  • Can't write the SysWow64 value to registry with vbscript for Screensaver

    Scripts, registries, screen-savers, oh my! I'm trying to use a screen-saver on a Windows XP 64 bit machine which uses a .NET app which makes an interop call which relies on some x86 Shockwave Dlls (some Shockwave animation). Everything should be in the %systemroot%\WINNT\SysWOW64 directory. When the timeout for the screensaver occurs, the process should looks like this: Screensaver.scr - .NET app - shockwave animation. During installation I want a vbscript to my screen-saver file to copy the Screensaver.scr to the SysWow64 directory and then set the proper registry key to this file for Windows to launch the screen-saver. The code is something like this: Dim sScreenSaver, tScreenSaver sScreenSaver = "C:\SourceFiles\bin\ScreenSaver.scr" 'screensaver tScreenSaver = "C:\winnt\SysWOW64\" Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") 'script shell to run objects Set FSO = createobject("scripting.filesystemobject") 'file system object 'copy screensaver FSO.CopyFile sScreenSaver, tScreenSaver, True 'set screen saver Dim p1 p1 = "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\" WshShell.RegWrite p1 & "SCRNSAVE.EXE", (tScreenSaver & "ScreenSaver.scr") After installation, I can verify the the Screensaver exists in the correct directory. However, the registry entry is not correct. In both the 32 and 64 bit regedit I see the HKCU\ControlPanel\Desktop\SCRNSAVE.EX is set to: C:\WINNT\system32\Screensaver.scr This isn't right. The screen-saver won't run from this directory. It only runs from SysWOW64. If I manually edit the registry with regedit to the correct SysWOW64 path everything works fine. Is this a problem with using the script or is this a Windows registry redirection, or filesystem redirection problem? You'd think this would be simple...

    I'm, by no means, JS fluent, so forgive me if im asking for some really basic stuff, but I've not being able to find a proper answer to my question. Im writting my first Node.js (plus Extra Framework and Socket.io) app and Im having some fun setting up the server side of a FB-like messenger (surprise!!!). So, let's say I have this data structure to store online users(This is a JSON Array, but I'm not sure it is the best way to do it or should I go with Javascript Objects): [ { "site": 45, "users": [ { "idUser": 5, "idSocket": "qwe87r7w8qwe", "name": "Carlos Ray Norris" }, { "idUser": 6, "idSocket": "v8d9d0fgfs7d", "name": "John Connor" } ] }, { "site": 48, "users": [ { "idUser": 22, "idSocket": "qwe87r7w8qwe", "name": "David Bowie" }, { "idUser": 23, "idSocket": "v8d9d0fgfs7d", "name": "Barack H. Obama" } ] } ] What I want to do is to search in the array for x value given y. In this case, retrieving the idSocket knowing the idUser WITHOUT having to run through the array values. So I have basically 2 questions: first, what would be the proper way to store users online? and secondly, how to find values matching with the values I already know (find the idSocket that has a given idUser). I would like a pure JS approach(or using some of the tools given by Node, Socket.io or Express), but if that's not possible then I can look for some JQuery.

    Hi, I'm trying to create an index representing the first letter value of each record in a Core Data store to be used in a table view controller. I'm using a snippet of the code from Apple's documentation. I would simply like to produce an array or dictionary of distinct values as the result. My store already has the character defined within each record object. Questions: 1) I'm having a problem understanding NSDictionaryResultType. Where does the resulting dictionary object get received so that I can assign it's keys to the view controller? The code seems to only return an array. 2) If I include the line containing NSDictionaryResultType, I get no returns. 3) I realize that I could do this in a loop, but I'm hoping this will work.   • Ruby: Why is Array.sort slow for large objects?

    A colleague needed to sort an array of ActiveRecord objects in a Rails app. He tried the obvious Array.sort! but it seemed surprisingly slow, taking 32s for an array of 3700 objects. So just in case it was these big fat objects slowing things down, he reimplemented the sort by sorting an array of small objects, then reordering the original array of ActiveRecord objects to match - as shown in the code below. Tada! The sort now takes 700ms. That really surprised me. Does Ruby's sort method end up copying objects about the place rather than just references?     I have a JSON string array of objects like this. So if my variable myID is 5, I want to change the title "title 5" to new title, and so on.     I have a bag defined for a many-to-many list: <class name="Author" table="Authors"> <id name="Id" column="AuthorId"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> <property name="Name" /> <bag name="Books" table="Author_Book_Map" where="IsDeleted=0" fetch="join"> <key column="AuthorId" /> <many-to-many class="Book" column="BookId" where="IsDeleted=0" /> </bag> </class> If I return all author objects using something like the following, I will get what initially appeared to be duplicate Author records: Session.Query<Author>().List<Author>() The extra author objects are created when an author is mapped to Book objects that have IsDeleted = 1 and IsDeleted = 0. Rather than creating one Author object with an enumerable that contains only the books with IsDeleted = 0, it will create two author objects. The first author object has a Books enumerable that contains books with IsDeleted = 0. The second author object will contain an enumerable of null book objects. Similarly, if an object only has one book map, and that map points to a book with IsDeleted = 1, then an author object is returned with a Books collection having one null object. I'm thinking part of the problem stems from the map table objects linking to rows that satisfy the where condition on the bag object but do not meet the many-to-many where condition. This is happening with NHibernate version 3.0.0.4980. Is this a configuration issue or something else?

