Div not filling width of floated container (css expert needed

I know there are many variations of this question posted, but none I've found quite provide an answer that works for this case. I basically have two left floated divs. Inside those two divs are div headers and tabled content. I want the Div headers (Hour/Minute) to stretch to the width of the tabled content, but they only do this in FF and Chrome, not IE7. IE7 is my works official browser so the one I need it to work with the most. Object viewer control needed (like QuickWatch in VS)

Anyone know of any controls that you can add to your application to allow the user to check out the content of an object? I'm thinking of something like QuickWatch in Visual Studio, just list all properties of an object and its values and allow the user to drill down. I started writing one using reflection but it turned out be a lot of work to handle different kind of collections. This functionality would be used for debugging purposes mostly and not by regular users. I prefer WPF but Winforms would work as well.

Some help needed with a SQL query

Hello, I need some help with a MySQL query. I have two tables, one with offers and one with statuses. An offer can has one or more statuses. What I would like to do is get all the offers and their latest status. For each status there's a table field named 'added' which can be used for sorting. I know this can be easily done with two queries, but I need to make it with only one because I also have to apply some filters later in the project. Say i have the following line in my program: jobSetupErrors.append("abc"); In the case above where jobSetupErrors is a StringBuilder(), what i see happen is: New String Object is created and assigned value "abc" value of that String object is assigned to the existing StringBuilder object If that is correct, and I add 1 more line ... jobSetupErrors.append("abc"); logger.info("abc"); In the above example are we creating String object separately 2 times? If so, would it be more proper to do something like this? String a = "abc"; jobSetupErrors.append(a); logger.info(a); Is this a better approach? Please advise

Hi guys, I'm currently doing a highlighting function on a webpage and im using the jquery plugin for that. But in case of large amount of data on the page the whole process is slowing down which causes that inputbox is freezing untill the letter is hightlighted. So the typing is not smooth. I tryed to use a setTimeout but it seems doesnt help. Any ideas?

I've looked through the book numerous times and I can't, for the life of me, find the answer. Can anyone help explain this to me? Good Morning, I am trying to find a programmer to code a piece of custom software for my business. I plan on using this software to manage my business, and possibly sell it to other companies (in the same industry) at a later date. I've never hired a programmer before, so I'm not sure what to expect or where to begin. I know exactly what features I need, and how I want it laid out, I just need someone who can take my ideas and make it happen. This software will be used to manage customer information, and keep track of orders. What I think I need: * SQL Server or similar database that will be located at our office. * Desktop Application, that connects via LAN to the database server (cannot be browser based) * Multiple User Support (Simultaneous users accesing the system) * Needs to be scalable (currently we have 5 employees, but who knows what the future will bring) * Multi-Platform Support (Windows, Linux) I posted a job offer through elance, which seems to raise more questions than answers. How do I decide what language(s) will work best for my situation? (I have received offers for C#, Eclipse, .NET, Powerbuilder, etc. - I want to make sure that I choose the best one now, so I don't run into problems later) Does the programmer hold any rights to the software? I'm new to Java and struggling with something which I'm sure must have a simple answer but I can't seem to find it. I have an array of checkbox objects defined as: ArrayList<JCheckBox> checkBoxList A JPanel is created with a grid layout and the checkboxes are added to the JPanel and the ArrayList: for (int i = 0; i < 256; i++) { JCheckBox c = new JCheckBox(); c.setSelected(false); checkBoxList.add(c); mainPanel.add(c); } Yes, there are 256 checkboxes! The panel is added to a JFrame and eventually the GUI is displayed. The user can select any combination of the 256 checkboxes. My class implements Serializable and this ArrayList of checkboxes can be saved and restored using 'Save' and 'Load' GUI buttons. Design Advice Needed For Synonyms Database

I'm planning to put together a database that can be used to query synonyms of words. The database will end up huge, so the idea is to keep things running fast. I've been thinking about how to do this, but my database design skills are not up to scratch these days. My initial idea was to have each word stored in one table, and then another table with a 1 to many relationship where each word can be linked to another word and that table can be queried. The application I'm developing allows users to highlight a word, and then type in, or select some synonyms from the database for that word. The application learns from the user input so if someone highlights "car" and types in "motor" the database would be updated to link the relationship if it don't exist already. What I don't want to happen is for a user to type in the word "shop" and link it to the word car. So I'm thinking I will need to add some sort of weight to each relationship. Eventually the synonyms the users enter will be used so they can auto select common synonyms used with a certain word. The lower weight words will not be displayed so shop could never be a synonym of car unless it had a very high weight, and chances are nobody is going to do that. Does the above sound right? Can you offer any suggestions or improvements?

[C++] Needed: A simple C++ container (stack, linked list) that is thread-safe for writing

I am writing a multi-threaded program using OpenMP in C++. At one point my program forks into many threads, each of which need to add "jobs" to some container that keeps track of all added jobs. Each job can just be a pointer to some object. Basically, I just need the add pointers to some container from several threads at the same time. Is there a simple solution that performs well? After some googling, I found that STL containers are not thread-safe. Some stackoverflow threads address this question, but none form a consensus on a simple solution.

Quick introduction to Linux needed [closed]

Hi guys! I have to get into Linux ASAP and realy mean ASAP. I have installed Cygwin but as allways - things dont go as easy as one would like. First problem i enconter was - i choose KDE package, but there is no sign of KDE files anywhere in cygwin folder. How do i run KDE windows. Currently startx fires, but all looks ugly! My desire is to download and run Qt Creator. Seems that there is no cygwin package, but downloading source and compiling is good to go. Only that i have forgoten every linux command i ever knew! :D Please - what are default commands u use on linux? What does exec do? what ./ stands for? What is directory strucutre and why there is such mess in bin folder? Thanks god - i have windows over cygwin, so downloading files is not a problem, but again -how do i unpack them in linux style and how to i build? simply issue "make" command from folder, where i extracted files? Please help!

However, I do still need to make changes to other things sometimes so everytime i go to update model from database in the edmx it adds all the rowguids in all my tables everytime and i have to manually delete each one. Is there a way to handle this from happening? Is there a way I can maybe edit the T4 to maybe ignore that 'rowguid' column? Database first Entity framework
