  • PHP header redirection does not reload <iframe> in IE

    - by Marco Demaio
When displaying data from DB usually I'm in this situation I'm in page A.php that shows data from DB, user performs some action (like edit/delete etc) and page B.php is loaded to perform the action, once page B performed the action, it redirects browser to page A, page A is auto reloaded during step (3) therefor it shows an updated situation of the data In order to make page B to redirect to page A i use a simple PHP header("Location: " . "A.php", TRUE, 302); This works well in all situations, except when pages A.php is displaied into an <iframe>: in such a case it does not reload (step 4 does not get done). This seems to happen only in IE7 (don't know about IE8), it works perfectly on FF/Safari. And only when using an <iframe>, if page A.php is not in <iframe> it gest refreshed also in IE7. In order to solve this I simply added a couple of headers in page A.php to set it to not be cached: header("Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate"); // HTTP/1.1 header("Expires: Sat, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT"); // Date in the past But I was curious if you might have experienced the same issue too in the past, and if you good give me some advice about this?

  • IWebBrowser2: how to force links to open in new window?

    - by Rob McAfee
The MSDN documentation on WebBrowser Customization explains how to prevent new windows from being opened and how to cancel navigation. In my case, my application is hosting an IWebBrowser2 but I don't want the user to navigate to new pages within my app. Instead, I'd like to open all links in a new IE window. The desired behavior is: user clicks a link, and a new window opens with that URL. A similar question was asked and answered here and rather than pollute that answered post, it was suggested I open a new discussion. The members on the related post suggested I should be able to do this by trapping DISPID_BEFORENAVIGATE2, setting the cancel flag, and writing code to open a new window, but I've found out that the browser control gets lots of BeforeNavigate2 events that seem to be initiated by scripts on the main page. For example, amazon.com fires BeforeNavigate2 events like crazy, and they are not a result of link invocation. Replies appreciated!

    - by Bruno Costa
Hello, I'm having a problem with some reports in the application I'm doing manutention I've a button that does a postback to the server and do some information and then get back to the cliente and open a popup to download the report. private void grid_ItemCommand(object source, System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGridCommandEventArgs e) { ... ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.GetType(), "xxx", "<script>javascript:window.location('xx.aspx?m=x','xxx','width=750,height=350,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,scrollbars,status=no,toolbar=no,resizable=yes,left=50,top=50');</script>"); } Then in xxx.aspx I've the code: Response.ClearContent(); Response.ClearHeaders(); Response.TransmitFile(tempFileName); Response.Flush(); Response.Close(); File.Delete(tempFileName); Response.End(); This works fine if IE option Automatic prompting for file downloads is enabled. But by default this is disabled and I need to force the download box to be prompting. Can I do anything without change a lot of code? Thanks.

  • IE to show Full URL path in the Title bar as in Status Bar

    - by Slavin
Windows XP and IE8. Tabbed Browsing is OFF. So every single web page has its own title. I want to see in the title the same as I see in the Status bar i.e. I want the full URL of the web page I am viewing to be displayed in the Title bar, and so in the Task bar button too. How to achieve this? Thanks for all the answers in advance. Looks like this is rare case.

  • IE 8 remove line break between nodes with JavaScript

    - by Tokimon
Ok i have a list of HTML nodes which should be inline with no spacing between them. The problem is, that the nodes are written from a CMS and therefore will come with all sorts of linebreaks and spaces. Therefore I'm removing the spaces with JS using the method descibed in this question. The problem is, however, that in IE (not 9) the white spaces isn't part of the childrens list of the parent node, rendering the method useless in IE. However IE 7 (or at least IE 9 emulating IE 7) ignores the linebreaks, so that one is in the clear. That leaves IE 8 as the troublemaker. I discovered that the line break is actually a part of the outerHTML and that a simple reset of the outerHTML did the trick - like so: node.outerHTML = node.outerHTML However this will reset the node intirely and therefore removing all events and other settings on the node, which isn't really any good. So my question is now: Is there a way to remove that linebreak from the nodes outerHTML whitout resetting the node? I've tried with zoom: 1, but to no avail. Hope anyone has any experience with this.

  • Where can I find a jQuery color animation plugin?

    - by George Edison
    I need an up-to-date jQuery color animation plugin that works in IE 8. I tried using the one at http://plugins.jquery.com/project/color but it causes errors like "Invalid property value." in the following line of code from color.js: fx.elem.style[attr] = "rgb(" + [ Math.max(Math.min( parseInt((fx.pos * (fx.end[0] - fx.start[0])) + fx.start[0]), 255), 0), Math.max(Math.min( parseInt((fx.pos * (fx.end[1] - fx.start[1])) + fx.start[1]), 255), 0), Math.max(Math.min( parseInt((fx.pos * (fx.end[2] - fx.start[2])) + fx.start[2]), 255), 0) ].join(",") + ")"; Where can I get something that works? By the way, I really hate IE, if that helps.

