• IE 8 Errors for Group Permissions for access

  Hello, The company I work for is about to begin testing for a transition from IE6 to IE8. One of our main concerns is about using permissions to control intranet access to internal sites,etc. This was a problem we encountered during testing for IE7 and scrapped it all together. However, IE6 has more than its foot in the grave, its head is peeking out. Microsoft is only supporting IE6 until 2014 when they also abandon support for Windows XP. IE7 just came up with a box asking for you to enter your credentials. It didn't matter if you had permissions, it always said access denied. We have yet to begin testing but I was hoping someone has encountered this issue as well and may be able to shed some light on the subject.

• jquery js how to avoid massive onmouseover onmouseout firing

  i have a table with some columns. in each of them is a picture where i have a onmouseover onmouseout event on it, which show a message in a div and hide the msg. my problem is - after a user goes quick from left to right (and moving) over a lot o images. all mouseover/out events of the images where executed, which looks stupid... is it possible to rearrange the internal event stack to avoid this? so that he executes only the current (mostly the first event) - and than the last one, if it is not same type eg. if mouseover over first image is executed and mouse moving position stops over an image 3times next the first one. i can avoid all other events firing, because the mouse stopped over an image and the mouseover is like the one where i stopped with the mouse. how can i avoid this multiple event firing?!

• Custom spring interceptor

  Hi, I want to convert some of our internal API into a spring bean spring interceptor that we can use in other projects. This API needs some instantiation and other logic which I want to encapsulate in this bean so that we can just put the bean into our app context with necessary propoerties alone, and this will then apply the logic. I remember having read an article on this somewhere in the past - but cant find it now. Any pointers to something similar will be helpful EDIT: Sorry, I meant a spring interceptor, not a bean - my bad - please see my edit. I want to apply this interceptor to another bean dealing in XML messages.

  Hi, I'm looking for an idiomatic way to get dynamically scoped variables in Clojure (or a similar effect) for use in templates and such. Here is an example problem using a lookup table to translate tag attributes from some non-HTML format to HTML, where the table needs access to a set of variables supplied from elsewhere: (def *attr-table* ; Key: [attr-key tag-name] or [boolean-function] ; Value: [attr-key attr-value] (empty array to ignore) ; Context: Variables "tagname", "akey", "aval" '( ; translate :LINK attribute in <a> to :href [:LINK "a"] [:href aval] ; translate :LINK attribute in <img> to :src [:LINK "img"] [:src aval] ; throw exception if :LINK attribute in any other tag [:LINK] (throw (RuntimeException. (str "No match for " tagname))) ; ... more rules ; ignore string keys, used for internal bookkeeping [(string? akey)] [] )) ; ignore I want to be able to evaluate the rules (left hand side) as well as the result (right hand side), and need some way to put the variables in scope at the location where the table is evaluated. I also want to keep the lookup and evaluation logic independent of any particular table or set of variables. I suppose there are similar issues involved in templates (for example for dynamic HTML), where you don't want to rewrite the template processing logic every time someone puts a new variable in a template. • Make is more OOPey - good structure?

  Hi, I just want advice on whether I could improve structure around a particular class which handles all disk access functions The structure of my program is that I have a class called Disk which gets data from flatfiles and databases on a, you guessed it, hard disk drive. I have functions like LoadTextFileToStringList, WriteStringToTextFile, DeleteLineInTextFile etc which are kind of "generic methods" In the same class I also have some more specific methods such as GetXFromDisk where X might be a particular field in a database table/query. Should I separate out the generic methods from the specialised. Should I make another class which inherits the generic methods. At the moment my class is static as there is no need to have an internal state of the class. I'm not really OOPing am I? Thanks Thomas

• Performance monitor shows 4294967293 sessions active

  I have an ASP.Net 3.5 website running in IIS 6 on Windows Server 2003 R2. It is a relatively small internal application that probably serves less than ten users at any given time. The server has 4 Gig of memory and shows that 3+ Gig is available while the site is active. Just minutes after restarting the web application Performance monitor shows that there is a whopping 4,294,967,293 sessions active! I am fairly certain that this number is incorrect; at the time this reading there were only 100 requests to the website. Has anyone else experienced this kind odd behavior from perf mon? Any ideas on how to get an accurate reading? UPDATE: After running for about an hour the number of active sessions has dropped by 4. So it does seem to be responding to sessions timing out.

