• Getting NoClassDefFoundError only with TestCases

  I have one class, that creates excel sheet.For that I added poi-3.2.jar to classpath. I am working with Eclipse3.7. I have generated testcases by recording workbench actions using with WindowTester Pro. I edited generated testcase and tried to create excel sheet within that to write test result. If I use same API from normal java program (within that plugin itself), it can able to create excel file without errors. But, when I try to create from testcase, I am getting the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook I have added required jar file into lib folder and added to build-path. Why its working from normal java program, but not working from WindowTester generated testcase. Could anyone help me.

  Using WATIR and Excel, I'd like to take the first row of a table in Excel, visit the URL, then set the 12th link on the page as a variable in the cell next to the cell with the URL, then go to the next line and repeat. I'm stuck on getting the URL of the 12th link on the page to set as a variable that I can feed into the next cell in Excel. • How to run a COM .dll on a remote server?

  I have a legacy 3rd party COM .dll that is used to provide an Excel-callable interface to a proprietary database product. The .dll runs on the same physical machine as Excel. I have a need to execute the .dll (and the database it is calling) on a remote server while still maintaining simple Excel callability from the client. I'm totally confused by all the different MS technologies that seem to hint there is an easy way to do this. Can someone please point me in the right direction (easier is better)?

• Is vbscripting that difficult?

  I need to write some vbscripts in my new project. I was told by other people that vbscripting is easy, but seems to me, it is not. For example, in the following example (provided by microsoft), these functions: CreateObject, CreateShortcut, as well as these property names: TargetPath, WindowStyle, Hotkey, etc, are used, but I just cannot find the corresponding API documentation about how to use them. In other words, how do you know you need to call these functions in your vbscripts? Visual Studio 2008/2010 do not have templates for vbscript either. • Does anyone use AODL in a real application?

  We are currently using the Excel interop API in .NET to generate simple spreadsheet documents from a template. So we load the template first, insert some rows, fill in some data (dates, text, and numbers), and make Excel visible so that the user can print or save the document we just generated. But I'd like to get rid of the Excel dependency, and switch to the ODF format as well. Googling suggests AODL (C# libs for generating ODF docs) as the most obvious solution. But their last release is 1.3.0.0 BETA, and seems to be 3 years old. So I'm not sure if it's a good idea to depend on a potentially dead project... In that case, I'd need to find another solution. Any ideas? Or maybe someone could assure me that AODL is still alive?

• Need a Concatenating VBA code to prevent memory issue workaround

  My set up: Have 50,000 rows of data. ( My row count will increase in the future. So might as well say I have a full worksheet of 64000+ rows.) All Data is TEXT, no formulas, etc. Column A is open Columns B thru AC contain the Data that needs to be concatenated The Data in the rows once concatenated to Column A will contain 60,000 digits or 6kb in file size. After additional maniuplation each cell will become a file. I have tried concatenating in Excel and I run into memory issues. The memory issue is when I Select and fill down the concatenating function into the worksheet. It crashes at the 8200 +/-row. My system is 2gb of ram, windows xp professional and Excel 2003. Have 4GB of disk space Hoping to find a VBA code that will conserve memory, and not crash like it does in excel. Thank you

My problem is, i have copied the .class file into other directory with the necessary jar files need to create this excel sheet, for example my .class is inside "pack" package. c:/myprogram/pack/excelprogram.class to d:/myprogram /pack/excelprogram.class /jxl.jar /ojdbc14.jar if i run the program javac pack.excelprogram it display below error Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: jxl.format.CellFormat i have dependency jar file(jxl.jar) for this excel sheet creation.Error is displaying from that only. i have set class path for this jar file like set classpath="%classpath%";d:/myprogram/jxl.jar;d:/myprogram/ojdbc14.jar;.; even though i'm getting the same error. Please help ASAP.

