  • Mac: Cannot open the parent directory Library

    I really am about to go crazy because nothing worked out. I'm trying to access the Library folder on my OS Lion however all the tutorials related to this subject involves opening the user library however I would like to access the Library where the 'WebServer' folder is located when you enable web-sharing. Whenever I try to access it it gives me the error that I am not allowed to see what's inside and I checked my status, saying that I am an admin but it still occurs. Any help?

    I have been trying to get this effect for a couple of hours now and I must admit I am failing at it. I am trying to construct a DIV that accepts a particular number of items (say 5), when the 6th item is added, the first item that was aded should be removed (first-in-first-out). The feel should have some kind of a fadeIn and fadeOut.     The company I work for has a document management and retrieval system. We are noticing employees use more their smartphones than their laptops, but they cannot access the document management system. So, we are thinking about a CMS, with persistent storage, perhaps developed in Java. I just started looking into Jease and dotCMS, and also checked here those recommendations in questions like "Best Open Source Java CMS", etc I find some CMSs too bulky for simple stuff like what we need which is basically document download/edit/upload, and some simple collaboration and personalization stuff. Smartphones of choice in our workforce are Nokia, Blackberry and IPhone, The question is: are there java based with persistent db CMSs aimed at Smartphones right now? I need replication of the complete database and run website offline.

    steps: 1. created a vm in windows 2. partitioned drive and installed ubuntu 3. exported the vm I created 4. mounted windows drive in ubuntu 5. imported the vm from the export, in the mounted drive 6. tried to start vm, got the following error: "Failed to open a session for the virtual machine XXXX.   • How do I send floats in window messages.

    Hi, What is the best way to send a float in a windows message using c++ casting operators? The reason I ask is that the approach which first occurred to me did not work. For the record I'm using the standard win32 function to send messages: PostWindowMessage(UINT nMsg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam) What does not work: Using static_cast<WPARAM>() does not work since WPARAM is typedef'ed to UINT_PTR and will do a numeric conversion from float to int, effectively truncating the value of the float. Using reinterpret_cast<WPARAM>() does not work since it is meant for use with pointers and fails with a compilation error. I can think of two workarounds at the moment: Using reinterpret_cast in conjunction with the address of operator: float f = 42.0f; ::PostWindowMessage(WM_SOME_MESSAGE, *reinterpret_cast<WPARAM*>(&f), 0); Using an union: union { WPARAM wParam, float f }; f = 42.0f; ::PostWindowMessage(WM_SOME_MESSAGE, wParam, 0); Which of these are preffered? Are there any other more elegant way of accomplishing this?

I need a circle to follow my mouse all the time and this is all the program should do.   • Open an X application going through many hoops (SSH, vpn etc)

    The players: my home computer, running Linux with an X server running. (Call it HOME.) a remote site, to which I can connect over the internet using a VPN. (SITE) a Linux computer at the remote site, to which I can connect with ssh -X and nicely have X clients displaying on my local server. (MIDDLE) a very old Irix machine (an Onyx) at the remote site, which has no SSH server (therefore I can't ssh -X to it), only an ssh client. (ONYX) Purpose I need to run an X11 application on the ONYX machine, and see the GUI on HOME. I think I stumble upon xauth issues. So far The current situation is: ? HOME connects to SITE ? A vncserver starts on MIDDLE:7 ? vncviewer on HOME connects to vncserver on MIDDLE ? ONYX starts a forwarding ssh session to MIDDLE: ssh -TfN -L 6007:127.0.0.1:6007 MIDDLE ? DISPLAY=localhost:7 xclient on ONYX fails with Xlib: connection to "127.0.0.1:7.0" refused by server I do know that the forwarding (6007:127.0.0.1:6007) succeeds. A previous attempt was: ? HOME connects to SITE ? HOME connects to MIDDLE: ssh -X MIDDLE (xclock displays on HOME, DISPLAY is 127.0.0.1:10) ? ONYX starts an SSH tunnel to MIDDLE: ssh -TfN -L 6010:127.0.0.1:6010 MIDDLE ? DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:10 xclient fails with X connection to 127.0.0.1:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). while an error pops up in the MIDDLE session: X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. It was working beautifully few days ago but now whenever i try to play a song from url it shows the message "Can not play the file.The file is either corrupted or the player does not support the format you are playing" The same url is not played by the phone's wmplayer also but when I try to play it with the systems wmplayer it plays the same url successfully.

    I was up to sending a very long message, about 90,000 characters, to a friend, I tried several times but I got error sending the message. Finally, I think part of my message was sent because I could see the characters in my message list under my friend's name, but when I clicked the name to see my whole message it wouldn't load the message. And NOW I can't access any of my messages and I get this message from facebook how can I get access to my messages and conversations again?
