    Hello, 1) I've a Product table with 4 columns: ProductID, Name, Category, and Price. Here's the regular linq to query this table. public ActionResult Index() { private ProductDataContext db = new ProductDataContext(); var products = from p in db.Products where p.Category == "Soccer" select new ProductInfo { Name = p.Name, Price = p.Price} return View(products); } Where ProductInfo is just a class that contains 2 properties (Name and Price). The Index page Inherits ViewPage - IEnumerable - ProductInfo. Everything works fine. 2) To dynamicaly execute the above query, I do this: Public ActionResult Index() { var products = db.Products .Where("Category = \"Soccer\"") .Select(/* WHAT SOULD I WRITE HERE TO SELECT NAME & PRICE?*/) return View(products); } I'm using both 'System.Lind.Dynamic' namespace and the DynamicLibrary.cs (downloaded from ScottGu blog). Here are my questions: What expression do I use to select only Name and Price? (Most importantly) How do I retrieve the data in my view? (i.e. What type the ViewPage inherits? ProductInfo?)

    I'm trying to select dynamic ids when a user types something into the input fields. My app spits out the input fields in the following format: <input id="student_1_first_name" /> <input id="student_1_last_name" /> <input id="student_2_first_name" /> <input id="student_2_last_name" /> <input id="student_3_first_name" /> <input id="student_3_last_name" /> etc. For example, I tried doing this to select the end of the id string: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready( function (){ $("input[id$=_first_name]").bind("keyup", run_some_function_here); run_some_function_here(); $("input[id$=_last_name]").bind("keyup", run_some_function_here); run_some_function_here(); } ); </script> When I do that, Jquery can't seem to select the input ids, so the functions don't run.     Guys, Long time Java developer here, but I've spent more time working with Ruby over the past 3 years or so as far as web applications go. I really have enjoyed it, but there are concerns I've uncovered that I won't cover here. Now that I've found the Play! framework, I'm thrilled about the prospect of having a Rails-like experience with Java's speed and reliability. Aside from what Play! provides out of the box, I'm looking for recommendations on "can't miss" libraries and tools for the Java developer used to pragmatic, dynamic experiences. I've found Project Lombok, which looks like a very intriguing way to eliminate a lot of the boiler plate, unnecessary Java noise. What else should I know about? I know Google has released quite a few libraries over the past three years that I've heard mentioned on the Java Posse, but I can't recall exactly what they are. I'm sure I've missed others in my absence. So, what makes up your essential Java toolbox these days? Thanks for your answers!

    The task is to create event handlers in runtime. I need the one method to be called with different parameter value for different events. The events and their number are only known in runtime. So I'm trying to generate dynamic methods, each of which will be assigned to some event, but in general they all just pass some value to an instance method and call it. It would be great if something similar could be done the easier way. I mean passing some value at subscribing stage and then obtaining it when the event is triggered.   • What would be the best way to install (distribute) dynamic libraries in Mac OSX using CMake/Cpack ?

    Hello all, I have a project whose artifacts are two dynamic libraries, let's say libX.dylib and libY.dylib (or .so for linux distributions). There are no executables. Now I would like to distribute these libraries. Since I already use CMake to compile it, I looked at CPack and successfully generated .tgz and .deb packages for Linux. However, for Mac OSX I have no idea and the CPack Wiki about its generators did not help me much. I managed to generate a PackageMaker package, but as clearly stated at this packagemaker howto, there is no uninstall option when using this util. I then read a bit about Bundles, but I feel lost specially since I have no executable. Question: What is the correct way to generate a package for Mac OSX using CPack? My ideal scenario would be either something that installs as easily as a bundle or as a deb file in debian/ubuntu. Thanks for your help Edit One more detail: the code to one of these libraries is not open, so I can't expect the users to do a cmake; make; make install That's why I want a .deb, .tar.gz, bundle or whatsoever.

  • A dynamic array of a class, inside another separate class?

