  • Java AD Authentication across Trusted Domains

    I am trying to implement Active Directory authentication in Java which will be ran from a Linux machine. Our AD set-up will consist of multiple servers that share trust relationships with one another so for our test environment we have two domain controllers: test1.ad1.foo.com who trusts test2.ad2.bar.com.   • override __set in __construct() in php?

    I have a class based on database values. I'm using __set to automatically sync database values with the class properties. Set checks an array of database fields that it is allowed to update in the database. The field 'id' isn't in the list, so __set will throw an exception if you try to do $objDbRow->id = 5;. However, there is one time when I do want to set the id property of the object, and that's on instantiation. So in __constuct, I have $this->id = $id (where $id is passed to __construct). However, __set seems to be intercepting the setting here, because an exception is being thrown on construction. What's the way to get around this? I suppose I also have a boolean flag, like $instantiated, that __set() would check before it does it's field whitelist checking. But that feels inelegant.

  • Java - Loading dlls by a relative path and hide them inside a jar

    Hi guys, I am developing a Java application that should be release as a jar. This program depends on c++ external libraries called by JNI. To load them, I use the method System.load with an absolute path and this works fine. However, I really want to "hide" them inside the jar, so I have created a package to collect them. This forces me to load an relative path - the package path. By this approach, I let the user run the jar in any directory, without being worried about linking the dll's or bored with a previous installation process. This throws the expected exception: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Expecting an absolute path of the library How can I get this working? Thanks for your help!

  • Run .exe packaged in .jar

    I am trying to merge 2 programs I have made to one .jar file. One program is a .jar written in java and the second one is an .exe written in c++. I put both files to the new .jar, wrote this code but it didn't work. When this code was exported to .jar and executed neither of 2 files ran and I got error "no main manifest attribute, in merged.jar" in cmd.     Hello all, I am working on building a web service (using c#) and this web service will use MS Sql server database. Now, I am trying to build an (exceptions log system) for this web service. Simply, I want to save every exception on the web service for future use (bug tracing), so, where is the best place to save these exceptions? Is it good idea to save it in the database? What if the exception is in the connection to the database itself? I really appreciate your help and your ideas. Thanks
