I have the following code: def create @posts = Post.find(params[:post_id]) @comment = @post.comments.build(params[:comment]) if @comment.save redirect_to root else render :action => 'new' end end My problem: when @comment.save is called, I get the following error: ArgumentError in CommentsController#create wrong number of arguments (2 for 0) Removing :counter_cache => true from comment.rb completely solves the problem, so I'm assuming that it is the cause of this vague error. What am I missing here? How can I save my comment and still have rails take care of my counter_cache for my post? Thanks!

  • Average performance of binary search algorithm?

    - by Passonate Learner
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_search_algorithm#Average_performance BinarySearch(int A[], int value, int low, int high) { int mid; if (high < low) return -1; mid = (low + high) / 2; if (A[mid] > value) return BinarySearch(A, value, low, mid-1); else if (A[mid] < value) return BinarySearch(A, value, mid+1, high); else return mid; } If the integer I'm trying to find is always in the array, can anyone help me write a program that can calculate the average performance of binary search algorithm?

  • Mongomapper query collection problem

    - by kylemac
    When I define the User has_many meetings, it automatically creates a "user_id" key/value pair to relate to the User collections. Except I can't run any mongo_mapper finds using this value, without it returning nil or []. Meeting.first(:user_id = "1234") Meeting.all(:user_id = "1234") Meeting.find(:user_id = "1234") All return nil. Is there another syntax? Basically I can't run a query on the automatically generated associative ObjectId. # Methods class User include MongoMapper::Document key :user_name, String, :required = true key :password, String many :meetings end class Meeting include MongoMapper::Document key :name, String, :required = true key :count, Integer, :default = 1 end # Sinatra get '/add' do user = User.new user.meetings "foobar") #should read: Meeting.new(:name = "foobar") user.save end get '/find' do test = Meeting.first(:user_id = "4b4f9d6d348f82370b000001") #this is the _id of the newly create user p test # WTF! returns [] end

  • ReadOnly Property in Custom Column Types in Sharepoint

    - by Ray Booysen
    Hey all I'm creating a custom column in a feature for Sharepoint. It is essentially this: <Field Type="Integer" ID="<insert guid here>" ReadOnly="true" Name="xxx" DisplayName="XXX" Group="YYY" /> When the field is deployed and attached to a content type, the content type shows no instance of this field being attached. The documentation about ReadOnly is a bit vague but definitely states that the column will be available for viewing in a View. However, when I create a view it is not available. The moment I remove ReadOnly from the field, it is available on the content type without any problems. Any ideas?

  • Rails ActiveRecord BigNum to JSON

    - by Jon Hoffman
    Hi, I am serializing an ActiveRecord model in rails 2.3.2 to_json and have noticed that BigNum values are serialized to JSON without quotes, however, javascript uses 64 bits to represent large numbers and only ~52(?) of those bits are available for the integer part, the rest are for the exponent. So my 17 digit numbers become rounded off, grrr. Try the following in the Firebug console: console.log(123456789012345678) So, I'm thinking that the json encoder should be smart enough to quote numbers that are too big for the javascript engines to handle. How do I fix up rails to do that? Or, is there a way to override the encoding for a single property on the model (I don't want to_s elsewhere)? Thanks.

