  • Enforce numbers in mobile web form

    - by Peter Smit
    I have a simple webform targeted for Opera Mini and Opera Mobile. I'm using just a HTML input element. Now I would like to restrict the element to only have integer numbers. Is there a way to enforce this in this browser (possible even that the phone will have it's number mode on when entering the form)? And if I wanted to allow floats, is something possible then?

  • Pointer arithmetic and arrays: what's really legal?

    - by bitcruncher
    Consider the following statements: int *pFarr, *pVarr; int farr[3] = {11,22,33}; int varr[3] = {7,8,9}; pFarr = &(farr[0]); pVarr = varr; At this stage, both pointers are pointing at the start of each respective array address. For *pFarr, we are presently looking at 11 and for *pVarr, 7. Equally, if I request the contents of each array through *farr and *varr, i also get 11 and 7. So far so good. Now, let's try pFarr++ and pVarr++. Great. We're now looking at 22 and 8, as expected. But now... Trying to move up farr++ and varr++ ... and we get "wrong type of argument to increment". Now, I recognize the difference between an array pointer and a regular pointer, but since their behaviour is similar, why this limitation? This is further confusing to me when I also consider that in the same program I can call the following function in an ostensibly correct way and in another incorrect way, and I get the same behaviour, though in contrast to what happened in the code posted above!? working_on_pointers ( pFarr, farr ); // calling with expected parameters working_on_pointers ( farr, pFarr ); // calling with inverted parameters . void working_on_pointers ( int *pExpect, int aExpect[] ) { printf("%i", *pExpect); // displays the contents of pExpect ok printf("%i", *aExpect); // displays the contents of aExpect ok pExpect++; // no warnings or errors aExpect++; // no warnings or errors printf("%i", *pExpect); // displays the next element or an overflow element (with no errors) printf("%i", *aExpect); // displays the next element or an overflow element (with no errors) } Could someone help me to understand why array pointers and pointers behave in similar ways in some contexts, but different in others? So many thanks. EDIT: Noobs like myself could further benefit from this resource: http://www.panix.com/~elflord/cpp/gotchas/index.shtml

  • Xcode - some variables don't show

    - by Mike
    This picture shows a debugging session. "lista" is a NSMutableArray containing, in this case, two elements: 0 and 1. Each element's content is seen on the debugging window as {(unichar *)Xcode_CFStringSummary($VAR, $ID)}:s but if I double click on any element, its value shows on a pop up window. Why is the values don't showing directly? How to force Xcode to show the values instead of this stupid and useless "{(unichar *)Xcode_CFStringSummary($VAR, $ID)}:s" ? thanks for any help.

  • Javascript crazy idea finding a node

    - by Louis
    I had a crazy (but so crazy that it just might work) idea where every element on a page is created in javascript but given an ID which is a hash of its path in the DOM. So instead of searching through the DOM to find an element, you hash the path and then getElementById() with that hash. Problem with this is getting the path might be more expensive than searching the DOM in the first place. Any ideas how this could be done or if it is just plain stupid?

  • Galleria jQuery plugin briefly shows all images in IE 7 & 8

    - by hollyb
    I'm using the galleria jQuery plugin on a site. When the gallery first loads, all of the images appear briefly & vertically in ie 7 & 8. This doesn't happen when i isolate the gallery, only when i put it on a somewhat heavy page. This leads me to believe that it happens when the page is a little slow to load. Does anybody know a way to fix this? I feel like an overflow: hidden should fix this, but I've applied it along with a height in every container I could think of. Anybody have any ideas? Here is my css: .galleria{list-style:none;width:350px; overflow:hidden; height: 70px;} .galleria li{display:block;width:50px;height:50px;overflow:hidden;float:left;margin:4px 10px 20px 0;} .galleria li a{display:none;} .galleria li div{position:absolute;display:none;top:0;left:180px;} .galleria li div img{cursor:pointer;} .galleria li.active div img,.galleria li.active div{display:block;} .galleria li img.thumb{cursor:pointer;top:auto;left:auto;display:block;width:auto;height:auto} .galleria li .caption{display: inline;padding-top:.5em; width: 300px; } * html .galleria li div span{width:350px;} /* MSIE bug */ html: <ul class="gallery"> <li class="active"><img src="1.jpg" cap="A great veiw by so and so. • Extracting the source code of a facebook page with JavaScript

