I am examining a high-volume Apache prefork site and noticing that many log entries such as:
CustomLog '|/foo/bar/cronolog -foo -bar'
RewriteLog '|/foo/bar/cronolog -bar -foo'
When apache logs the request or the rewrite is cronolog spawned for EACH request or is the pipe opened and written-to for the lifetime duration of the preforked apache process?
(This was asked on stackoverflow but I'll remove from there as more applicable here I think.)
I want to delete all files that start with ._, when I run this command:
me@me:/var/www/my/project$ sudo rm -Rvi ._*
rm: cannot remove `._*': No such file or directory
I'm pretty sure the . is causing problems, making it think I mean the current directory, what's the correct syntax to achieve this?
I know these files originated from my Mac, I need a way of nuking them :-)
Many thanks
Ben
When I delete folders or files in through osx terminal using the rm -rf, where do they go? I heard that some say they are deleted directly, but some also say it only "remove the link to the file making it unable to be found or accessed without special tools" (http://superuser.com/questions/370786/where-do-files-and-directories-go-when-i-run-rm-rf-folder-or-file-name-in-ubu).
Someone said something about ext3 being able to save rm-ed files in ubuntu but what about mac?
We're sending ~60k emails to non-local addresses with sendmail and I manually set the -f flag to [email protected].
This all works fine and dandy when I limit my PHP script to 5000 addresses. If I remove the limitation, sendmail ingnores the parameters and sends all emails with a reply-to and return-path of [email protected].
I'm sleeping in between each email for 500ms, that should not be the problem.
Is there any kind of tool to assist in loading an unloading servers? I realized that I lack both height and upper body strength to remove servers from the upper tiers of a rack? I could not find the name or type of equipment that folks are using to do this kind of work safely?
Hi All, :)
My Domain Environment is
2 Domain Controller ( Main & Secondary )
DHCP
Mail Server
Internet Server & ISA Server
2 DNS Server Primary & Secondary
My problem i tried to Remove Password Complexity in my 2 domain Controller but i still receive error message that the password doesn't meet password complexity and i tried to run gpupdate /force after i disabled password complexity and check other condition
any one know why
I use windows server 2003 Stand alone
So I've enabled PHP on my Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), and it's working great so long as:
1) I place the file in the ~/Sites directory
2) I use the http://localhost/~user/example.php URL instead of the file:///Users/user/Sites/example.php
I presume this is because unless both of those conditions are true, Apache is not involved, and thus neither is PHP. So is there any way to remove either of those conditions? (Well, really the latter, because the first is a symptom of the second)
I would like to run the Windows Desktop Search indexer at below normal priority. When I try to set this via task manager, I get 'Access is denied'.
Is there a way to remove whatever restrictions are protecting this process? Or ideally, configure it to have the lower priority on startup?
XPSP3 btw.
I have a VPS with Centos and with firewall that I used to configure by Lxadmin. Now I don't have Lxadmin control panel and can't go to change it by web interface. How to discover what firewall I have on my machine and where is the config with blocked IP so I can remove mine?
I'm using
ln -f -s
/var/www/html/releases/build1390
app-current
to update symbolic link "app-current" with a new destination.
However, this doesn't work, the link "app-current" keeps it original destination, however, I don't get any errors...
I'd rather not remove the link and recreate it, just update the target of an existing link. Is that possible?
When our Sharepoint was migrated from Sharepoint 2003 to Sharepoint 2007 (both fully paid versions), the consultants who carried it out extended each web app into two IIS sites/zones (e.g. the original Web App was http://intranet, then http://newintranet and http://intranet would be created for Sharepoint 2007 - each with its own IIS site). The idea was that during the migration period we would set up DNS to point the old url to SP2003 servers and the new one to SP2007, then once the migration was complete, do a DNS change so the SP2007 would recieve the requests to the http://intranet type URLs.
Unfortunately the contractors did not tidy up the application extensions and IIS sites after the migration, and for some time both URLs were in use, resulting in many document links pointing to the http://newintranet type URLs. This means I need to maintain these URLs.
Due to a rejig of organisation structure we now need to relocate some Sharepoint sites, and I'd like to use the RDA Collaboration Sharepoint URL Redirector feature. However a limitation of this is that it doesn't work for Web Applications which have been extended into multiple zones. So I have a need to tidy up the situation that our consultants left behind.
I think the right thing to do is use the "Remove Sharepoint from IIS Web Site" page in Central Admin to remove the zone for the newintranet type sites, and select the option to also delete the IIS site. That should result in having no IIS sites listening for http://newintranet type URLs. Is this the right procedure?
Once I have done that I need to set up Sharepoint to receive requests sent to the http://newintranet type URLs so they will continue to work. I am not sure if I should do this:
using Alternative Access Mappings or,
by adding a host header to the IIS site or,
creating a non Sharepoint IIS site for each http://newintranet type URL, and use IIS redirection to forward the requests to the new URL using variables to pass the path to the Sharepoint site.
Does anyone have any thoughts on these options, or any other way of achieving this?
Sharepoint 2007 is running on Windows 2003 with IIS6. We don't currently have plans/budget to upgrade to Sharepoint 2010.
Hi,
My system has been infected by autorun.inf trojan. inorder to remove this trojan, i need to delete the autorun.inf file from my usb drive(i am using USB drive to connect to internet). But when i tried to delete the same, it says "access denied". I am unable to uncheck the read-only option. I have tried all the solutions by googling, but no luck. Can you help me out?
I am considering retiring some of our older OpenDJ LDAP servers and replacing with OpenLDAP. (seems to be more widely supported)
I am wondering if it's possible to replicate directly from OpenDJ to OpenLDAP as an interim solution to remove the OpenDJ slaves and then flip the master over later.
Is LDAP replication implementation specific or more general?
I guess I'll have to just go give it a try, but I was looking for advice from someone who's been down this road.
Hi all
I have a new laptop with Win 7 Home Premium. this machine came with already installed "MS Security Essentials" anti virus.
I've installed on the laptop another protection "Symantec Endpoint Protection".
I guess i don't need to have them both, so can you please tell me which one of them will be better so I'll remove the other?
thanks!
I recently installed Windows 8 from MSDN. I used to install Linux within Windows in my Windows operating systems.
But when I tried to install my Ubuntu 10.10 with Wubi installer the option to install with wubi was disabled.
Help me to install Ubuntu with Wubi installer on Windows 8 if Windows 8 supports it. If it does not, please recommend any other alternative to Wubi. I use Wubi mainly because I can easily remove the Linux operating system.
I have a RAID1 array on my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and my /sda HDD has been replaced several days ago. I use this commands to replace:
# go to superuser
sudo bash
# see RAID state
mdadm -Q -D /dev/md0
# State should be "clean, degraded"
# remove broken disk from RAID
mdadm /dev/md0 --fail /dev/sda1
mdadm /dev/md0 --remove /dev/sda1
# see partitions
fdisk -l
# shutdown computer
shutdown now
# physically replace old disk by new
# start system again
# see partitions
fdisk -l
# copy partitions from sdb to sda
sfdisk -d /dev/sdb | sfdisk /dev/sda
# recreate id for sda
sfdisk --change-id /dev/sda 1 fd
# add sda1 to RAID
mdadm /dev/md0 --add /dev/sda1
# see RAID state
mdadm -Q -D /dev/md0
# State should be "clean, degraded, recovering"
# to see status you can use
cat /proc/mdstat
This is the my mdadm output after sync:

After bebuilding completion "fdisk -l" says what I have not valid partition table /dev/md0.

This is my grub install output:

So
1) "update-grub" find only /sda and /sdb Linux, not /md0
2) "dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc" says "GRUB failed to install the following devices /dev/md0"
I cannot load my system except from /sdb1 and /sda1, but in DEGRADED mode...
Anybody can resolve this issue? I have big headache with this.
Hello,
I'm wondering if there is possible to increase the shadow on windows in windows 7. I know you can remove it, but can you increase it? I think it's just a bit small at the moment.
Thanks!
Under uTorrent version 3.1.3 (and possibly earlier), the context menu has taken on 2 new options, "Transfer To...", for moving a download to a mobile device, and "Show Converted Files", for built-in conversion. I prefer to do all my file management and conversions manually, and the options are, at best, annoying space wasters. In fact, I'm not sure these features are even available outside of uTorrent Plus, which is not something I run. Is it possible to remove them from the context menu?
I didn't do anything stupid like run random .exe or visit questionable websites, but as I was just Googling I get infected by Antimalware Doctor.
At that point I just shutdown my computer and reformatted, so I didn't check if I had the latest version of Flash or Firefox.
Is it possible to get infected just because I didn't have my Flash newer than 10.1 and some random flash ad infected me?
There doesn't seem to be any information on how Antimalware Doctor works asides from how to remove it.
I receive the following error when trying to run applications that require .net Framework 3.5:
"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest."
I've tried numerous fixes, such as reinstalling through ad/remove software, copying the .net folder over from a clean windows 7 install, and running the .net cleanup tool.
Just wondering if anyone has run into this issue before, or has an idea on how to fix it.
I cloned my windows 7 installation on c: to external hard drive. I applied usb patch using pwboot and i could successfully boot into windows. But My problem is even though i am booting in to external hd the file reference and system path is pointing to c: on my internal hard disk. If i remove internal hd and boot it will get stuck at login screen. Is there any way i can force drive letter c: to my boot partition on external hd while booting from it.
Gnome Shell by default uses the Super (Windows) key to display the activities overview. But I'd prefer to use the Super key to invoke Synapse. Right now I have to press Super+Super+Spacebar in order to invoke Synapse which is annoying (Super+Spacebar is the binding to invoke Synapse).
Is there any way to remove the default Gnome Shell mapping? In the keyboard shortcuts system settings, only the Alt+F1 binding appears for the activities overview action.
I know in TextMate I can go to preferences - advanced - folder references and play with the regex pattern to remove certain types of files and folders by default.
I heard that if you have an existing project, however, and chance these, the project is not affected.
From a similar but different angle, I am interested to know if I can exclude certain types of files, say anything named "index.html" from an existing project while not changing the global scope.
Thanks!
