• Logging extra fields with Elmah Error Table?

  I want to add my own session variable to elmah error log table and display it. I already have modified the source code and added the new fields to Error.cs and other fields but I don't know but when I assign an HttpContext.Current.Session["MyVar"].tostring() value to my field in the constructor it stops logging exceptions and does not log any exception. I just need to get the value of the session variable is there other way for this. I read a post which he added fields for the email but it does not say where exactly should I get the session value.

  Hi guys, I have a very basic query string which passes a ID to a receiving page. On that page, I need to dynamically call the YouTube API, giving my playlistID. I'm having to use PHP for this, and it's a little out of my comfort zone, so hopefully someone can wade in with a quick fix for me. • How can I retain the editing in the tableView of the search result with UISearchDisplayController?

  I want to search a table in editing mode, but when I type a letter the variable tableView.editing is changed to NO. And when I cancel the search, the tableView.editing return to YES. I'd like to retain the editing YES in the result of the search. I put breakpoint in several methods.   My question is about creating a secure log in routine. After comparing the user name and password to the stored values I set a session variable called logged to true. Then as the user surfs around the web page I just check the logged variable for true or false to determine if the user should have access. This is my first time creating something like this. Is this secure? I feel like there is something else that I should be doing to make sure that users are valid.

This approach was painfully slow, not practicable and not working in all cases at all...

  I am using a magic getter/setter class for my session variables, but I don't see any difference between normal setters and getters. The code: class session { public function __set($name, $value) { $_SESSION[$name] = $value; } public function __unset($name) { unset($_SESSION[$name]); } public function __get($name) { if(isset($_SESSION[$name])) { return $_SESSION[$name]; } } } Now the first thing I noticed is that I have to call $session->_unset('var_name') to remove the variable, nothing 'magical' about that. Secondly when I try to use $session->some_var this does not work. I can only get the session variable using $_SESSION['some_var']. I have looked at the PHP manual but the functions look the same as mine. Am I doing something wrong, or is there not really anything magic about these functions.

  Using Eclipse + PDT, I know that you can specify the return type of a method or the type of a variable within a method via type hints. How about class fields? Can I declare the type of a field in order to enable autocompletion for that variable? I tried something on the lines of: class MyClass { protected $Field; /* @var $Field MyType */ ... but it doesn't work. • (iPhone SDK) How to link instance variables to a specific UILabel

  I'm using the iPhone SDK to build a simple application. I've created a brand new class which has a single variable. I need to make 5 instances of that class, which I have no trouble doing. I can create those instances and also set the variables without issue. What i do need to know is this: How do I link each of the 5 different instances of the variable to different and specific UILabels? Would I be better to create a method that dynamically creates and positions the labels? Thanks for your help in advance, I'm now to this iphone programming thing. • Installing ant; clearly misunderstanding JAVA_HOME

  Hey all, I am installing ant on a Windows XP machine, and am following the instructions at Apache's manual site. It said to set JAVA_HOME, so I checked, saw there was no environment variable named JAVA_HOME, made one, and set it to "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_19" When I try to run ant debug, however, it tells me that JAVA_HOME is currently set to "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6" I'm guessing JAVA_HOME isn't an environment variable. But if it isn't one, I'm at a loss as to where to start looking for it. Anybody know? Edit: Oh yeah - it's bugging me for tools.jar as well, but I'm guessing that when I fix the JAVA_HOME issue, that will help the terminal find tools.jar as well. Or maybe I'm wrong. Thanks

  I have some xml that I want to process using xslt. A good amount of the data comes through in key value pairs (see below). I am struggling with how to extract the value base on the key into a variable. I would like to be able to do something like this: <xsl:variable name="foo" select="/root/entry[key = 'foo']/value"/> but that doesn't seem to work. Here is sample xml. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <root> <entry> <key> foo </key> <value> bar </value> </entry> </root> What would the correct xpath be for this?

• How can I pass data from an aspx page to an ascx modal popup?

  I'm fairly new to ASP.NET and trying to learn how things are done. I come from a C# background so the code-behind portion is easy, but thinking like a web developer is unfamiliar. I have an aspx page that contains a grid of checkboxes. I have a button that is coded via a Button_Click event to collect a list of which rows are checked and create a session variable out of that list. The same button is referenced (via TargetControlID) by my ascx page's ModalPopupExtender which controls the panel on the ascx page. When the button is clicked, the modal popup opens but the Button_Click event is never fired, so the modal doesn't get its session data. Since the two pages are separate, I can't call the ModalPopupExtender from the aspx.cs code, I can't reach the list of checkboxes from the ascx.cs code, and I don't see a way to populate my session variable and then programmatically activate some other hidden button or control which will then open my modal popup. Any thoughts?

Bonus question: Is it neccessary to clean up the passed variable with "Set workFolder = Nothing" or does VBSCript do that automatically when it terminates? Maybe "Set File = Nothing" and "Set FSO = Nothing" is unneccessary also? Please let me know if you know the answer to both these questions.

• git- how to troubleshoot "cannot find command"

  I need help getting git extensions to run with msysgit. I have had bad luck with extensions git-tfs and git-fetchall, in both cases it is the same problem. The addon will require a file to be placed where git can find it (git-tfs.exe and git-fetchall.sh). I understand this to mean the files need to be in a directory that is in the 'PATH' environment variable. In both cases I get stuck at this point: $ git-diffall bash: git-diffall: command not found When I run echo %PATH% from a regular command shell, it shows my path variable includes the directories where git-diffall and git-tfs are. How can I debug this, or am I missing something? Is there a way within msysgit to verify the command search path is what I expect?
