  • Inserting a WAV at a certain point in an audio file using python

    My problem is the following: I have a 2-minute long WAV file, and my aim is to insert another WAV file (7 seconds long), at a certain point in the first WAV file (say, 0:48), essentially combining the two WAVs, using python. Unfortunately I haven't been able to figure out how to do that, and was wondering if there was some obvious solution that I was missing, or if it is even feasible to do with python. Is there perhaps a library available that might provide a solution? Thanks to all in advance.

I am not familiar with the various matlab fuctions -- it seems like there should be one for this. I've entered some data into R, and I've put a smoothingSpline through it using the following command. smoothingSpline = smooth.spline(year, rate, spar=0.35) plot(x,y) lines(smoothingSpline) Now I'd like to measure some limits (or where the curve is at a given y point), and maybe to some predictive analysis on points that extend beyond the graph. Are there commands in R for doing this?

    Whereas 99.99 * 0.01 = 0.99 Clearly this is the age old floating point rounding issue, however the rounding error in this case seems quite large to me; what I mean is I might have expected a result of 0.99990000001 or some similar 'close' result. And for the record I got the same answer in a JavaVM and in a .Net environment.

  • Sending floating point values between processes with pipes in C

    Is there a standard way of sending floating point values from a child process to a parent process in C. I have a some calculations where I want to fork a process, then have the child do some busy work, the parent do something else, and then the child send its values (which are doubles) back to the parent (presumably through a pipe). Clearly the parent could parse the stream, but I'm just wondering if there's a cleaner way?

Do a merge with the 'target origin' Change the origin repo in my config file to the 'target origin' Also, if my local repo is not entirely identical to the new origin (say, I've resolved some merge conflicts in my favor), will these changes be pushed to the new origin when I do a git push, or will only commits made after the change of origin get pushed?

    I've got a HashMap and I need to fetch an item by its integer value. I notice there's a containsValue() function, but it would appear I still have to iterate through the map to find the correct index anyway. My question is; why use containsValue() if I'm required to traverse it afterwards? Also, am I missing the point completely? ;-)

  • Simple Cisco ASA 5505 config issue

    I have a Cisco ASA setup with two interfaces: inside: 192.168.2.254 / 255.255.255.0 SecLevel:100 outside: 192.168.3.250 / 255.255.255.0 SecLevel: 0 I have a static route setup to allow PCs on the inside network to access the internet via a gateway on the outside interface (3.254): outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.3.254 This all works fine. I now need to be able to access a PC on the outside interface (3.253) from a PC on the inside interface on port 35300. I understand I should be able to do this with no problems, as I'm going from a higher security level to a lower one. However I can't get any connection. Do I need to set up a seperate static route? Perhaps the route above is overriding what I need to be able to do (is it routing ALL traffic through the gateway?) Any advice on how to do this would be apprecaited.   • WiFi signal is lost every 3 minutes

    For several weeks now my Android phone has been losing it's WiFi signal momentarily, typically at about 3 minute intervals (about 3 minutes, 1.5 seconds) and occasionally at some longer interval that always seems to be just over 3 minutes. This causes an interruption of several seconds while the WiFi connection is re-established and typically fails any kind of download/streaming that is happening, makes web sites "unreachable" and generally makes the phone unusable as a data device due to the frequency. The signal remains down for about a second, but the phone takes a few more seconds to reconnect to the router. This happens regardless of proximity to the router, which otherwise show a very strong signal - usually -40 to -30 dBm or better in the same room, nowhere less than 060 dBm anywhere in the house. Changing channels does not help (I've tried 1, 4, 8 and 9). Nor does turning off the router's guest access. Nor does turning off the 5.0 GHz band. Monitoring the signal on my phone with WiFi analyzer, shows all WiFi signals on all channels drop to nothing when the WiFi connection is lost (there are two other networks on different channels which are strong enough to be relevant, with about 6 others constantly fading in and out). WiFi analyzer shows 3 separate signals for my router, the main 2.4 GHz, the guest 2.4 GHz and the 5.0 GHz. Using WiFi Analyzer on my wife's phone side-by-side shows no change in signal when my phone drops, nor does her phone drop. Monitoring the signal using our laptop, side-by-side likewise shows no signal loss and likewise the laptop does not lose it's WiFi connection. But, at work, the phone seems to not exhibit the same behavior, or, if it does, it's very occasional. Monitoring it all day at work I only saw the signal drop 3 or 4 times. The signal strength of the various networks there is comparatively weak. AT&T were super helpful: "Sorry, we can't help you with WiFi problems. You could try doing a factory reset on your phone". </sarcasm The router is relatively new, but has been working fine with this phone since last Dec. Phone : Motorola Atrix (about 8 months old). Router : Belkin N750 DB (F9K1103 v1 (01C)). Router Firmware: 1.00.46 (2011/10/28 6:37:11). Security : WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK)