  • Custom View embed in Gallery crashes while key press

    - by tao
    Hi there, I'd like to find some stuff to replace the Tab component, so I'd make a custom View named StringView, which has the ability to display text, and to embed it into a Gallery. But it always crashes with error "NullPointerException at InputMethodManager". I have no idea about this, any help&tip&suggest are appreciate. Detail of my issue: First I'd created a class StringView extends View: public class StringView extends View { protected final Paint mPaint = new Paint(Paint.ANTI_ALIAS_FLAG); protected String mString; protected int mAscent; // Constructor public StringView(Context context, String string) { super(context); mPaint.setARGB(255, 255, 60, 10); mPaint.setTextSize(30); //mPaint.setFakeBoldText(true); mString = string; setPadding(20,15,20,15); } @Override protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { super.onDraw(canvas); int w = this.getPaddingLeft(); int h = this.getPaddingTop() - mAscent; canvas.drawText(mString, w, h, mPaint); } public void setString(String str) { mString = str; this.requestLayout(); this.invalidate(); } public String getString() { return mString; } @Override protected void onMeasure(int widthMeasureSpec, int heightMeasureSpec) { setMeasuredDimension(measureWidth(widthMeasureSpec), measureHeight(heightMeasureSpec)); } /** * Determines the width of this view * @param measureSpec A measureSpec packed into an int * @return The width of the view, honoring constraints from measureSpec */ private int measureWidth(int measureSpec) { int result = 0; int specMode = MeasureSpec.getMode(measureSpec); int specSize = MeasureSpec.getSize(measureSpec); if (specMode == MeasureSpec.EXACTLY) { // We were told how big to be result = specSize; } else { // Measure the text result = (int) mPaint.measureText(mString) + getPaddingLeft() + getPaddingRight(); if (specMode == MeasureSpec.AT_MOST) { // Respect AT_MOST value if that was what is called for by measureSpec result = Math.min(result, specSize); } } return result; } /** * Determines the height of this view * @param measureSpec A measureSpec packed into an int * @return The height of the view, honoring constraints from measureSpec */ private int measureHeight(int measureSpec) { int result = 0; int specMode = MeasureSpec.getMode(measureSpec); int specSize = MeasureSpec.getSize(measureSpec); mAscent = (int) mPaint.ascent(); if (specMode == MeasureSpec.EXACTLY) { // We were told how big to be result = specSize; } else { // Measure the text (beware: ascent is a negative number) result = (int) (-mAscent + mPaint.descent()) + getPaddingTop() + getPaddingBottom(); if (specMode == MeasureSpec.AT_MOST) { // Respect AT_MOST value if that was what is called for by measureSpec result = Math.min(result, specSize); } } return result; } } Second I put it in to Gallery through Adapter Gallery gallery = (Gallery) findViewById(R.id.gallery); gallery.setAdapter(new ImageAdapter(this)); ImageAdapter: public class ImageAdapter extends BaseAdapter { int mGalleryItemBackground; private Context mContext; private View[] mImages = genSerielImageViews(); public ImageAdapter(Context c) { mContext = c; TypedArray a = obtainStyledAttributes(R.styleable.Gallery); mGalleryItemBackground = a.getResourceId( R.styleable.Gallery_android_galleryItemBackground, 0); a.recycle(); } private View[] genSerielImageViews() { if (true) { int N = 6; StringView[] views = new StringView[N]; for (int i=0; i<N; i++) { views[i] = new StringView(mContext, "ITEM #" + Integer.toString(i) ); } return views; } else { int N = 6; TextView[] views = new TextView[N]; for (int i=0; i<N; i++) { views[i] = new TextView( mContext ); views[i].setText("CCTV #" + Integer.toString(i) ); } return views; } } public int getCount() { return mImages.length; } public Object getItem(int position) { return position; } public long getItemId(int position) { return position; } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { return mImages[position]; } } Then Compile&Run, press keypad RIGHT and I got a crash, It's turns out a weird InputMethodManager error: 03-18 07:22:33.568: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): java.lang.NullPointerException 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at android.view.inputmethod.InputMethodManager.startInputInner(InputMethodManager.java:940) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at android.view.inputmethod.InputMethodManager.checkFocus(InputMethodManager.java:1114) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1869) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4310) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) 03-18 07:22:33.648: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(958): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) Thanks.

  • Display a boolean model field in a django form as a radio button rather than the default Checkbox.

    - by Lakshman Prasad
    This is how I went about, to display a Boolean model field in the form as Radio buttons Yes and No. choices = ( (1,'Yes'), (0,'No'), ) class EmailEditForm(forms.ModelForm): #Display radio buttons instead of checkboxes to_send_form = forms.ChoiceField(choices=choices,widget=forms.RadioSelect) class Meta: model = EmailParticipant fields = ('to_send_email','to_send_form') def clean(self): """ A workaround as the cleaned_data seems to contain u'1' and u'0'. There may be a better way. """ self.cleaned_data['to_send_form'] = int(self.cleaned_data['to_send_form']) return self.cleaned_data As you can see in the code above, I need a clean method that converts input string to an integer, which may be unnecessary. Is there a better and/or djangoic way to do this. If so, how? And no, using BooleanField seems to cause a lot more problems. Using that seemed obvious to me; but it isn't. Why is it so.

