  • Correct term for PSD to HTML to CMS

    Hi, I have heard a lot of different terms to describe the process of turning a website design into a editable CMS. Currently I take the design and "slice" this up into HTML and CSS then I "plug" this into a CMS. I would class this as frontend development depending on the level of customisation required for the CMS.   • header redirect in Wordpress Plugin?

    I'm writing a Wordpress plugin, and based on certain circumstances, I want to redirect to a different page, but the redirect never happens. headers_sent() returns false. I'm using the pre_get_posts hook. Here is a small snippet: function test_redirect() { header("Location: http://www.cnn.com/"); } add_action('pre_get_posts', 'test_redirect'); The redirect never happens, and no errors are reported on the page or in the error log. Why can't I redirect?

    Hello, Im writing application in c++ and after try to run built (in debug mode) application on another machine I had error (The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorect). I realised that there are missed DLLs from windows\WinSxS\ But I dont really know which folder contains what I really need and secondly I dont know how to check my compiler version in visual studio.   • When should I think about implementing my User authentication / session?

    After spending some time wireframing my ideas, I want to start building my rails app. However, I'm well aware that later down the line I'd like to consider multiple user accounts. Should I be thinking about the implementation of this from this early stage, or is this something I can implement without too much fuss later? It seems like something that would be stupid to attempt later, but part of me just wants to get the guts of the thing working - a couple of simply forms and writing/reading some stuff from the db.

I have searched a little and I have found files that uses Nusoap, However, I dont want to use NuSoap. Is there any solution?     So I have to send a java project to someone outside our company who has no experience with java and they need to compile it. Is there an easy way to do it on the windows command line that does not require writing out lists of the files? Personally I think javac should be smart enough to handle javac * when in the folder just under the root of the package hierarchy. Is there anything in this ballpark?

  • Should I use Java for a custom Swing component designed for a clojure app?

    I want a simple timeline component (like in video editing software) for a clojure/seesaw app and I am wondering if it is a good approach to implement this directly with clojure and seesaw or if I should write it in java and make my clojure wrapper around it. Or more generally: is a functional programming language optimal for writing UI widgets? I cannot imagine doing that without a lot of state involved. And wasn't OO invented for UI-development in the first place?

    The "Sleep" command as stated in many places over the internet (including here on this forum) DOES NOT WORK. Is it now an obsolete command? I am writing the VBScript code like this: sub button1_onclick() Wscript.Sleep 1000 div1.innerHTML = textbox1.value end sub It should wait 1 second and then execute that simple command. This is an utterly simple statement but it does not work. Plain and simple. It comes up with an error every time saying: Object Required: 'Wscript'

    Hi, I am writing and opengl based iphone app and would like to allow a user to translate around a view based on the direction that they move two fingers on the screen. For one finger I know I could just calculate the vector from the start position to the current position of the users finger and then find the unit vector of this to get just the direction, but I don't know how I would do this for two fingers, I don't think adding the components of the vectors and calculating the average would work so I'm pretty much stuck... thanks in advance

    Hi! I'm learning C right now and so I'm fiddling about with pointers. Is there a way to determine the word width of the CPU in C because I'm writing a small program which prints it's own stack (Because I'm curious how it is structured), so that information would come in handy. Right now I'm using an int pointer, as an integer is 4 Bytes wide and I'm using a 32-bit Intel Atom CPU. Thanks in advance, C gurus ;o)