  • IE "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected"

    - by Stephen Borg
Hi there, I have problems with regards to javascript only when using IE. The error I am getting is "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected" and I have no idea why. It is then jumping into the JQuery 1.4.2 file, without giving me a proper error message. All I am doing is simply reading on page load the raw URL, and getting a query string named Search. Using that in an AJAX call to return products and put then into a DIV. No biggies, but somehow IE is managing to blow my page up :-( Any ideas? Code as follows : <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function (e) { $('.boxLoader').show(); function getParameterByName(name) { name = name.replace(/[\[]/, "\\\[").replace(/[\]]/, "\\\]"); var regexS = "[\\?&]" + name + "=([^&#]*)"; var regex = new RegExp(regexS); var results = regex.exec(window.location.href); if (results == null) return ""; else return decodeURIComponent(results[1].replace(/\+/g, " ")); } var Search; Search = getParameterByName("search"); $('#searchCriteria').text(Search); $.get("/Handlers/processProducts.aspx", { SearchCriteria: Search }, function (data) { $('#innercontent').html(data); $('#innercontent').fadeIn(200); $('.boxLoader').fadeOut(200); }); $('#searchBox').live("click", function () { $.get("/Handlers/processProducts.aspx", { SearchCriteria: $('#searchCriteria').val() }, function (data) { $('#innercontent').html(data); $('#innercontent').fadeIn(200); $('.boxLoader').fadeOut(200); }); }); }); </script>

  • I have a BHO in c++ and i need to block some keyboard controls (Ctrl-o) in a i-frame.

    - by BHOdevelopper
I need to know of a way to prevent the user to 'open a new url' (with Ctrl-o) as soon as he has the focus on my sidebar (right-sided iframe). In fact, my sidebar offers some controls and the user should not be able to 'navigate' to other website through the sidebar. I'm using a bho in C++ using ATL(active template library), but maybe if anyone knows of a simplier way like in JS(javascript) or PHP(Hypertext Preprocessor) ? Any ideas is appreciated. Thanks. If anyone need precisions, please ask. I'll be checking for responses every single days.

  • IE CSS bug: table border showing div with visibility: hidden, position: absolute

    - by Alessandro Vernet
The issue I have a <div> on a page which is initially hidden with a visibility: hidden; position: absolute. The issue is that if a <div> hidden this way contains a table which uses border-collapse: collapse and has a border set on it cells, that border still shows "through" the hidden <div> on IE. Try this for yourself by running the code below on IE6 or IE7. You should get a white page, but instead you will see: Possible workaround Since this is happening on IE and not on other browsers, I assume that this is an IE bug. One workaround is to add the following code which will override the border: .hide table tr td { border: none; } I am wondering: Is this a known IE bug? Is there a more elegant solution/workaround? The code <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> <style type="text/css"> /* Style for tables */ .table tr td { border: 1px solid gray; } .table { border-collapse: collapse; } /* Class used to hide a section */ .hide { visibility: hidden; position: absolute; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="hide"> <table class="table"> <tr> <td>Gaga</td> </tr> </table> </div> </body> </html>

  • IE6 background appears-disappears on scrolling

    - by itarato
Hi, Given IE6, an UL-LI list and a background image for the UL container. <style> ul {background-image: url(images/bgr.png);} </style> ... <ul> <li>...</li> ... </ul> When I load the page, the background is randomly loaded, some parts are visible, some are not. Moreover, it changes on runtime when I'm scrolling on the page. When I scroll out the UL list and scroll back, different parts of the background will be visible, depends on the speed of scrolling. Do you have any idea? Thanks in advance.

How can I detect when a page is loaded in the window (like an iframe onload)?

  • Keep div:hover open when changing nested select box

    - by JMC Creative
    This is an IE-only problem. .toolTip becomes visible when it's parent element is :hovered over. Inside of .toolTip is a select box. When the user opens the select box to make a selection, the parent element is being "un-hovered", if you will. To put it another way, when I try to select something from the dropdown, the whole thing hides itself again. I'm sure it has something to do with the way IE interprets the stylesheet, but I don't know what or where. Here is some relevant code (edited for clarity): #toolBar .toolTip { position: absolute; display:none; background: #fff; line-height: 1em; font-size: .8em; min-width: 300px; bottom: 47px; left: -5px; padding: 0 ; } #toolBar div:hover .toolTip { display:block; } and <div id="toolBar"> <div class="socialIcon"> <a href=""><img src="/im/social/nytimes.png" alt="NY Times Bestsellers" /></a> <span class="toolTip"> <h1>NY Times Bestsellers Lists</h1> <div id="nyTimesBestsellers"> <?php include('/ny-times-bestseller-feed.php') ?> </div> <p><img src="/im/social/nytimes.png" alt="NY Times Bestseller Lists" /> Change List <select id="nyTimesChangeCurrentList" name="nyTimesChangeCurrentList"> <option value="hardcover-fiction">Hardcover Fiction</option> <option value="hardcover-nonfiction">Hardcover Nonfiction</option> <option value="hardcover-advice">Hardcover Advice</option> </select> </p> </span> </div> </div>

  • JQuery error in IE, works with FF. Maybe a problem with live.