  • Silverlight ~ MVVM ~ Dynamic setting of Style property based on model value

    I have a class called Question that represents a question and it's answer. I have an application that renders an ObservableCollection of Question objects. Each Question is rendered as a StackPanel that contains a TextBlock for the question verbiage, and a TextBox for the user to enter in an answer. The questions are rendered using an ItemsControl, and I have initially set the Style of the Questions's StackPanel using a StaticResource key called 'IncorrectQuestion' (defined in UserControl.Resources section of the page). In the UserControl.Resources section, I've also defined a key calld 'CorrectQuestion' which I need to somehow apply to the Question's StackPanel when the user correctly answers the question. My problem is I'm not sure how to dynamically change the Style of the StackPanel, specifically within the constraints of a ViewModel class (i.e. I don't want to put any style selection code in the View's code-behind). My Question class has an IsCorrect property which is accurately being set when the correction is answered. I'd like to somehow reflect the IsCorrect value in the form of a Style selection. How do I do that?

  • Empty value when iterating a dictionary with .iteritems() method

    I am having some weird trouble with dictionaries, I am trying to iterate pairs from a dictionary to pass to another function. The loop for the iterator though for some reason always returns empty values. Here is the code: def LinktoCentral(self, linkmethod): if linkmethod == 'sim': linkworker = Linker.SimilarityLinker() matchlist = [] for k,v in self.ToBeMatchedTable.iteritems(): matchlist.append(k, linkworker.GetBestMatch(v, self.CentralDataTable.items())) Now if I insert a print line above the for loop: matchlist = [] print self.ToBeMatchedTable.items() for k,v in self.ToBeMatchedTable.iteritems(): matchlist.append(k, linkworker.GetBestMatch(v, self.CentralDataTable.items())) I get the data that is supposed to be in the dictionary printed out. The values of the dictionary are list objects. An example tuple I get from the dictionary when printing just above the for loop: >>> (1, ['AARP/United Health Care', '8002277789', 'PO Box 740819', 'Atlanta', 'GA', '30374-0819', 'Paper', '3676']) However, the for loop gives empty lists to the linkworker.GetBestMatch method. If I put a print line just below the for loop, here is what I get: Code: matchlist = [] for k,v in self.ToBeMatchedTable.iteritems(): print self.ToBeMatchedTable.items() matchlist.append(k, linkworker.GetBestMatch(v, self.CentralDataTable.items())) ## Place holder for line to send match list to display window return matchlist Result of first iteration: >>> (0, ['', '', '', '', '', '', '', '']) I literally have no idea whats going on, there is nothing else going on while this loop is executed. Any stupid mistakes I made?

Is there any other way of doing this? I'm thinking of the following, but the current setup is really the most convenient one since I also have to use the data on the client side: store the product details in a file. So something like ASIN123.json store the product details in one big file. (I'm guessing it will be a drag to extract data from this file) store each of the fields in the details in its own table field Thanks in advance!

    Hello, I'm attempting to load data from an undocumented API (OsiriX). Getting the NSManagedObject like this: NSManagedObject *itemStudy = [[BrowserController databaseOutline] itemAtRow: [[BrowserController databaseOutline] selectedRow]]; works just fine. But getting the NSManagedObject like this: seriesArray = [_context executeFetchRequest:request error:&error]; NSManagedObject *itemSeries = [seriesArray objectAtIndex:0]; Generates an error when I call [itemSeries valueForKey:@"type"] 2010-05-27 11:04:48.178 rcOsirix[27712:7b03] Exception: [<NSManagedObject 0xd30fd0> valueForUndefinedKey:]: the entity Series is not key value coding-compliant for the key "type". This confuses me thoroughly. Granted, the objects are different but neither of them contain the key @"type" and they both should throw errors, yet the Osirix code Tests for both conditions: if ([[item valueForKey:@"type"] isEqualToString:@"Series"]) { ... } if ([[item valueForKey:@"type"] isEqualToString:@"Study"]) { ... } And throws no errors. Yet when I load an NSManagedObject of the same exact model and entity @"Series" it throws the 'no key value' when passed into the conditions above. Am I missing something? Both the superentity and subentities of itemSeries and itemStudy are nil so they don't inherit from something that has KVC @"type". I'm totally at a loss as to explain what is going on. --- EDIT --- I know no one can explain what is going on... but maybe where to start looking?     I have an C# form application that use an access database. This application works perfectly in debug and release. It works on all version of Windows. But it crash on one computer with Windows 7. EDIT, after some debugging with messagebox on the computer that have the problem, here is the code that bug.The error is catched on the cmd.ExecuteReader().     I have a database and the database populates a listview. when i long press a list item from the listview i get a context menu where i have the option to edit. When the edit option is clicked i open an activity and get all the values of the respective fields from the database.     Hi, I'm trying to display all orders placed and I have a primary accessdatasource control that has a select query to get the customer information and the orderID. I want to use the orderID value from this first query as a parameter for the secondary accessdatasource control that selects the product information of the products in the order. In plain english, I want to:- select product info from product table where orderID = ?
