    Seeking a method to: Take whitespace separated tokens in a String; return a suggested Word ie: Google Search can take "fonetic wrd nterpreterr", and atop of the result page it shows "Did you mean: phonetic word interpreter" A solution in any of the C* languages or Java would be preferred. Are there any existing Open Libraries which perform such functionality? Or is there a way to Utilise a Google API to request a suggested word?

    I am trying to read .doc/.docx file with stream reader, but it give me output as unspecified character ie. ??[ ?L?f???C???. I'm writing the file using a text editor.   • is const (c++) optional?

    according to some tutorials i read a while back, the "const" declaration makes a variable "constant" ie it cannot change later. But i find this const declaration abit inconveniencing since the compiler sometimes gives errors like "cannot convert const int to int" or something like that. and i find myself cheating by removing it anyway. question: assuming that i am careful about not changing a variable in my source code, can i happily forget about this const stuff?     I am developing Javascript app that will wrap every line of text entered inside iframe (designmode) with P (or div) like it happens by default in IE. For now I am not pasting my code because I just started, the first problem is when i type some text in firefox and even before I click enter or calling any function firebug inserts <br _moz_dirty=""> under the entered text. Why? How can I prevent it? If you still need my code please tell.

    I'm trying to figure out why the text in the left navigation panel on the following page is shrinking & underlining when you mouseover in Firefox. http://fundcentre.newireland.ie/ Everything on the left & top is part of a wrapper that we inject our content into. Our content is everything from "FUND CENTRE" down. Can someone suggest something I could do to sort this issue out? Thanks.

  • Can I suppress or enforce URLs to be prefaced with http:// in ALL browsers?

    I want to ensure that regardless of what browser a user is in, they all see the EXACT same characters in the URL bar. Most browsers show the preceding protocol type in the URL bar. However, Chrome for example truncates http:// (not sure about https) and starts with the domain name, ie: Chrome: stackoverflow.com/questions/ask Safari: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask So, is there a way to either suppress the http:// in all browsers, or even enforce it in all browsers? Preferably suppress.

  • Haskell -> After parsing how to work with strings

    Hello after doing the parsing with a script in Haskell I got a file with the 'appearance' of lists of strings. However when I call the file content with the function getContents or hGetContents, ie, reading the contents I get something like: String with lines (schematically what I want is: "[" aaa "," bbb "" ccc "]" - ["aaa", "bbb" "ccc"]). I have tried with the read function but without results. I need to work with these lists of strings to concatenating them all in a single list. Thanks.

    Hello, I believe this question has been asked a lot of times, and I have managed to overcome this problem before whenever it occurred. Just now, I feel stuck with it and can't find a proper solution to make it work in all browsers: it does work properly only in Firefox, while in IE and Safari its elements are somehow apart from each other.   • html5media library doesn't work on FF 3.6.3

    Hi. Am I the only one experiencing this issue? I'm using the html5media library and the test page they provide no longer plays in Firefox 3.6.3, though it plays on the latest Safari, Chrome, Opera, and IE. On FF 3.6.3, it shows the video and the audio with large X through them. I'm using this library on my site and noticed the issue as well. I'm not seeing any errors in the error console.

  • Is it okay to use zoom:1 in my css classes?

    Whenever I find IE is displaying my website weird (different from chrome and firefox), I try putting a zoom:1 in the css class for the part that is being displayed weird. A lot of the time this fixes the problem and makes it look consistent with the other browsers. Is it a problem to use zoom:1? I know my CSS won't validate, but are there any real world problems that can arise if I rely too much on using zoom:1?

    I'm developing a cms for a company that has multiple regional sites (us, uk, china, russia, etc..). Should I use a separate database for each of these sites or use a single database with a 'site' field in each table? My main concern is the table language encoding (ie, can storing strings in different langauges in the same table cause problems, such as sorting issues).
