I am looking for a command line tool to join 2 video files, however I want the videos joined split screen frame by frame instead of one after another.
Any ideas?
Seems this is not possible with ffmpeg.
My problem is pretty straight forward:
HTC Sync manager works perfectly with my HTC One X.
However, it filters extensions it's not able to use with it's stock applications. (HTC Sense) But 3rd party applications can handle other extensions of course. Is there a way to adjust the HTC Sync Manager so that extensions will not be filtered?
And if that's not possible is there a syncronisation tool that synchronises automatically once the android device is connected through USB? (Tried Allway Sync, doesn't work properly)
When I'm travelling I would like to use my iPhone's mobile hotspot feature to provide Internet access for my Windows 7 laptop. However, my mobile data plan has a limit on the amount of data I can use per month, and I would like to restrict Internet access to a few very specific applications (such as a database administration tool and Chrome).
Is it possible to create a firewall profile for use with mobile data access? If not, what tools exist that could assist me?
I need to create a daemon from the application in Debian. Is there any standard tool for this in Debian like "upstart" in Ubuntu? I need only start-stop commands, to start a program as a daemon with some options and a pid file and kill it with pid file.
I looked at init.d but it seems these are for boot-time launch. I want to start my daemon manually.

I have a aging website I'm managing and I'd like to remove all unused external files (.css, .jpg, .js, etc.) that are currently in various folders all over the site.
Is there a tool out there that can help me identify and/or remove these for me?
I am wondering if there is a tool that will monitor all the process and send a daily report of which process where hogging resources per hour or something similar?
What I am after is when I see my cpu go up at certain times of the day, I want to know which processes where using the resources at that time.
Hi All,
I am in a hotel, where the internet connection has to be refreshed every hour. So after every hour a web page comes up and I have to click on a continue button and then continue to surf.
How can i automate this refreshing, because I keep things for download and they stop after one hour.
Any program / tool that can help me do this?

I'm downloading a linux image here, its size is 675MB
But the browser always finishes downloading at only 10MB
This kind of thing doesn't happen if I use a dedicated tool for downloading,
why it's so weak in browser?
In Windows 7, Windows Explorer has a large bar just above the status bar that contains properties of the highlighted item. Is it possible to hide this? It takes up a significant amount of screen space I'd prefer using in the file listing.
Also, is it possible to hide the tool bar for the same reason? That's what I'm calling the bar near the top with "Organize, Open, Include in Library, Share With..."
How to add an icon to Windows Explorer toolbar (in Windows XP), that once clicked, opens a command window in selected directory?
In other words, I am looking for MS Powertoys"Open Command Window here" like tool but instead of context menu, for Explorer toolbar.
I believe every system administrator is used to open source by now. From Apache to Firefox or Linux, everyone uses it at least a little bit.
However, most open source developers are not good in marketing, so I know that there are hundreds of very good tools out there that very few people know.
To fill this gap, share your favorite open source tool that you use on your day by day that is not very famous.
*I will post mine in the comments.
Is there a tool which will allow me to use all my IM identities from Yahoo | Google at the same time. I would prefer not to logout and login with a different IM identity if I have to communicate with a different set of users. Meebo doesn't allow me to do this either.

I want Google search results to default with a publish date. I'm trying to change the Google search plugin, but I'd be just as happy using a 3rd-party tool that does this.
So I'm using Firefox 15.0.1 and I've tried changing {install dir}/searchplugins/google.xml, but Firefox is just ignoring these changes.
For example, I'm adding the below in 3 places in google.xml, but nothing is happening:
<Param name="cdr" value="cdr:1,cd_min:01/01/1900,cd_"/>

I just found a list of about 2000 car manufacturers which I want to put into a drop-down list... but 2000 is probably a bit too many, so I want to filter it down to maybe the top 100 most popular cars. I figure I can just use Google search popularity to give me a rough estimate of how popular the car is... but I can't find a tool that will let me query 2000 keywords. Anyone know of one?
I have an ISO image of a DVD which is 8.5GB in size. I find this strange, because that is about 500MB more than a standard DL DVD can hold. I tried overburning with Nero, but it failed. Is it possible to somehow burn such an image? Are there some special DVD blanks that allow you to write more?
Or is this ISO simply made by some tool without any regards of whether it can be burned or not?
for example
http://www.sitename.com/section1/pagename.aspx
http://www.sitename.com/section2/pagename.aspx
I need quick report only for pages which has same name. like "pagename.html" in example.
I need any free online of offline (Portable and for Windows XP 32 bit) tool.
After reading Disk Partition Alignment Best Practices for SQL Server, I just want to give those advices a try, but on my linux test server. What are the required parameters in order to set the partition offset (for fdisk if possible, or any other partitioning tool available on a linux live cd)?
I have a bunch of png files that I want to rescale.
Oversimplifying a little, let's say I have files named:
[email protected][email protected][email protected]
and so on, and I want to make:
apple.png
orange.png
pear.png,
and so on, with the output files all at half the scale of the corresponding input files. Is there a good tool for that? I have about 200 input files, so preferably the whole process would be automated.
OS: WinXP
I need to Web VPN to RDP to remote host, but I don't want to use default java RDP window. So just wondering is there any tool that can do webvpn and provide a RDP function? Thanks.