    I'm working on a robot localization simulator and I created a class called "landmark". The end result is going to be a robot that is always centered and always faces the top of the screen. As it turns, the birds eye view map will rotate around the robot. To accomplish this, I'm assuming I can rotate one class and have all elements inside rotate as well. So, the landmark class has properties x,y, label, and radius. This is suppose to simulate a tree location in a forest. To test everything, I need "forest data," and I wrote a script to generate 100 trees in a 100m x 100m area. The script automatically generates values within an acceptable range for x,y, radius. The generated data is stored in an object called tempForest and is 100x3. Ideally, I want to create a class called "landmarks" (plural) that has 100 landmark instances inside. How would I instantiate 100 instances of landmark in one instance of landmarks using that randomly generated data? Ideally, I'd just type treeBeacons = landmarks(); and it would randomly populate 100 (user definable, set in config file) instances with x, y, radius data. I'm not sure how to deal with a dynamic array of class "Landmark", inside another single class "landmarks." Any ideas?

    I've been looking for a tutorial and answer to this for a while but can't find what I'm looking for. I am loading html text into a dynamic textfield, and I have a scrollbar controlling the scroll using the code below. What I want to do is also add scroll up/down buttons and have the scroll bar move in relation to the text scroll. I was just going to use "tracklistingtext.scrollV -- " for the scroll buttons, but right now the scroll bar doesn't recognize the text movement.     I need to read a large (2000x2000) matrix of binary data from a file into a dynamic array with Delphi 2010. I don't know the dimensions until run-time. I've never read raw data like this, and don't know IEEE so I'm posting this to see if I'm on track. I plan to use a TFileStream to read one row at a time. I need to be able to read as many of these formats as possible: 16-bit two's complement binary integer 32-bit two's complement binary integer 64-bit two's complement binary integer IEEE single precision floating-point For 32-bit two's complement, I'm thinking something like the code below. Changing to Int64 and Int16 should be straight forward. How can I read the IEEE? Am I on the right track? Any suggestions on this code, or how to elegantly extend it for all 4 data types above? Since my post-processing will be the same after reading this data, I guess I'll have to copy the matrix into a common format when done. I have no problem just having four procedures (one for each data type) like the one below, but perhaps there's an elegant way to use RTTI or buffers and then move()'s so that the same code works for all 4 datatypes?   • How Best to Replace Ugly Queries and Dynamic PL/SQL with C#?

    Hi, I write a lot of one-off Oracle SQL queries (in Toad), and sometimes they can get complex, involving lots of unions, joins, and subqueries, and sometimes requiring dynamic SQL. That is, sometimes SQL queries require set based processing along with significant procedural processing. This is what PL/SQL is custom made for, but as a language it does not begin to compare to C#. Now and then I convert a PL/SQL procedure to C#, and am always amazed at how much cleaner and easier to both read and write the C# version is. The C# program might for example construct a SQL query string piece by piece and/or run several queries and process them as needed. The C# version is usually much faster as well, which must mean that I'm not very good at PL/SQL either. I do not currently have access to LINQ. My question is, how best to package all these little C# programs, which are really just mini reports, that is, replacements for ugly SQL queries? Right now I'm actually using NUnit to hold them, and calling each report a [Test], even though they aren't really tests. NUnit just happens to provide a convenient packaging framework.

  • Connecting to a WSE 3.0 Web Service From a WCF Client

    I'm having difficulty connecting to a 3rd party WSE 3.0 web service from a WCF client. I have implemented the custom binding class as indicated in this KB article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms734745.aspx The problem seems to have to do with the security assertion used by the web service - UsernameOverTransport. When I attempt to call a method, I get the following exception: System.InvalidOperationException: The 'WseHttpBinding'.'[namespace]' binding for the 'MyWebServiceSoap'.'[namespace]' contract is configured with an authentication mode that requires transport level integrity and confidentiality. However the transport cannot provide integrity and confidentiality.. It is expecting a username, password, and CN number. In the example code supplied to us by the vendor, these credentials are bundled in a Microsoft.Web.Services3.Security.Tokens.UsernameToken.   • High CPU from httpd process