  • Is there a PHP library that performs MySQL Data Validation and Sanitization According to Column Type

    - by JW
    Do you know of any open source library or framework that can perform some basic validation and escaping functionality for a MySQL Db. i envisage something along the lines of: //give it something to perform the quote() quoteInto() methods $lib->setSanitizor($MyZend_DBAdaptor); //tell it structure of the table - colnames/coltypes/ etc $lib->setTableDescription($tableDescArray); //use it to validate and escape according to coltype foreach ($prospectiveData as $colName => $rawValue) if ( $lib->isValid($colName, $rawValue)) { //add it to the set clause $setValuesArray[$lib->escapeIdentifier($colName);] = $lib->getEscapedValue($colName,$rawValue); } else { throw new Exception($colName->getErrorMessage()); } etc... I have looked into - Zend_Db_Table (which knows about a table's description), and - Zend_Db_Adaptor (which knows how to escape/sanitize values depending on TYPE) but they do not automatically do any clever stuff during updates/inserts Anyone know of a good PHP library to preform this kind of validation that I could use rather than writing my own? i envisage alot of this kind of stuff: ... elseif (eregi('^INT|^INTEGER',$dataset_element_arr[col_type])) { $datatype='int'; if (eregi('unsigned',$dataset_element_arr[col_type])) { $int_max_val=4294967296; $int_min_val=0; } else { $int_max_val=2147483647; $int_min_val=-2147483648; } } (p.s I know eregi is deprecated - its just an example of laborious code)

  • Round prices up to nearest 5 after conversion in oscommerce

    - by Rhyso
    Hi there, A conversion question relating to prices in oscommerce: I am needing for a custom currency conversion to round the USD prices up to the nearest 5$ to avoid prices being displayed at silly prices such as $263. I am trying to convert to an int and round the following line : $curr-display_price($listing['products_price'], tep_get_tax_rate($listing['products_tax_class_id'])); ( as for some reason the price is displayed as a string, im guessing to include the currency sign) However not having much luck. Does anybody know where the root conversion takes place as it might be easier for me to round() or ceil() from there when it is a raw integer Or any other ideas of how I can round the conversion? Thanks for any help Rhys Thomas

  • Corrupted mysql table, cause crash in mysql.h (c++)

    - by Francesco
    i've created a very simple mysql class in c+, but when happen that mysql crash , indexes of tables become corrupted, and all my c++ programs crash too because seems that are unable to recognize corrupted table and allowing me to handle the issue .. Q_RES = mysql_real_query(MY_mysql, tmp_query.c_str(), (unsigned int) tmp_query.size()); if (Q_RES != 0) { if (Q_RES == CR_COMMANDS_OUT_OF_SYNC) cout << "errorquery : CR_COMMANDS_OUT_OF_SYNC " << endl; if (Q_RES == CR_SERVER_GONE_ERROR) cout << "errorquery : CR_SERVER_GONE_ERROR " << endl; if (Q_RES == CR_SERVER_LOST) cout << "errorquery : CR_SERVER_LOST " << endl; LAST_ERROR = mysql_error(MY_mysql); if (n_retrycount < n_retry_limit) { // RETRY! n_retrycount++; sleep(1); cout << "SLEEP - query retry! " << endl; ping(); return select_sql(tmp_query); } return false; } MY_result = mysql_store_result(MY_mysql); B_stored_results = true; cout << "b8" << endl; LAST_affected_rows = (mysql_num_rows(MY_result) + 1); // coult return -1 cout << "b8-1" << endl; the program terminate with a "segmentation fault" after doing the "b8" and before the "b8-1" , Q_RES have no issue even if the table is corrupted.. i would like to know if there is a way to recognize that the table have problems and so then i can run a mysql repair or mysql check .. thanks, Francesco

  • how to build a index table(python dict like) in python with sqlite3

    - by Registered User KC
    Suppose I have one string list may have duplicated items: A B C A A C D E F F I want to make a list can assign an unique index for each item, looks like: 1 A 2 B 3 C 4 D 5 E 6 F now I created sqlite3 database with below SQL statement: CREATE TABLE aa ( myid INTEGER PRIMARY KEY AUTOINCREMENT, name STRING, UNIQUE (myid) ON CONFLICT FAIL, UNIQUE (name) ON CONFLICT FAIL); The plan is insert each row into the database in python. My question is how to handle the error when conflict do happened when insert in python module sqlite3? For example: the program will printing a warning message which item is conflicted and continue next insert action when inserting in python? Thanks

  • Not getting response using SOAP and PHP.

