I need to open a link from within jQuery but i need to avoid sending the referral information. In shorter words, i need to simulate rel="noreferrer"
Is it feasible?
I use jquery's .submit() to intercept user's submit event, however I found a problem.
When the user single click the submit button, the form is submitted normally, but if a user deliberately fast click it multiple times, it will submit multiple times, which will cause duplicated data in the database.
What's the solution for this kind of problem ?
I have a requirement to place text between brackets using jQuery; the content will be updated once an action occurs e.g. search.
The structure is: -
Placeholder Text Placeholder Text Placeholder Text ()
I've looked at a lot of various jQuery plugins that I thought I could tweak to get working the way I want but so far have been unsuccessful. I'm not sure if there is a plugin out there that meets these requirements or if I should just write my own (although I'm a bit of a novice!).
The requirements:
Scroll HTML containers left/right infintely in a loop/carousel
Scrolling action is triggered by mouseover on arrows
Scrolling action must be continuous during mouseover (i.e. doesn't pause after each container)
Number of containers is flexible
Hi, Disqus automatically places defined captions upon request. For example: Add new Comment
I've tried to change its value with jquery on ready():
$('#dsq-new-post h3').text('Paticipa con tu cuenta favorita');
No success :( ... how can i know when disqus script is finished parsing the data so i can change the caption value of h3?
Hi All,
Please anyone help me to create a slider control like this: http://www.protofunc.com/scripts/jquery/jmediaelement/demos/simple-controls-h264.html.
Geetha.
When I used datepicker with trigger icon so that users could choose date from clicking this icon or type directly in textbox (txtDate), I also used jquery validation to require textbox must be not empty.
But when a user submit the form with empty textbox (txtDate.Text=""), the error message of validation push trigger icon to the right. Could you tell me the solution? Thank you very much!
Hi all
I have a HTML table like below:
ColA ColB ColC ColD ColE ColF
Checked AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEEE
Unchecked AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEEE
Checked AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEEE
Checked AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEEE
Unchecked AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEEE
Checked AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEEE
Checked AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEEE
ColA is a Check box. I want to get the ColD value of all rows whose ColA is Checked. I want to use the jquery to do it. Does anyone meet it before?
Best Regards,
I am trying to use Jquery to display dates in a dropdown with interval of half month...
so the first value would be the coming month's 1st, then second will be the coming month's 15th and third value would be next to next month's first and so on...
If today date is less than 15th then the first value would be the 15th of current month.
What will be the best or a cleaner way to do this... (want to display in the dropdown)
Thanks
Can you do this, like you can with MooTools
http://ryanflorence.com/slideshow/#navigation-demo
in jQuery? So you can navigate like that and use left/right keys?
I'm trying to create a little search box that allows you to search Twitter based on the keyword you enter in the input field. While it's work, it only works if you press the Submit button. I would also like to be able to press the Enter or Return key to initiate the search. I've tried using the .sumbit function and wrapping my input around a form element with no success. Any insight would be greatly appreciate!
Live example: http://tinyurl.com/84axyym
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
function(data) {
$('#startSearch').click(function(){
$('#tweets .results').remove();
var searchTerm = 'http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=' + $('#twitterSearch').val() + '&callback=?'
$.getJSON(searchTerm, function(data) {
$.each(data.results, function() {
$('<div class="results"></div>')
.hide()
.append('<a class="userPicLink" href="http://twitter.com/' + this.from_user + '">' + '<img class="userImg" src="' + this.profile_image_url + '">' + '</a>')
.append('<span class="userName">' + '<a href="http://twitter.com/' + this.from_user + '">' + this.from_user + '</span>')
.append('<span class="userText">' + this.text + '</span>')
.append('<time class="textTime">' + relTime(this.created_at) + '</time>')
.appendTo('#tweets')
.fadeIn();
});
});
</script>
<body>
<label id="searchLabel" for="twitterSearch">Search</label>
<input type="search" list="searchSugg" id="twitterSearch" placeholder="css3 animation" required aria-required="true">
<input id="startSearch" type="submit">
<datalist id="searchSugg">
<option value="css3 mulitple backgrounds">
<option value="html5 video">
<option value="responsive web design">
<option value="twitter api">
</datalist>
<div id="tweets">

Using the jQuery below to toggle the hiding and showing of divs of text: how would I add some sort of indicator - like an up and down arrow as a graphic - to the titles when the divs are either open and closed? What's the best way to do that? Two images? A CSS sprite? And most importantly: how would that be integrated into the JS?