  Are you new to the ribbon interface in Office 2010?  Here’s how you can get up to speed and learn where everything is quickly and easily. Microsoft has made an interactive guide to Office 2010’s new interface to help users learn their way around the new version.  If you’ve already used Office 2007, then Office 2010 will be very easy to transition to, but if you’re still using Office 2003 you may find the learning curve more steep.  With this interactive guide, upgrading your Office skills doesn’t have to be hard. Learn Your Way Around the Office Ribbon Open the Office 2010 interactive guides site (link below) in your browser, and select the Office app you want to explore. The guides are powered by Silverlight, so if you don’t already have it installed you will be prompted to do so. Once the guide has loaded, click Start to begin. Select any menu or toolbar item in the Office 2003 mockup.  A tooltip will appear to show you how to find this option in Word 2010. If you click the item, the interface will switch to an Office 2010 mockup and will interactively show you how to access this feature.  The Thumbnails view isn’t available by default in Word 2010, so it shows us how to add it to the ribbon.  When you’ve figured this command out, click anywhere to go back to the Office 2003 mockup and find another item. Currently the guides are available for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, but the site says that guides for the other Office apps will be available soon.  Here’s the PowerPoint guide showing where the Rehearse Timings option is in PowerPoint 2010. Install the Interactive Guides to Your Computer You can also install the guides to your computer so you can easily access them even if you’re not online.  Open the guide you want to install, and click the Install button in the top right corner of the guide. Choose where you want the shortcuts, and click Ok. Here’s the Interactive Word 2010 guide installed on our computer.  The downloaded version seemed to work faster in our tests, likely because all the content was already saved to the computer.  If you decide you don’t need it any more, click Uninstall in the top right corner. Download Office Cheat Sheets If you’d like a cheat-sheet of Office commands that have changed or are new in Office 2010, Microsoft’s got that for you, too.  You can download Office reference workbooks (link below) that show how to access each item that was in Office 2003’s menus.  Here’s the Word guide showing where each of Word 2003’s commands from the help menu are in Word 2010. Learn Your Way Around Office 2007, Too! Microsoft offers similar interactive guides for learning the ribbon in Office 2007, so if you’re still using Office 2007 but can’t find a command, feel free to check it out as well (link below).  Guides are available for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook 2007.  You can also download cheat sheets for Office 2007 at this site as well.  Here’s the tutorial showing us where the font options are in PowerPoint 2007.   I installed the Flash 11 plugin using the software center (and have also removed the reinstalled it via command-line in the terminal), yet Firefox still claims the latest version of the plugin I have is 10. (And just to clarify, I have been sure to reboot both Firefox and the entire computer after installing). On further investigation (this may be a red herring, pardon) I ran the uname -a command-line in terminal to assure that I was running the 64-bit version of Ubuntu, and received this feedback: 3.0.0-13-generic #22-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 2 13:25:36 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I don't understand the series "i686 i686 i386". Which applies to my version of Ubuntu? Does this mean I've accidentally installed 32-bit Ubuntu? Very much a beginner here - I've combed the threads but have so little understanding what my exact issue is that I haven't been able to find an answer.

  Like in Office 2007 the default color scheme for 2010 is blue. If you are not a fan of it, here we show you how to change it to silver or black. In this example we are using Microsoft Word, but it works the same way in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint as well. Once you change the color scheme in one Office application, it will change it for all of the other apps in the suite. Change Color Scheme To change the color scheme click on the File tab to access Backstage View and click on Options. In Word Options the General section should open by default…use the dropdown menu next to Color Scheme to change it to Silver, Blue, or Black then click OK. Here is what Black looks like…who knows why Microsoft decided to leave the blue around the edges. This is the default Blue color scheme… And finally we take a look at the Silver color scheme in Excel… That is all there is to it! It would be nice if they would incorporate other color schemes to Office 2010, as some of you may not be happy with only three choices.   THe built in sd card reader on the macbook pro 8,1 (2011, early or mid i think) doesnt work AT ALL. However i read here.... https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/801034 that someone plugged in ethernet and it works. How the hell does that make a difference? There has to be some kind of better workaround? I take my laptop on the go, thats why i bought a LAPTOP. I dont want to be tethered down. Please help?