    - by Nitish
    I'm using PHP5 and NuSOAP - SOAP Toolkit for PHP. I created the server using the code below: <?php function getStockQuote($symbol) { mysql_connect('localhost','user','pass'); mysql_select_db('test'); $query = "SELECT stock_price FROM stockprices WHERE stock_symbol = '$symbol'"; $result = mysql_query($query); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result); echo $row['stock_price']; } $a=require('lib/nusoap.php'); $server = new soap_server(); $server->configureWSDL('stockserver', 'urn:stockquote'); $server->register("getStockQuote", array('symbol' => 'xsd:string'), array('return' => 'xsd:decimal'), 'urn:stockquote', 'urn:stockquote#getStockQuote'); $HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA = isset($HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA) ? $HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA : ''; $server->service($HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA); ?> The client has the following code: <?php require_once('lib/nusoap.php'); $c = new soapclientNusoap('http://localhost/stockserver.php?wsdl'); $stockprice = $c->call('getStockQuote', array('symbol' => 'ABC')); echo "The stock price for 'ABC' is $stockprice."; ?> The database was created using the code below: CREATE TABLE `stockprices` ( `stock_id` INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT , `stock_symbol` CHAR( 3 ) NOT NULL , `stock_price` DECIMAL(8,2) NOT NULL , PRIMARY KEY ( `stock_id` ) ); INSERT INTO `stockprices` VALUES (1, 'ABC', '75.00'); INSERT INTO `stockprices` VALUES (2, 'DEF', '45.00'); INSERT INTO `stockprices` VALUES (3, 'GHI', '12.00'); INSERT INTO `stockprices` VALUES (4, 'JKL', '34.00'); When I run the client the result I get is this: The stock price for 'ABC' is . 75.00 is not being printed as the price.

  • Java printf using variable field size?

    - by paxdiablo
    I'm just trying to convert some C code over to Java and I'm having a little trouble with String.printf. In C, to get a specific width based on a variable, I can use: printf("Current index = %*d\n", sz, index); and it will format the integer to be a specific size based on sz. Trying: System.out.println(String.format("Current index = %*d\n", sz, index)); results in an error since it doesn't like the *. I currently have the following kludge: System.out.println(String.format("Current index = %" + sz + "d\n", index)); but I'm hoping there's a slightly better way, yes?

  • Why is this an invalid Turing machine?

    - by Danny King
    Whilst doing exam revision I am having trouble answering the following question from the book, "An Introduction to the Theory of Computation" by Sipser. Unfortunately there's no solution to this question in the book. Explain why the following is not a legitimate Turing machine. M = { The input is a polynomial p over variables x1, ..., xn Try all possible settings of x1, ..., xn to integer values Evaluate p on all of these settings If any of these settings evaluates to 0, accept; otherwise reject. } This is driving me crazy! I suspect it is because the set of integers is infinite? Does this somehow exceed the alphabet's allowable size? Thanks!

  • How to identify a selected slide is a master slide in PowerPoint 2003 Programmatically

    - by Gayan
    Recently I was working with a code to open a PowerPoint presentation (by vb.net) object and process each slide by slide. If processing slide is not null or a master slide I need to skip and go to the next one. Can anyone show me how to check whether a given slide is a master slide? Is there any way to check it by slide type? Public Sub CheckForProprtychecker(ByVal Presn As PowerPoint.Presentation) For SlideIndex As Integer = 1 To Presn.Slides.Count() If Presn.Slides(SlideIndex) Is Nothing Then Continue For End If ‘do other process Next End Sub

  • Implementing parts of rfc4226 (HOTP) in mysql

    - by Moose Morals
    Like the title says, I'm trying to implement the programmatic parts of RFC4226 "HOTP: An HMAC-Based One-Time Password Algorithm" in SQL. I think I've got a version that works (in that for a small test sample, it produces the same result as the Java version in the code), but it contains a nested pair of hex(unhex()) calls, which I feel can be done better. I am constrained by a) needing to do this algorithm, and b) needing to do it in mysql, otherwise I'm happy to look at other ways of doing this. What I've got so far: -- From the inside out... -- Concatinate the users secret, and the number of time its been used -- find the SHA1 hash of that string -- Turn a 40 byte hex encoding into a 20 byte binary string -- keep the first 4 bytes -- turn those back into a hex represnetation -- convert that into an integer -- Throw away the most-significant bit (solves signed/unsigned problems) -- Truncate to 6 digits -- store into otp -- from the otpsecrets table select (conv(hex(substr(unhex(sha1(concat(secret, uses))), 1, 4)), 16, 10) & 0x7fffffff) % 1000000 into otp from otpsecrets; Is there a better (more efficient) way of doing this?