    - by Hafizi Vilie
    If I write code in the JavaScript console of Chrome, I can retrieve the whole HTML source code by entering: var a = document.body.InnerHTML; alert(a); For fb_dtsg on Facebook, I can easily extract it by writing: var fb_dtsg = document.getElementsByName('fb_dtsg')[0].value; Now, I am trying to extract the code "h=AfJSxEzzdTSrz-pS" from the Facebook Page. The h value is especially useful for Facebook reporting. How can I get the h value for reporting? I don't know what the h value is; the h value is totally different when you communicate with different users. Without that h correct value, you can not report. Actually, the h value is AfXXXXXXXXXXX (11 character values after 'Af'), that is what I know. Do you have any ideas for getting the value or any function to generate on Facebook page. The Facebook Source snippet is below, you can view source on facebook profile, and search h=Af, you will get the value: <code class="hidden_elem" id="ukftg4w44"> <!-- <div class="mtm mlm"> ... .... <span class="itemLabel fsm">Unfriend...</span></a></li> <li class="uiMenuItem" data-label="Report/Block..."> <a class="itemAnchor" role="menuitem" tabindex="-1" href="/ajax/report/social.php?content_type=0&amp;cid=1352686914&amp;rid=1352686914&amp;ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2 F%3Fq&amp;h=AfjSxEzzdTSrz-pS&amp;from_gear=timeline" rel="dialog"> <span class="itemLabel fsm">Report/Block...</span></a></li></ul></div> ... .... </div> --> </code> Please guide me. How can extract the value exactly? I tried with following code, but the comment block prevent me to extract the code. How can extract the value which is inside comment block? var a = document.getElementsByClassName('hidden_elem')[3].innerHTML;alert(a);

  • Quartz job fires multiple times

    - by GustlyWind
    Hi, I have a building block which sets up a Quartz job to send out emails every morning. The job is fired three times every morning instead of once. We have a hosted instance of Blackboard, which I am told runs on three virtual servers. I am guessing this is what is causing the problem, as the building block was previously working fine on a single server installation. Does anyone have Quartz experience, or could suggest how one might prevent the job from firing multiple times? Thanks,

  • Handwritten linked list is segfaulting and I don't understand why

    - by Born2Smile
    Hi I was working on a bit of fun, making an interface to run gnuplot from within c++, and for some reason the my linked list implementation fails. The code below fails on the line plots-append(&plot). Stepping through the code I discovered that for some reason the destructor ~John() is called immediately after the constructor John(), and I cannot seem to figure out why. The code included below is a stripped down version operating only on Plot*. Originally I made the linked list as a template class. And it worked fine as ll<int and ll<char* but for some reason it fails as ll<Plot*. Could youp please help me figure out why it fails? and perhaps help me understand how to make it work? In advance: Thanks a heap! //B2S #include <string.h class Plot{ char title[80]; public: Plot(){ } }; class Link{ Plot* element; Link* next; Link* prev; friend class ll; }; class ll{ Link* head; Link* tail; public: ll(){ head = tail = new Link(); head-prev = tail-prev = head-next = tail-next = head; } ~ll(){ while (head!=tail){ tail = tail-prev; delete tail-next; } delete head; } void append(Plot* element){ tail-element = element; tail-next = new Link(); tail-next-prev = tail; tail-next = tail; } }; class John{ ll* plots; public: John(){ plots= new ll(); } ~John(){ delete plots; } John(Plot* plot){ John(); plots-append(plot); } }; int main(){ Plot p; John k(&p); }
