  • Apache FOP in Visual Studio 2008

    I am writing some XML - PDF generating templates in Apache FOP for an asp web app. I need to use Visual Studio for my development. Visual studio has great editing and auto complete for regular XSL, I was wondering if there is any way to add this functionality for FOP tags. At least is there a way to stop it from thinking the file is hopelessly broken due to the tags? Thanks.

    My team uses SVN for our software platform, and we create tags periodically to help keep module versions straight. Best practice, as I understand it, is not to modify a tag once it has been created. However, it seems that sometimes the temptation is too great and a modification is made to one of the tags. Is there a way to prevent these kinds of checkins, or at least make them a complete pain so that we can discourage them automatically? Thanks, Joe

  • Logging in with webrat, celerity doesn't recognize that.

    I'm using cucumber with webrat, and I am just starting to integrate culerity/celerity. My webrat login steps have been working great, and I have them as a Background for many of my scenarios. The problem is that although I can log in successfully via webrat, my celerity specific step definitions don't seem to recognize that. I can check the session from the step def and it confirms that I have a valid user that is logged in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

    Hi, How can I implement an autocomplete using redis? Say for example I have an array ["alfred","joel","jeff","addick"]. When I type a I get ["alfred", "addick"] I hope you get the point. How can I implement this using redis commands efficiently(if possible but I think it is). It would be great if I could get some simple commands I can try out via telnet to mimic this behaviour.     hi! given a 3D grid, a 3d point as sphere center and a radius, i'd like to quickly calculate all cells contained or intersected by the sphere. Currently i take the the (gridaligned) boundingbox of the sphere and calculate the two cells for the min anx max point of this boundingbox. then, for each cell between those two cells, i do a box-sphere intersection test. would be great if there was something more efficient thanks!

  • Adding Emboss to a UILabel in a navigationItem.titleView (as seen with navigationItem.title)

    I'm trying to mimic the default emboss that automatically gets applied to navigationItem.title, as well as many other UIKit controls. As seen in this screenshot's title ("Table Cells"): I'm essentially trying to add 2 UILabels to the navigationItem.titleView, however the UILabels just show up as flatly drawn and it really just doesn't feel/look right :P I've thought about playing with shadows, but that would only give the embossed look (if even that) on one side of the label. Any ideas would be great! Thanks

Does anyone know of APIs that can take free form text and return an image that best represents the text? Right now, we're feeding the whole text to Google Image Search, but sometimes the extraneous words (e.g., at, for, $8.99) skew the query and induce weird results.

    Hi, does anyone know of a very simple SQL Server client tool - that does the same basic functions as Management Studio (i.e. choose a database and run a query - doesn't need an Object Explorer, or anything fancy)?     Hey guys, I'm developing an extension for Safari 5 at the moment. In my extension, I use an additional toolbar, with selectboxes in it. Now, it would be great to style these like the folders in the bookmarks toolbar look. I know that it would be possible to replace my select with a completely styleable ul-list or somethin like that, but maybe there is a simpler solution.   • Problem with GetDefaultPrinter() over a VPN c++

    I am writing an application that gets its dimensions from the paper ratio of the default printer of the local computer. This all works well unless the default printer is over a VPN. When this is the case, calling GetDefaultPrinter() takes too long. I need to find a way to put a time constraint on GetDefaultPrinter() and if it exceeds that constraint, break out of the function.   • Avoid hardcoding iPhone screen size with programmatic view creation

    Hi, I was looking up how to create a view programmatically and found the following example code: self.view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480)]; This works great, except I don't like that it hardcodes the size of the screen. Is there a way to look up the size of the screen? An important point someone brought up is that if the app is running during a phone call then the screen will be slightly smaller because of the green "return to call" bar.
