  • Computer wont install Windows Vista or Windows 7

    I had Windows Vista on my computer and wanted to upgrade to Windows 7 and thought that I would format my computer since it had been awhile. When I installed Windows 7 it wouldnt let me it would go through all the installation and then when my computer rebooted it would just be black screen with my mouse, I have tried mulitpule times now, and have just gone backs to Windows Vista, this no longer works and does the same thing as when I tried to insta I have a Nvidia GTX 275 video card, ASUS m2N-E SLI mother board,and a AMD 5200 Dual core processor

  • Default Text Color in Apple Mail.app

    Is there any way to set the default font color for new messages in Mail.app? It's trivial to set the actual font, and text size. I cannot seem to get the application to change the text color though. It always defaults to black. After 5 or 6 major revisions of OS X, surely someone has thought of this, right?

I would like that these software would have some of these features: -Syntax highlight according to the severity of the exceptions. -Tree view for stack traces and nested exceptions. Bonus point: -Alarm when certain pattern is matched.

    I would like to monitor the ram of two linux systems (Ubuntu and Red Hat). I realize I can run memtest86 from boot to diagnose bad ram. But are there are any solutions to monitor ram while the system is still running. I'm sort of thinking a daemon that writes and reads back from random unused memory. Anybody seen something like this before?

  • MacBook hangs when restarting to Vista through BootCamp

    I have Vista Pro installed on my Macbook and while it mostly works well, sometimes when I select Windows from the boot screen after turning the thing on, the screen just goes black and it all stops. If I hold the power button until it powers down and repeat, it works. It's not getting as far as Windows at all, I think, because if Windows was previously shut down to Hibernate, it still restores fine... and I'm pretty sure if Windows' startup had hung and been force-rebooted my session would be borked?

  • BSOD - probably video card prob

    I'm receiving the following BSOD: I've tried installing the latest driver from nVidia (296.10), but it says "NVIDIA installer cannot continue", "The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.": I installed it manually at device manager, but problem still occurs. The problem does not happen in safe mode at all. Note: After restarting the computer when seeing this BSOD, the BIOS welcome screen is full of random black dots spread around: Any solutions? Update: I've tried disabling Aero by following this guide, but that didn't help.

    I have a bunch of PDF ebooks ... while I know that traditional PDF readers (Acrobat, Preview) can be used to read them, I wonder if there are ebook software specifically tailored for long starring at the computer screen? Like white-on-black (night reading)? Is there any? Preferably a software that runs on MacOSX. If not, then Windows would be nice too.

    I have a server running on Debian wheezy with MaraiDB and OwnCloud. Few days ago, I wanted to update the packages because of the OwnCloud updates but something went wrong. I transferred all files and db from old to new , My questions: what else should I need to worry about ? how to transfer all cron job too? is I need to make entry of each site on httpd.conf or rackspace will do it , during IP swapping ?

    I'm attempting to change the boot device priority on a older HP. When it starts up it flashes a HP splash screen then just goes black with a blinking caret. I tried the suggestion of leaving it off for 5 sec then hitting F1. No dice. I'm using a USB keyboard. I might grab a PS2 and give it a go. Any other ideas?

  • How to create 1280x720 music video with static pic

    I wanna upload a song to youtube, and put a static 1280x720 pic as the video. I'd like the format to be one of the recommended ones. I tried Windows Movie Maker 2.6 but it only generated a 640x480 video. I also tried Windows Live Movie Maker but it put a big black margin around my pic (and unexplicably, produced a video with a slightly lower volume). Do you know any way to do what I need?

  • How to a2ensite and a2dissite?

    I'm logged into a Linux server. I think it's a Red Hat distribution. The commands a2ensite and a2dissite are not available. In the /etc/httpd directory, I don't see any mention of sites-enabled or sites-available. I'm pretty sure the site is currently executing the directives of /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf . I would like to do a a2dissite ssl, then reload the Web Server. How to do achieve this ?

  • How to change mouse pointer icon in Xfce Debian 7 Wheezy?

    I copied the cursor theme (oxy-neon or Oxygen Neon) to /usr/share/icons and from Applications Menu - Settings - Mouse, I am able to see the new theme. I clicked on it and the pointer doesn't change. However the text typing icon ('I'), busy icon, hand icon, and resize window icons got changed. The pointer icon remains the same, the black Adwaita. I removed the Adwaita folder from the icons folder, and still the mouse pointer doesn't change. Is the pointer theme specified elsewhere? I have no setting under home directory. I tried logging out, restart, restarting xfwm4, but nothing works. I just found that the icon pointer changes when the pointer is inside Firefox, but it's not consistent. It keeps changing when I click menu items. Very weird. Any idea how to fix this?     Hi, I am trying to encode a .mp4 to a .flv I've tried using the Adobe Media Encoder but the video is lost in the conversion process, leaving me a black screen and some audio. I have yet to find something that can do this successfully for free. I found ffmpeg, which looks promising... but I can't figure out how to get it to work.   • Circle values that don't match any of the ones in a dropdown list

    I created a dropdown list with values and assigned them to one of the columns in a table. When I changed a few, then changed the name of items in the list and removed some I accidentally did some key combination somewhere around Ctrl+Z or Ctrl+Y and Excel highlighted cells in the table that had a value not on the list. The highlighting looks like a red oval around each such cell. How can I toggle it on and off?

I am using the following command on Mac, sudo scp ~/.ssh/mykey.rsa [email protected], there is no output from Mac command line. I am not sure whether the scp is success or not.