    I am currently getting high CPU on a server that is just running a couple of sites with very low traffic. One of the sites is in still development going live soon. However, this site is very very slow...When browsing through its pages I can see that the CPU goes from 30% to 100% for httpd (see top output below). I have tuned httpd & MySQL, Apache Solr, Tomcat for high performance, and I am using APC.     I'm converting a web app from apache to nginx. In apache's httpd.conf I have: ProxyPass /proxy/ http:// ProxyPassReverse /proxy/ http:// The idea is the client send this url: http://web-server-domain/proxy/login-server-addr/loginUrl.php?user=xxx&pass=yyy and the web server calls: http://login-server-addr/loginUrl.php?user=xxx&pass=yyy My nginx.conf is attached below and it is not working. At the moment it looks like it is calling the server, but returning an application error. This seems promising but any attempt to debug this failed! I can't trace any of the calls as nginx refuses to place them in the error file. Also, placing echo statement on the login server did not help either which is weird. The nginx documentation isn't very helpful about this. Any suggestion on how to configure a proxy_pass?     I am using ssh as a SOCKS server by running this command on the server: ssh -f2qTnND *:1080 root@localhost There is one problem: anybody can connect to the server and use it's internet connection. Options: To use iptables to filter access to the server, but I connect to the server from various non-statically allocated IP addresses so I would have to edit very frequently those filters which can be annoying. To install a SOCKS server on the remote. Ultimately this is the last option if there is no other simpler way to do it. (I am very lazy) Launching the same command on clients machines. The problem here is that some clients don't run on Linux and it is awkward to set up the tunnel (Windows + Putty). Is there a way to add authentication to a SOCKS server made using ssh? Bonus question: How to add encryption between the client and the server (made using ssh)?

    I feel like a grandpa from 1996 asking this, but is it at all possible to view a representation of a particular screen that was rendered as part of a java-based online checkout process I executed a couple days ago? I haven't cleared my browser cache or temp files or anything, and I don't think I've restarted the comp or even the browser since. I'm using mac OS X 10.6.8, and the page(s) were viewed with Chrome version 21.0.1180.89 in standard mode (not incognito). Specifically the page in question was part of Verizon Wireless's 'iconic' contract/checkout process, which leads the user through several pages to make selections on various criteria and seems to be based on java. (It's clear I can't achieve what I'm looking for by visiting current versions of these pages on the web…I should actually probably disable my network adapter while testing this out). The cache folder seems promising, but I don't know what to make of all that hexadecimal mess - if it contains what I'm looking for and if so, how to view it. Finally, the third thing I've come across is the Google Chrome cache folder on my local machine, at ~/Library/Caches/Google/Chrome/ then there are 'Default' and 'Media Cache' folders within. There are ~4,000 files in the former averaging ~100kb each, and 100 files in the latter averaging ~900kb each. The filenames all start "f_00xxxx" except for files titled data_0 through data_4 in each folder. I'm not sure how to observe the contents of these files and don't really want to start opening them up and potentially overwriting existing cached pages, as I notice there are already some holes in the arrangement of the files which I have never deleted manually. Hopefully this is an easy question to answer for someone who knows this stuff, admittedly web stuff is my weak point. As such, I've spent the past five hours searching around and trying to provide all the information I can. I'm probably asking for a miracle - like can those cached pages full of hexadecimal data be used to recreate the representation of the information that was on screen during the process? Or could screenshots of the previously viewed webpages be lurking in the /Caches folder? I have doubt because the content wasn't viewed at a permanent link, rather it seems like the on-screen information was served by Verizon's db, and probably securely so. I'm just not sure if Chrome saves the visual rendering of the page contents somewhere, even just temporarily. I have configured a DHCP pool for the 10.0.0.0/24 network. I have excluded 10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.99 from the DHCP pool. I want to add a static DHCP pool for stuff and I want DHCP to statically assign them the addresses of my choice below 100. Actually, I don't care what addresses I statically assign. They can be anything in the pool for all I care, I just want it to work. Why are you doing this? Just statically assign the IPs on the devices! I don't want to do this because I have some laptop users. They could obviously only use that static IP here. This isn't a problem if they could be bothered to change any location setting or something. They can't. So it HAS to be DHCP. It also has to be static IPs because I need to forward ports to them. I know, I know, this is weird but it's an apartment LAN/WLAN so this isn't exactly a typical use case.   • Why is my eth0 getting a dynamic ip when it is configured to be static?