I get down to step 3 where you are suppose to run the command: python setup.py py2exe I do that and then I get this error: 'python' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I have python 2.4 installed on my machine. any idea's? I am sure it is something simple.

  I'm currently parsing an XML file using REXML and trying to come up with a way of inserting an XML fragment from an internal file. Currently, I'm using some logic like the following: doc.elements.each('//include') do |element| handleInclude( element ) end def handleInclude( element ) if filename = element.attributes['file'] data = File.open( filename ).read doc = REXML::Document.new( data ) element.parent.replace_child( element, doc ) end end Where my XML looks like the following: <include file="test.xml" /> But this seems a little bit clunky, and I'm worried that REXML might not always parse XML fragments correctly due to absence of a proper root node in some cases. Is there a better way of doing this? Concern #2: REXML seems not to pick up my changes after I replace elements. For example, after making a change: doc.elements.each('rootNode/*') do |element| end ..picks up neither the original element I replaced, nor the one I replaced it with. Is there some trick to getting REXML to rescan its' tree?

  Hi All I am learning Java through BlueJ I would like to add a removeLot method to the Auction Class in BlueJ Chpt 4. This involves also returning the lot with the given number or null if there is no such lot. If you enter , say 5 lots and then use the remove method, this codes removes whichever lot you specify. However if you enter a new lot after using the removeLot method - an internal error message comes up regarding lotnumbering . Any ideas? • C# / Visual Studio: production and test code placement

  Hi, In JavaLand, I'm used to creating projects that contain both production and test code. I like this practice because it simplifies testing of internal code without artificially exposing the internals in a project's published API. So far, in my experiences with C# / Visual Studio / ReSharper / NUnit, I've created separate projects (i.e., separate DLLs) for production and test code. Is this the idiom, or am I off base?   I'm developing a C++ library. It got me thinking of the ways Java and C# handle including different components of the libraries. For example, Java uses "import" to allow use of classes from other packages, while C# simply uses "using" to import entire modules. My questions is, would it be a good idea to #include everything in the library in one massive include and then just use the using directive to import specific classes and modules? Or would this just be down right crazy? EDIT: Good responses so far, here are a few mitigating factors which I feel add to this idea: 1) Internal #includes are kept as normal (short and to the point) 2) The file which includes everything is optionally supplied with the library to those who wish to use it3) You could optionally make the big include file part of the pre-compiled header

• Setting variables in web config for web service consumption

  I did a couple google searches about this and am not finding anything, so I thought I'd ask here. I'm working on our internal CMS and I noticed that we're getting live data back when doing debugging because of our web services instead of the dev data that I wanted. It doesn't do this on our dev CMS website, but we're trying to do all our development on localhost. Is there any way to set up an environment variable in our web config for the URL so that the CMS points to the dev database instead of live database that is referenced in the wsdl files?

  Hi, Currently i'm using Zend_Cache_Backend_File for caching my project (especially responses from external web services). I was wandering if I could find some benefit in migrating the structure to Zend_Cache_Backend_Sqlite. Possible advantages are: File system is well-ordered (only 1 file in cache folder) Removing expired entries should be quicker (my assumption, since zend wouldn't need to scan internal-metadatas for expiring date of each cache) Possible disadvantages: Finding record to read (with files zend check if file exists based on filename and should be a bit quicker) in term of speed. I've tried to search a bit in internet but it seems that there are not a lot of discussion about the matter. What do you think about it? Thanks in advance.

