  • Proper thread termination in multi-threaded C# application

    I have what I think is a rather complex problem. I have a C# application that utilizes a plug-in architecture using reflection. The application loads plug-in dlls and the user is able to enable/disable them. When a plug-in is enabled, the main app starts a thread to run the plug-in in. In many cases the plug-in may have multiple threads of its own. When I want to disable a plug-in I am calling Thread.Abort(). This seems to kill the initial thread that was created for the plug-in, but any additional threads that the plug-in created continue running. Is there a better way to stop all of the associated plug-in's threads along with the main thread? Thanks.

    I have a multiple module project The first module contains my hibernate xml files and data java beans and packages as har. The second module defines my DAO classes. This module has a dependancy on data java beans with in the har and is defined in pom.xml. <dependency> <groupId>myproject</groupId> <artifactId>myhar</artifactId> <version>1.0</version> <type>har</type> </dependency> The first module compiles, packages and installs fine into my local repository. The problem is when the second modules compiles it has a problem finding the packages and class defined in my har module. I get the following output from running mvn install package myproject.myhar does not exist and build fails.

I have a database column called pymnt_meth_pref, which contains a comma separated string of payment methods chosen from a multiselect form. <td>Payment Methods Used:<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="pyment_meth_pref[]" value="Cash">I can pay with cash.<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="pyment_meth_pref[]" value="Check">I can pay by check.<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="pyment_meth_pref[]" value="Credit Card">I can pay by credit card.<br /> <input type="checkbox" name="pyment_meth_pref[]" value="Paypal">I can pay with Paypal.<br /> </td> This array is posted to a variable and turned into a comma separated string if (isset($_POST['pyment_meth_pref'])) $pymntmethpref = implode(", ", $_POST['pyment_meth_pref']); if (isset($_POST['pyment_meth_acc'])) $pymntmethacc = implode(", ", $_POST['pyment_meth_acc']); This is then inserted into the database as a comma separated string. What I would like to do, is take this string and apply the values to the original form when the user goes back to the form as 'pre-selected' checkboxes, indicated that the user has already selected those values previously, and keeping those values in the database if they choose to edit any other information in the form. I'm assuming this would need to be done with javascript but if there is a way to do it with PHP I'd rather do it that way.

    Hello, I have more than one Excel Workbooks containing multiple worksheets in each of them. I would like to have a macro which help me to create (combine the information from) all the worksheets into one pipe [|] delimited [.csv] file. These sheets should be combined/appended into the [.csv] file, in the same order these worksbooks appear in a folder and in the order sheets appear in these workbooks. The macro should ask for a delimiter/separator specific to me and the input and output path based on my selection.     Hi, all I have a TabActivity with several tabs. Each tab corresponds to a specific view, and those views may further switch to other views. For example, one of my tabs displays RSS feed list, after user clicks one of the RSS feed, it will switch to a view displaying a list of articles, and after user clicks one of the titles, a full article view will be displayed. I'm going to add support for "back" button in my application. For instance, in a full article view, after user presses the "back" button, it should switch back to the article list view. And if user presses it the "back" button again, my application should switch back to the feed list view. My idea is to maintain a Stack<View> during navigation, and every time user presses the "back" button, the program will pop a View out of the stack, and set it as the current view. But I would like to know how to set current view in TabHost. Many thanks.

  • Can't establish a DB connection. (Maybe threads related)

    Hello, I am getting this exception on the Rufus::Scheduler ActiveRecord::ConnectionTimeoutError: could not obtain a database connection within 5 seconds. The max pool size is currently 30; consider increasing it. I've increased the pool from 10 to 30. And I also monkey patched the method which raises the exception to also call ActiveRecord::Base.verify_active_connections! before doing its job. And I also restarted the service which executes the script so that the new code is run. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need any other info about environment or whatnot. Thank you.

  • How can i test my DB speed? (Learning)

    I have design a database. Theres no columns with indexing, nor any code for optimizing. I am positive i should index certain columns since i search them a lot. My question is HOW do i test if any part of my database will be slow? ATM I am using sqlite and i will be switching to either MS Sql or MySql based on my host provider. Will creating 100,000 records in each table be enough? Or will that always be fast in sqlite and i need to do 1mil? Do i need 10mil before a database will become slow? Also how do i time it? I am using C# so should i use StopWatch or is there a ADO.NET/Sqlite function i should use?

  • Is it possible to create multi-tiered WHERE statements in mySQL

    I'm currently developing a program that will generate reports based upon lead data. My issue is that I'm running 3 queries for something that I would like to only have to run one query for. For instance, I want to gather data for leads generated in the past day submission_date > (NOW() - INTERVAL 1 DAY) and I would like to find out how many total leads there were, and how many sold leads there were in that timeframe. (sold=1 / sold=0). The issue comes with the fact that this query is currently being done with 2 queries, one with WHEREsold= 1 and one with WHEREsold= 0. This is all well and good, but when I want to generate this data for the past day,week,month,year,and all time I will have to run 10 queries to obtain this data. I feel like there HAS to be a more efficient way of doing this. I know I can create a mySQL function for this, but I don't see how this could solve the problem. Thanks!!

  • GUID not being generated automatically when db.submitchanges()

    I have a couple of tables I ported over to a new database. Everything is exactly the same from the legacy one to the new one. The back-end code that submits the user generated data to the database is also the same. When I submit changes to the database, all of the submitted information populates the correct columns but the column that stores the GUID populates with all 0's. When I enter in the columns manually using SQL Server Management Studio, the GUID gets populated as it does in the legacy version. Am I missing something?