    For some reason our office linux box is being assigned an ip address via dhcp and I don't know why. What is confusing to me is that when I check system-config-network it shows that my eth0 is setup to be a static ip address. And /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 also shows it is setup to be a static ip, yet it is getting a different ip address than the one specified in the ifcfg-eth0. Let me know if you have any suggestions on or ideas on where I can look next. Here are a few details that might help you figure out what an idiot I am :) Fedora 11 Router in front of this box is running dhcp, starting at 10.42.1.100 This box is configured to be 10.42.1.50 (at least I think it is!), subnet 255.255.255.0 (which is same as the router's lan subnet) Instead of having the static IP, this box is getting assigned 10.42.1.100.     In the log file of apache (access.log) I find log entries like the following: 10.20.30.40 - - [18/Mar/2011:02:12:44 +0200] "GET /index.php HTTP/1.1" 404 505 "-" "Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.1; U; en) Presto/2.7.62 Version/11.01" Whose meaning is clear: The client with IP 10.20.30.40 applied a GET HTTP method on /index.php (that is to say http://mysite.org/index.php) receiving a status code 404 using Opera as client/browser. What I don't understand is entries like the following: 174.34.231.19 - - [18/Mar/2011:02:24:56 +0200] "GET http://www.siasatema.com HTTP/1.1" 200 469 "-" "Python-urllib/2.4" So here what I see is that someone (client with IP 174.34.231.19) accessed http://www.siasatema.com and got a 200 HTTP status code(?). It doesn't make sense to me... the only interpretation I can think of is that my apache server acts like proxy! Here are some other requests that don't have my site as destination... 187.35.50.61 - - [18/Mar/2011:01:28:20 +0200] "POST http://72.26.198.222:80/log/normal/ HTTP/1.0" 404 491 "-" "Octoshape-sua/1010120" 87.117.203.177 - - [18/Mar/2011:01:29:59 +0200] "CONNECT 64.12.244.203:80 HTTP/1.0" 405 556 "-" "-" 87.117.203.177 - - [18/Mar/2011:01:29:59 +0200] "open 64.12.244.203 80" 400 506 "-" "-" 87.117.203.177 - - [18/Mar/2011:01:30:04 +0200] "telnet 64.12.244.203 80" 400 506 "-" "-" 87.117.203.177 - - [18/Mar/2011:01:30:09 +0200] "64.12.244.203 80" 400 301 "-" "-" I believe that all these are related to some kind of attack or abuse of the server. Could someone explain to may what is going on and how to cope with this situation? Update 1: I disabled mod_proxy to make sure that I don't have an open proxy: # a2dismod proxy Where from I got the message: Module proxy already disabled I made sure that there is no file proxy.conf under $APACHE/mods-enabled. Finally, I set on my browser (Mozzila) my IP as a proxy and tried to access http://google.com. I was not redirected to google.com but instead my web page appeared. The same happened with trying to access http://a.b (!). So my server does not really work as a proxy since it does not forward the requests... But I think it would be better if somehow I could configure it to return a status code 403.   • How to create dynamic volume in stripe configuration, aligned to 1024?

    I am trying to create a software stripe setup with two physical disks (underneath they are 128K stripe, RAID5 for each). I've read that one can use diskpart, but I am unable to come up with a command that works. This is on Server 2k3 SP2. I was trying create volume stripe disk=2,3 align=1024 Diskpart errors out: The arguments you specified for this command are not valid. P.S. Tried successfully with a basic disk and a primary partition. Please reply, -Greg
