  • How can you get MySQL statistics for a specific user?

    I've searched Google for a while on this and I'm not sure if it is easily or directly possible. I'm hosting a database on my cPanel server for a client which is accessed from their main website. As a result, I can't find a way to determine what amount of resources they are using. As there aren't any files under their account, cPanel reports the bandwidth at zero. I do know the stat programs don't monitor MySQL and that MySQL has a global statistics page that reports all usage on the server.

  • Windows/global setting to allow only SSL when on public Wifi?

    Rather than going through each of my apps and modifying settings, or tweaking individual browser settings (I use three different browsers) or just being careful not to type non-SSL URLs into the web address bar, is there a solution at the Windows level that will prevent anything from connecting to the web from my laptop unless it's using SSL? I also have mini apps installed like Gmail checker, etc that connect to the web of their own volition using my usernames, passwords and such, so it goes beyond just web browsers. The reason I'm asking is I want to work securely on the general Internet when on public Wifi (e.g. coffee shops) without a lot of hassle or having to remember everything that needs to be locked down. When I'm back home I want to go back to full access mode using any kind of protocol on the web. If a website doesn't support SSL when I'm out in public then I just don't surf it - that's not a worry to me.

  • postfix + mysql, user unknown

    I have installed postfix with dovecot and postfix admin and all seemed well at the beginning. I can log in with thunderbird and check the mailboxes (all empty now) and TRY to send mail, even TLS works. The problem comes when I try to send mail. This is the output of mail.log when I try to send mail from an address to the same address: Nov 23 16:41:55 mailforge postfix/local[6322]: 297792467C: to=, relay=local, delay=0.01, delays=0/0/0/0.01, dsn=5.1.1, status=bounced (unknown user: "test") Nov 23 16:41:55 mailforge postfix/qmgr[6293]: 297792467C: removed To me it looks like as if postfix tries to look for the user "test" while in the mysql database users are named as [email protected] . Where should I change this behaviour?

  • Log off as local "administrator" user, get blank login screen

    I have an imaged lab environment running Windows 7 and attached to a domain. The local Administrator account is enabled for certain maintenance and prep tasks. Every time I logoff from the local Administrator account, it brings me back to the standard Ctrl+Alt+Del login screen. When I press that combination, all the user controls vanish except for the accessibility button down in the left hand corner. The only way I can seem to escape from this is to tap the power button to initiate a shutdown. Windows is up-to-date, and logging off as any other user operates normally. The "hide last user" local security policy option is enabled. Has anyone seen this phenomenon before and how can I stop this from happening?

  • Pressing zero key brings up lock/switch user screen in W7

    This issue started after my cat walked all over the keyboard... Whenever I press the "zero" key, the screen goes black and I'm taken to the lock/switch user screen. The other functions of the key work fine - it can produce ) and / like usual. Numlock is off, and as far as I know, my computer doesn't have Function Lock. If I log out of my user account and sign in as a guest, the "zero" works again, but if I create a new user profile, it doesn't work. I get the same issue when I hit "zero" using the on-screen keyboard. My keyboard layout is set to US English. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the ATK package, and updated my keyboard drivers. I have an ASUS U43JC-X1 laptop running Windows 7, and I haven't installed any new programs lately.

    How do I prevent this? I thought it was due to my antivirus login protection (as can bee seen below) but I have now uninstalled it and the problem remains. Old question: Hi, i am using Rising Antivirus, free version. It has many advanced functionalities, including a "logon protection" that assures the protection of the password, or pre-logon protection. Unfortunately, that disables remote desktop connection until an user has logged on. (user log on, disconnect, then you can connect) I hate this behaviour, someone knows how to disable this function? (ok, i could create a limited user that autologons and then autodisconnects, but i don't like this approach)

    I'm writing a simple command line math game, and I'm using python's autodoc for my math algorithms to help me remember, for example, what a proth number is while i'm writing the algorithm, but later on I'll want to tell that information to the user as well, so they'll know what the answer was. So, for example I have: def is_proth(): """Proth numbers and numbers that fit the formula k×2^n + 1, where k are odd positive integers, and 2^n > k.""" [snip] return proths and then I tried to make a dictionary, like so: definitions = {"proths" : help(is_proth)} But it doesn't work. It prints this when I start the program, one for each item in the dictionary, and then it errors out on one of them that returns a set. And anyway, I don't want it displayed to the user until after they've played the game. Help on function is_proth in module __main__: is_proth() Proth numbers and numbers that fit the formula k×2^n + 1, where k are odd positive integers, and 2^n > k. (END) I understand the purpose of autodoc is more for helping programmers who are calling a function than for generating userdoc, but it seems inefficient to have to type out the definition of what a proth number is twice, once in a comment to help me remember what an algorithm does and then once to tell the user the answer to the game they were playing after they've won or lost.

