  • How to install PHP/CURL?

    I tried to follow PHP.net curl site and even this link: http://curl.phptrack.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52 and try to install the CURL in my window laptop. It doesn't work.. CURL is not installed. I wonder do I need to run it on windows server... Anyone has good sites guiding me how to install CURL? thanks.

  • Virus ridden computer freezes on startup - can't access safe mode

    Someone whom I love but who cannot be trusted with a live internet connection downloaded a particularly nasty virus that in turn downloaded a variety of unknown other viruses onto my home computer. The computer now freezes completely a few seconds after reaching the desktop and is unresponsive to any keyboard or mouse command. There are videos of my little kid on this hard drive that are not backed up and that I cannot bear to lose. But if I could get in there long enough to copy them off to an external drive I would have no problem doing a clean windows install to fix the problem; everything else is backed up online but the videos were too large. Normally I would start by going into safe mode but I have a large Dell monitor that doesn't show anything until the welcome screen appears. I think that I have gotten into the setup screen once or twice by mashing keys before I can see anything, but this monitor doesn't support that so I can't see what I'm doing to get it to boot from CD or anything else. I'm at my wits end. Any advice?

  • 4 Minute Delay Between New User Registration and Receipt of Activation Email

    Hello, I am using a PHP/MySQL login script that sends a new user an activation email. When a new user registers, the info is put into MySQL pretty much instantly, but then it takes about 4 minutes for the activation email to arrive in the new user's inbox. It seems like sites like Facebook and Twitter can get out an activation email instantly when a new user registers. Is there anything that I could do to make the activation email that I'm using arrive instantly or really fast? Thanks in advance, John

  • PHP Processes reaching limit along with FastCGI timeouts

    I have a problem similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1168384/how-to-troubleshoot-php-processes, but with a twist. We have a couple of managed servers that recently migrated to FastCGI. Since then we've been having problems. We have a content management system at a central place that we manage all our sites with. All the sites run on the same managed server. So basically its one PHP script that generates pages on the same server. The catch comes in where it works perfectly on some, and gives FCGI timeout errors on others. At the same time our support is saying that the PHP processes heap up to their limit and then causes Apache to stop working. I'm convinced this is a fault on their side, but would like to get my side clean too. Anyway have any suggestions where I can start looking for what's going wrong? I know it's a really broad question, but any help or pointers would be great.   • How can I hide a $_GET variable to be more secured in PHP?

    So far all my sites use mostly $_GET's to get the data for a page. Ex: editad.php?posting_id=131 editaccount.php?user_id=2 --is there a way to hide or be more secured about what the user can see? I don't want them to be just able to say type "editad.php?posting_id=40" in the URL. I know I can use POSTS, but is there a way for GETs or not? --How can I be more more secured?

  • TCP/UDP and ethernet MTU Fragmentation

    I've read various sites and tutorials online but I am still confused. If the message is bigger than IP MTU, then send() returns the byte sent. What happens to the rest of the message? Am I to call send() again and attempt to send rest of the message? Or is that something IP layer should take care of automatically?

My development team has access to Apple's development program, and is largely coming from a similar background: they're Comp Sci graduates that have experience with Ruby and web languages, but haven't written any C since university.     I am deploying Linux/Firefox on a corporate Kerberos network. I followed this Kerberos-on-Firefox procedure but still Firefox does not connect via the company's Kerberos. I am using Firefox 3.0.18 on RedHat EL Server 5.5 Here is what I did: Run kinit on the command line to create a Kerberos ticket Check with klist: the ticket is valid until tomorrow, service principal is krbtgt/[email protected]. In Firefox, set network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris and network.negotiate-auth.delegation-uris to .dc.thecompany.com. Load the company's portal page via its full hostname: http://server37.thecompany.com/alfresco. (note: server37 is actually the machine I am running Firefox on, but that should not be a problem I guess) PROBLEM: the company's intranet portal still serves me the login/password page. The same portal correctly uses Kerberos on Internet Explorer/Windows 7 machines, same settings, and shows the user's personal page. The server does not see any Kerberos request coming. Did I do something wrong? I enabled NSPR_LOG_MODULES=negotiateauth:5 as explained here, but the log file stays empty.
