    Hello, The following code does not fit onto the iphone screen; how do I have to define the viewport? <html> <body> <center> <div id="karteu" style="background: url('../customer/Karten/karte1.jpg') no-repeat left center;width:714px;height:540px;" > </div> </body> </html> Normally the site should be zoomed, so i first should see the website in small, and then be able to zoom that i see it in the original size, but in my case it does not, when i call the site, the zoom is, that the image has this original size already, and that i have to scroll, but i dont want to scroll,...i want to use the normal safari mobile zoom and then scroll The solution at the bottom does not zoom anything. I want to see the overview of the image at the beginning. Then i want to be able to zoom with the normal safari zoom functions,..

  • How to enter text into the "Write something..." box on Facebook and click Submit

    Hello, I am trying to manipulate Facebook pages in various ways, using Javascript browser elements. I'd need to be able to insert some text into the top "Type something..." box that shows on my site's fan page (or alternately, "click into" the field and I can type the text using GUI scripting), then click the "submit" button as if i'd done it by hand. It's tricky since the page is very Ajax heavy and I can't find the names of the elements I need to manipulate, let alone how to manipulate them as they're not using traditional form fields I'm used to. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this with javascript commands, which I'd be calling from Applescript on the Mac? Many thanks in advance. UPDATE Thanks for the comments below. Believe me, I am not trying to do anything spammy or douchy, mainly posting links to products that have gone live on page facebook page, but do it during the business day when people are on rather than at strange hours of the day. I am located in Japan so my sleep period is right when people are using FB. The solution I came up with for clicking the button was got using UI Browser, an outstanding tool if you're trying to script on the Mac. The script that clicked the button for me was: tell application "Safari" activate set thename to name of (get current tab of window 1) delay 3 tell application "System Events" tell process "Safari" try click button "Share" of group 1 of group 2 of list 3 of group 9 of UI element 1 of scroll area 1 of group 3 of window thename -- this one works on the mini? on error click button "Share" of group 1 of group 2 of list 3 of group 9 of UI element 1 of scroll area 1 of group 2 of window thename -- did not work end try end tell end tell end tell Hope this is useful to anyone.

    Ok, I'm trying to play an HTML audio code on iPad but does not work. I created one PHP script to send to the MP3 request to the HTML5 audio code mp3_file_player.php?n=mp3file.mp3 The player is here: http://www.avault.com/news/podcast-news/john-romero-podcast-episode-80/ You will see that works on every HTML5 supported browser even on my iPod Touch.   • Webkit browsers rendering CSS different than Mozilla Firefox...Why??

    I'm styling a form that was already marked up (made some markup changes), and I normally work in Firefox to style so I can use firebug and the web developer toolbar. On this project, I noticed that my styles are displaying quite differently for one particular area (several elements) in webkit based browsers Chrome and Safari, than in Firefox (we won't even get into Internet Explorer, although it is siding with the Firefox display). I can't figure out though why the styles are displaying so differently. Normally there is some rule that I'm neglecting that Firefox just takes for granted, and the others need it specified. But here I'm not getting why it's displaying this way. In particular I'm referring to the bottom area of the form where users can enter their contact info, then submit the form. I'll attach screen shots for reference as to the discrepancy. Here's the URL so feel free to check it out on your own.   • Once an HTML document has a manifest (cache.manifest), how can you remove it?

    It seems that once you have a manifest entry, a la: <html manifest="cache.manifest"> Then that page (the master entry in the cache) will always be cached (at least by Safari) until the user does something to remove the cache, even if you later remove the manifest attribute from the html tag and update the manifest (by changing something within it), forcing the master entry to be reloaded along with everything else. In other words, if you have: index.html (with manifest defined) file1.js (referenced in manifest) file2.js (referenced in manifest) cache.manifest (lists the two js files) -- removing the manifest entry from index.html and modifying the manifest (so it gets expired by the browser and all content reloaded) will not stop this page from behaving as if it's still fully cached. If you view source on index.html you won't see the manifest listed anymore, but the browser will still request only the cache.manifest file, and unless that file's content is changed, no other changes to any files will be shown to the user. It seems like a pretty glaring bug, and it's present on iOS as well as Mac versions of Safari. Has anyone found a way of resetting the page and getting rid of the cache without requiring user intervention?