Ted kept the audience well engaged throughout his presentation and shared his experience with DSLs in a humorous and fun setting.   • Outstanding Silverlight User Group Meeting last night

    We had a great Silverlight User Group Meeting in Phoenix last night! Before I go any farther I want to say thanks again to David Silverlight and Kim Schmidt for coming to talk to us! And not to forget Victor Gaudioso over the wire :) David, Kim, and Victor talked to us about the Silverlight User Group Starter Kit they are working on with an extended stellar list of talented developers. Don't bypass looking at this by thinking it's only for a User Group... this is a solid community-supported full-up application using MVVM and Ria Services that you could take and modify for your own use. Take a look at the list of developers. Chances are you know some of them... send them an email of thanks for all the hard work over the last year! David and Kim discussed the architecture and code, demonstrating features as they went. Then Victor came in through the application itself on a high-intensity live webcast from his home in California. The audience of about 15 seemed focused and interested which says a lot about the subject and presentation. Tim Heuer came bearing some gifts (swag) ... a hard-copy of Josh Smith's Advanced MVVM , and couple cheaply upgradeable copies of VS2008 Pro that were snatched up very quickly. We also gave away a few copies of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, some Arc mice, and some Office 2007 disks... so I don't think anyone left empty-handed. Personal thanks from me go out to Mike Palermo and Tim Heuer for the surprise they had waiting for me that's been over Twitter, and to Victor for only mentioning it at least 3 times in a 5-minute webcast.   • Setting user's group and umask has no effect

    I'm trying to allow my "deploy" user to have access to files created by www-data: I added "deploy" to the www-data group. I set umask to 002. I see that: The folder doesn't belong to the www-data group. The folder permissions don't have group-write (775). Note that the /var/www directory is owned by the deploy user: drwxr-xr-x 1 deploy deploy 510 Nov 7 20:45 . How can I give www-data selective access to directories? Or, how to share the /var/www directory with my deploy user: I don't care who owns it, as long as I can write to it, and so can www-data. (Ideally I would set up a directory with SGID access for www-data.)

  • NTFS partitions mount as root instead of user as set in /etc/fstab

    I recently upgraded a server to Ubuntu 12.04 with a fresh install and my NTFS partitions won't mount as user at boot but I can mount them as user manually from the console with $ sudo mount -a. Using ntfsfix reports no problems and chkdisk sees nothing wrong under Windows 7. Are the drives not ready to be mounted at boot and default to root instead of user for some reason?   • Controlling access to site folders if you cannot user Roles

  • How can I get a user account back?

    With all my computers I make one partition for the root and another for /home. This is useful for disasters where I need to reformat the root for ubuntu, but leave my /home data untouched. With the upgrade to 13.10 I had troubles on my wife's computer so I reinstalled 13.10. My own /home files came up, as expected, as if nothing had happened. For my wife, it is a different story - and that is the part where I need help. If I go into Files, computer I can see the home directory. There I can see ilan (my files) and yona (my wife's files). I can open yona, documents and see all her work. This means that all is well and I just need to hook up to her files. So the problem is that I need to create a user called Yona or yona, but something which will get me to exactly the files of interest. I'm not sure if I created her account as standard or an administrator. Is there any way I could tell by looking at the files in /home? I created a new user called Yona as a standard user (hoping that this is the right guess). The account came up as disabled. I pressed on the disabled button so I could change the password. I put in her password but it was refused as too short. Too short, too short, but that is what was used and that is what I need. Can anyone help me before my wife comes home and shoots me?   • Differentiating between user script input formats

    I have a .NET project at work that provides a couple of (Iron)Python scripts to the customers, to allow them to customize the output of the program. The application generates code for certain machines, and supports a couple of different formats. Until recently, we only provided a script for one format. We're expanding upon that to include support for the others. If the user is using a script, they select their input script before generating the output code. A script designed for Format1 output is going to cause errors if they're trying to generate Format2 output. I need to deal with this. One option would just be to let the customers use common sense, and if they load the wrong script it will just fail, or worse, produce inaccurate data. I'm inclined to provide a little more protection than that. At the moment I'm considering putting a shebang-style comment line at the top of the script, ala: # OUTPUT - Format1 If the user tries to run a Format2 process with a Format1 script, it will warn them. Alternatively I could create different file extensions for the input scripts that vary by type. The file-type comment approach helps prevent the script from actually loading improperly, at the cost of failing to warn the user until they've already selected it, via a dialog box. Using different file extensions would allow me to cut down on visual clutter when providing a File Dialog, but doesn't actually stop them from loading the wrong script. So I'm really not sure if the right approach is to just leave it alone, or provide some safeguards.

  • How do I get ASP.NET login status controls to display a Log In option?

    I have the following log in status controls on the top of my master page. It displays the logged in as, manager log in, and Log out options. However, when a user is not logged in, there is nothing displayed there. When the user is NOT logged in, is there a way to display a "Login" text link that takes you to the log in page and then "disappears" once the user is logged in? Any help is appreciated. Well, i've had this site live for around 3 years and i'm pretty sure that the folders \Controls and \Controls\InfoAdvice doesn't exist on my production server. On my localhost, it sure does .. and contains a large list of ascx controls. But they don't exist on my live server. So ... what is going on here? Can anyone please help? Oh :) Before someone suggests I create those two folders and even stick a random file in those folders .. and have some random text in those random files .. i've done that and it doesn't seem to work, still :( Please Help !

  • Sharepoint web part stops working because of Resources.en-US.resx file

    I've been developing a Sharepoint web part, which had been working fine upon deployment. The web part has been developed with WSP Builder, packaged up and then deployed via stsadm. The web part has been deployed tens, if not a hundred times to the dev box with no problems.