I've looked at other jQuery that assigns a random number to each div and then determines which are open and which are closed and toggles one of two images. But I'm using php in a WordPress loop to show a posts, and that gives problems with incrementing in the loop, so there must be an easier way that doesn't require changes in the name of the title div. Thanks....
This JS fires the showing and hiding. Each div can be expanded and collapsed independently.
$(document).ready(function() {
$('div.demo-show:eq(0)> div').hide();
$('div.demo-show:eq(0)> h3').click(function() {
$(this).next().slideToggle('fast');
});
});
This is the HTML it works with:
<div class="collapser">
<p class="title">Header-1 </p>
<div class="contents">Lorem ipsum</div>
<p class="title">Header-2</p>
<div class="contents">Lorem ipsum </div>
<p class="title">Header-3</p>
<div class="contents">Lorem ipsum</div>
</div>
The CSS is arbitrary:
.collapser {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
width: 500px;
}
.title {
margin: 1px;
color: #fff;
padding: 3px 10px;
cursor: pointer;
position: relative;
background-color:#c30;
}
.contents {
padding: 5px 10px;
background-color:#fafafa;
}
Any recommendations?
I have used Jquery already but I would like to really delve into it and find out how I can use it with asp.net, specifically instead of updatepanel and ajax toolkit.
I use asp.net forms.
I'm trying to fade an element in and out, but with a slight pause in between, it works without the pause, but when I add the pause using the jQuery delay()-function, it just stops;
Here's the code:
$('#headerimage2').each(function(){
for(i=1;i<50;i++){
$(this).fadeOut(1200).delay(1000).fadeIn(1000).delay(1000);
}
});
Why does the delay()-function (both first and second) break the loop?
I'm using json2.js to create a JSON object which JQUERY posts to the Server. The object looks like:
[{"locationID":"16","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"111","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"12","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"11","locationDesc":"XXXX"}]
Problem here is that XXXX sometimes contains quotes like "we're'" etc.... How should I handle this? Do you I escape somewhere or encode in some way?
Thanks
Hi there,
I'm looking for a jQuery plugin which does scrolling the element (div) when I hover the arrow, it should look like this: http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5716/scrollp.jpg and scroll automatically the content inside to the left/right only when user hovers arrows.
Is there anything like this?
Thanks a lot, Jakub
I have blocks of content that are toggled on/off via jQuery and I want to have the most recent one clicked to shuffle to the top of the content area.
There are 4 that can be enabled and if you do it in a random order, or even intended order, it is hard to tell which one you just opened if it's not in the view window.
Here is the page for reference http://jonrcoulter.com/
Hi all,
Please go to : http://gati.simptome-remedii.ro/ . As you can see there is a carousel effect in the header and it goes forward and backwards once you click on the arrows or press left/right key. But i want to display 1st panel along with 2 and 3 but it displaying 2nd panel along with 3 and 4 on load
This carousel effect uses jquery-1.3.1.min.js and slider.js
Is it possible to define a class with specific style attributes dynamically with jQuery, rather than setting the style of all elements with that class?
I could set the attributes of the class at the end of the script once all the elements have been created, but is that the best way to go about it? If I define the style of the class with $('.class').css('property','value'); at the beginning of the script, nothing would happen because the elements with class .class haven't been created yet, right?
I am using this technique to place default input in the text fields as a hint to users.
http://www.dailycoding.com/Posts/default_text_fields_using_simple_jquery_trick.aspx
I would like to also validate the fields using jquery validate.
How can i get the validater to ignore the default input?
Hey Guys
Im looking for a jquery or ajax file uploader, Im currently using the FancyUploader which worked great until Flash brought out their update making all flash progress bars absolete, now whenever I try to upload large files... it will fill the progress bar to 100% in a matter of seconds even though the actual upload finished minutes after. So im now looking for a new uploading script that DOESNT require flash but can still display the progress.
Any suggestions?
Using jquery UI 1.8's autocomplete, is there any known way to take the results and return them to a different div element on the page, or to customize how they look upon return? I want to have the results show up in a list that can be interacted with, essentially.