  • Lightbox-style dialog shows below YouTube movie on Mac OS 10.6

    This is a "but it works on my machine" one and could be tricky: I have a lightbox-style HTML dialog that shows a menu on top of a web page. It can be injected into any web page via a JavaScript bookmarklet. One of my users is trying to use it on YouTube.com with the result that the flash movie is rendered on top of the dialog (a div with high z-index). I can't reproduce this. It works just fine for me. The dialog shows up on top of everything else on youtube.com, the video included. I had him save the page in Safari as Webarchive and send it to me. Even that shows the menu rendered correctly for me. I use the exact same version of Safari (4.0.5/531.22.7) and Flash (10.1 r53, latest beta). Only difference I could find is that he uses Snow Leopard (10.6.6) and I "only" 10.5.8. Has anybody noticed similar problems? I'm afraid that the usual wmode recommendation won't solve this (I tried & it works on my machine anyway)... Thanks! Mark

  • AjaxControlToolkit: HtmlEditor Textarea not showing in Chrome/Safari

    Hi, I am using the HtmlEditor Control included in the AjaxControlToolkit (patched version v62210 because I needed some of the included fixes). Unfortunately the textarea in the Html Editor control is never displayed in Chrome and Safari (both latest version). It doesn't matter if there is text in it or not. It does work on the AjaxControlToolkit Sample page with both browsers though. Any ideas?

    Hello, Is it possible to get a youtube video to autoplay on Safari and/or UIWebView? I've seen this done in an iPhone app, the tableview displays cells that do not have Youtube preview icon (pretty sure it's a UIWebView Though), when you tap the cell it directly goes to video. Could this be done by faking a tap on the youtube video? If so, how? Would getElementById().click work? Thanks a lot

    I have got a disjointed rollover script from Dax Assist: www . daxassist . com/js/disjointedrollovers.cfm check out the page I'm working on: http://www.gherkin.co.nz/tester/ The rollovers works pretty well on firefox, but in Explorer the larger images show up under the central div, and in Safari, they don't seem to work at all. Any ideas?

In the browser the hovers and click events work for this but in mobile safari if I click it highlights the entire results containing div. Do I need to create seperate event listeners for the iphone? How would I go about doing this? thanks

  • GWT & HTML5 Video in Mobile Safari

    I'm trying to code a site in GWT that plays videos with HTML5. Everything works great on the desktop, but mobile Safari on both the iPhone and iPad do not play the video. I can play a video using Video for Everybody. I've even copied the code to my own plain HTML page, and it works flawlessly. If I serve that same code via a GWT widget, mobile safari will not play the video. On the iPhone I see a gray box with a prohibitory sign around the play button, and on the iPad it shows up as a black box. I've made sure my doctype is <!DOCTYPE html>, but I don't know where else to start debugging. Perhaps it it because the code is injected via javascript? Any pointers on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.   • GWT FormPanel not submitting in IE - works fine on FF, Chrome, Safari

    I am using a simple FormPanel in GWT (com.google.gwt.user.client.ui.FormPanel). Once setting the action for the form, in Firefox, Safari, Chrome the submit method works fine while in IE (8) nothing happens when submit is called (I am submitting a form to paypal, not that it matters). I am on GWT 2.0. Is this some kind of known problem? Been looking around but couldn't find anything on the subject. Any help appreciated!

    After a page is loaded in Safari on the iPhone, when you begin scrolling down, the navigation bar is also scrolled out of view. When you scroll back up, the navigation scrolls back into view. I'm looking to implement this same behavior using a UIWebView underneath the UINavigationBar, but I'm guessing it should be possible with any UIScrollView descendant. How can this behavior be implemented?

  • Loading css rules dynamically in Webkit (Safari/Chrome)

    Hi all, I currently have issues in Webkit(Safari and Chrome) were I try to load dynamically (innerHTML) some html into a div, the html contains css rules (...), after the html gets rendered the style definitions are not loaded (so visually I can tell the styles are not there and also if I search with javascript for them no styles are found). I have tried using a jquery plugin tocssRule(), it works but it is just too slow. Is there another way of getting webkit to load the styles dynamically? Thanks. Patrick

    Do I load the scripts/css again in other.html when I'm using the .load('other.html') from index.html? index.html = jQuery & cycle plugin, other.html = jQuery & cycle plugin FF & IE load the other.html fine when they're both (script/css) in the index.html. But Chrome & Safari act as if it can't read the script and css.