    - by olve
Hello. I have an ASP.net MVC2 application. In wich I'm using JQuery to alter all table rows so I can click anywhere in any row to trigger a click event on a link in the clicked row. The tables is created using MVC's built in partialview ajax. Here is my JQuery script. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('table tr').live('click',function (event) { $('#asplink', this).trigger('click'); }) .live('mouseenter',function (event) { this.bgColor = 'lightblue'; }) .live('mouseleave', function (event) { this.bgColor = 'white'; }); }); </script> And this is the first part of the partial view code that creates the table. <% foreach (var item in Model.JobHeaderData) { %> <tr> <td> <a id="asplink" href="http://localhost/sagstyring/EditJob.asp?JobDataID=<%: item.JobDataId %>&JobNumId=<%: item.JobNumID%>&JobNum=<%: item.JobNumID%>&DepId=1&User_Id=<%:ViewData["UserId"]%>" onclick="window.open(this.href,'Rediger sag <%: item.JobNumID %> ', 'status=0, toolbar=0, location=0, menubar=0, directories=0, resizeable=0, scrollbars=0, width=900, height=700'); return false;">Rediger</a> </td> In firefox this works perfectly. In IE, JQuery crashes when I click on a row. If I debug the page in IE. I get this. Out of stack space In jquery-1.4.1.js line 1822 // Trigger the event, it is assumed that "handle" is a function var handle = jQuery.data( elem, "handle" ); if ( handle ) { handle.apply( elem, data ); } I'm no eagle at javascript, so I'm pretty much stuck.

For music there is the Gracenote CDDB SDK, etc. but does an online service exist for getting information about movies? The only solution i can see at the minute is querying IMDB and scraping the page. The problem i have is that i have a list of film titles and i want to retrieve stuff like the plot, director, cast, when released, get dvd cover art, etc..

  • iframe height not taken into account by IE8

    - by Pedro
Hi guys, I'm building a dummy widget for a iGoogle/Netvibes like portal. This is a "Google Maps" widget, as it only renders a map centered on a specific location. The widget looks good in all browsers but IE8, in which the height I specify to the <div> that contains the map is not taken into account. Here's the interesting part of the code: <body onload="initialize()" > <div id="map_canvas" style="height:400px; width: 100%;"></div> </body> I have no control on the portal, so the only thing I can modify is the widget itself. I also tried to set the height for the <body>, but same thing. Any idea on why it's not working in IE? Thanks!

  • Returning HTML in the JS portion of a respond_to block throws errors in IE

    - by Horace Loeb
Here's a common pattern in my controller actions: respond_to do |format| format.html {} format.js { render :layout => false } end I.e., if the request is non-AJAX, I'll send the HTML content in a layout on a brand new page. If the request is AJAX, I'll send down the same content, but without a layout (so that it can be inserted into the existing page or put into a lightbox or whatever). So I'm always returning HTML in the format.js portion, yet Rails sets the Content-Type response header to text/javascript. This causes IE to throw this fun little error message: Of course I could set the content-type of the response every time I did this (or use an after_filter or whatever), but it seems like I'm trying to do something relatively standard and I don't want to add additional boilerplate code. How do I fix this problem? Alternatively, if the only way to fix the problem is to change the content-type of the response, what's the best way to achieve the behavior I want (i.e., sending down content with layout for non-AJAX and the same content without a layout for AJAX) without having to deal with these errors? Edit: This blog post has some more info

  • IE8 removes background-color of header row of Asp:Gridview

    - by Hitesh Riziya
    I am using Asp.net 4.0 GridView control to display data from database. I have applied the inbuilt theme to GridView. <asp:GridView ID="gv" runat="server" CellPadding="4" EmptyDataText="No records found." ForeColor="#333333" OnRowCommand="gv_RowCommand" Width="99%" OnPageIndexChanging="gv_PageIndexChanged" PageSize="50" AllowPaging="True" GridLines="None" AutoGenerateColumns="true"> <AlternatingRowStyle BackColor="White" /> <EditRowStyle BackColor="#7C6F57" /> <FooterStyle BackColor="#1C5E55" Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="White" /> <HeaderStyle CssClass="GridHeader" BackColor="#1C5E55" Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="White" HorizontalAlign="Left" /> <PagerStyle BackColor="#666666" ForeColor="White" HorizontalAlign="Center" /> <RowStyle BackColor="#E3EAEB" /> <SelectedRowStyle BackColor="#C5BBAF" Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="#333333" /> <SortedAscendingCellStyle BackColor="#F8FAFA" /> <SortedAscendingHeaderStyle BackColor="#246B61" /> <SortedDescendingCellStyle BackColor="#D4DFE1" /> <SortedDescendingHeaderStyle BackColor="#15524A" /></asp:GridView> I tried setting the CSS forcefully in my Master page .GridHeader { background-color:#1C5E55 !important;} But I am still missing the background-color. I can see the backgroundcolor applied to grid (for less-than 1 sec) while the page loading the js/css content NOTE: I already tried clearing cache of IE, ctrl + F5, shift + reload etc. Here is sample page of my issue. http://vd2.weenggs.com/Items.aspx email: [email protected] pass: test Thanks