• sqlite no such table

  can anyone please help. I've seen many people with the same problem and looked at all suggestions but still cannot get this to work. I have tried to unistall the application and install again, I have tried to change the version number and start again. I've debugged the code and it does go into the onCreate function, but when I go to make a select query it says the users table does not exist. Any help would greatly be appreciated. • Linux / C++: Get the IP Address of local computer

  This Question is almost the same as the previously asked Get the IP Address of local computer-Question. However I need to find the IP address(es) of a Linux Machine. So: How do I - programmatically in C++ - detect the IP addresses of the linux server my application is running on. The servers will have at least two IP addresses and I need a specific one (the one in a given network (the public one)). I'm sure there is a simple function to do that - but where? [EDIT] To make things a bit clearer: The server will obviously have the "localhost": 127.0.0.1 The server will have an internal (management) IP address: 172.16.x.x The server will have an external (public) IP address: 80.190.x.x I need to find the external IP address to bind my application to it. Obviously I can also bind to INADDR_ANY (and actually that's what I do at the moment). I would prefer to detect the public address, though.

  I work for an IT department with about 50+ developers. It used to be about 100+ developers but was cut because of the recession. When our department was bigger there was an ambitious effort made to set up a special architecture group. One thing this group decided to do was create our own internal logger. They thought it was such a simple task that we could spend recources and do it ourselves. Now we are having issues with performance and difficulty viewing the logs generated and some employees are frustrated that we are spending recources on infrastructure stuff like this instead of focusing on serving our business and using stuff that already exists like log4net or Enterprise Logger. Can you assist me in listing up reasons why you should not create your own .net logger. Also reasons for why you should are welcome to get a fair point of view :)

  I am using Heroku with a Ruby on Rails application, and running from Safari. I have the following Ajax call: $.ajax({ type : 'POST', url : '/test_page', data : {stuff: arr1}, dataType : 'script' }); arr1 is supposed to be an array of objects. There's a console.log right before that, and it is: [Object, Object, Object, Object, Object, ...] However, I got an error on the server side when I made this ajax call. It's really confusing to me - what would cause that string to sometimes be passed to the server instead of the object?

  I have been trying to submit 2 separate apps into the Amazon App store but they keep being rejected. The only common library used between the 2 apps is the FlurryAgent.jar for analytics. For the top app I have For the bottom app I have in the manifests. The only information I have been able to find out is about libraries (GSON) and needing to use dx but I am using Eclipse so that doesn't help. To make this more difficult, the error does NOT occur on the Android Market. Yet the testers at Amazon say that it FC 5/5 times on each of their devices (I tried using an emulator for their test devices and they worked fine). I know they use "wrapper" code around my app and I think it must be interfering in some way. Does anyone have any experience with this?

• Target .NET 3.5 C++/CLI in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2

  Has anyone had any success converting a VS 2008 C++/CLI (vcproj) project to a VS 2010 project (vcxproj), whilst maintaining .NET 3.5 as the target framework? I haven't been able to do this and get the project to build successfully. The project compiles fine in VS2008 as .NET 3.5, and fine in VS2010 as .NET 4.0, but I am unable to target .NET 3.5 in 2010. The IDE doesn't seem to provide an option for it, and modifying the vcxproj file by adding <TargetFrameworkVersion>v3.5</TargetFrameworkVersion> causes compilation to fail with the folling error: Error 1 error C1001: An internal error has occurred in the compiler. According to this link, there is apparently some differences in compilers used between VS2008 and 2010, but manually editing the project file was still suggested as a solution. Does anyone have any idea on this?

• How to include NetBeans Platform Source code into module dependencies

  I am debugging a NetBeans Platform application. I have downloaded the NetBeans Platform source code .zip file. I would really really like to attach the source code to the debugger so that I can seamlessly jump to internal NB source code. Normally I would edit the Library configuration to tell NB where to find the source code, and it would just work. However this is not possible for NetBeans Modules; when I look at the Utilities API module dependency it does not look like a normal NB library and there is nowhere to add in the source code. I suspect that if I were to rebuild my project using Maven this would work automatically. But thats a terrible reason to switch to maven. How can I get the NB Platform Source code included into my Module Dependencies ?
