  • Alternatives to checking against the system time

    Hi, I have an application which license should expire after some period of time. I can check the time in the applicatino against the system time, but system time can be changed by the administrator, therefore it's not a good idea to check against the system time in my opinion. What alternatives do I have? Thank you

    We have a usb device and the drivers (.inf, libusb.dll, libusb.sys) and can install it using Windows' Device Installation Wizard (by pointing to the .inf file). However, we need to install the drivers without using the wizard (passively, so the user doesn't need to do anything). Does anyone know how this can be achieved?

  • System.Web.UI not available in console app?

    Hey everybody, Im trying to write a quick console app that outputs data to an HTML file, however im having trouble accessing the System.Web.UI namespace. Adding System.Web to my references places a warning icon on top of the reference name in the solution explorer and System.Web is not available in the .NET reference list (in order for me to actually add it to the project I have to go to the object browser and add it from there). Anybody have any ideas about what I could be missing? Thanks alot people!

  • Fast exchange of data between unmanaged code and managed code

    Hello: Without using p/invoke, from a C++/CLI I have succeeded in integrating various methods of a DLL library from a third party built in C. One of these methods retrieves information from a database and stores it in different structures. The C++/CLI program I wrote reads those structures and stores them in a List<, which is then returned to the corresponding reading and use of an application programmed completely in C#. I understand that the double handling of data (first, filling in several structures and then, filling all of these structures into a list<) may generate an unnecessary overload, at which point I wish C++/CLI had the keyword "yield". Depending on the above scenario, do you have recommendations to avoid or reduce this overload? Thanks.

    hi, I made a swf that interacts with other site on the internet (which has a crossdomainfile for me). in the main.mxml there is a definition of webservice (mx:WebService)(which is not in my domain). Therefore when loading the swf, there is a first call to crossdomainfile.xml. I put this swf on my server so that my clients can get it. When i connect to my server to download the swf, i expect to be asked if i want to allow the swf connect to foreign webservice domain. But i am not being asked. Do i always need to define exception in Global Security Settings panel? I don't want my client do define special things.. Is there a best practice for that? Why when i surfing the net other swf can do this? I read about the FlashPlayerTrust, can i define there a website i trust my swf will connect to? anyone knows?

I need some classes for playing short wav sounds, this classes would load this wav files into memory when an instance created, play sounds in background when needed, release this wav files from memory when an instance disposed. How can I do this on C# for windows (.Net 2.0)? (Win API's sndPlaySound, OpenAL or may be any wrapper) Ideally I would love to find an exist solution that simple and able to solve my task.     Hello, I am trying develop a basic referrer system to my Django website, system will be generating a unique url for each users to share with their friends. Once these friends enter this website, system somehow keep the data that "this user is browsing by the reference of X user" and once this invited person decided to register for an account, system will save this information (maybe as an extra Foreign Key of the inviting user in the UserProfile model) Now how can I keep track of the inviting user from the moment entering using the referred link to the point where he/she registers to the site. Would session framework work on this? If not how could this be done ?

  • Android programming: Authentication and data exchange with Java EE

    I am having a Java application running in a Tomcat server using Spring, Hibernate, etc. and a two web interfaces, one implemented in Tapestry 5 and the other one using Flex with BlazeDS and Spring-BlazeDS. In my first android application I would now like to log in to the server and retrieve some data. I´m wondering how I could achieve this in a secure way. First of all I need to know which technology is the best to retrieve data from the server and how can I restrict the access to users only that have been successfully authenticated. With what I read until now I would try to implement a HTTPServlet on the server and make server calls via HTTP Client. In the servlet I could probably use the HTTPSession to check if the request comes from an authenticated user. And the data I would try to send serialized (JSON). Unfortunately, I´ve never done those things and maybe I´m on the wrong way and there are more comfortable solutions.

  • How to use the Visual Studio 2012 command line tool from system()

    I am attempting to compile and run one visual C++ program (project1) from another visual C++ program (project2) using msbuild and other commands available in the Visual studio command line tool but not in the windows command line tool. Everything works fine if I run it in the visual studio command line tool. For example I can build using msbuild and it works just as I want it to. When I try to run the same command in my C++ program using system(), the system call appears to use the Windows command line and therefore cannot find any of the commands (msbuild in this example). I am new to working with system() on windows (although I have extensive experience with it using Linux). Is there some way to make my C++ program use the Visual Studio command line environment when I call system (rather than Windows command line environment)? Using the command window manually is not an option. I need to compile and test a series of 200-300 different versions of the program in the project1. This is why I am writing program2

    I added new rows to my database through SQLiteManager but I cannot see those values in my tableview. My old values are seen. More interestingly, I deleted my database file but I can see my old values again in my tableview. When I created new database with new name, it sees that. How can I make it perceive new values?

I got on first server: return serialize ( $results ); and on second: $data = unserialize ( file_get_contents ( 'http://www.......com/reader.php' ) ); ...but there is no communication between ....     Hi all, I've used the default .NET serialization for a class with a System.Drawing.Color member. The code is now in use by people, and I need to add an extra member to the class, but still deserialize older versions. So I tried the standard way of doing this: The ISerializable interface, using SerializationInfo methods to get the int and string members. The problem: My class also has a System.Drawing.Color member, but SerializationInfo doesn't provide a "GetColor" method read this data type. I've tried getting it as an int and as a string, and casting it to System.Drawing.Color, but no luck. Does anyone know how to deserialize a System.Drawing.Color from SerializationInfo? Thanx! Alan

My application is supposed to work in an executable jar so no absolute path technique please.

    I'm writing a System::Wrapper module to abstract away from CORE::system and the qx operator. I have a serial method that attempts to connect command1's output to command2's input. I've made some progress using named pipes, but POSIX::mkfifo is not cross-platform. My specific questions: Is there an alternative to POSIX::mkfifo that is cross-platform? Win32 named pipes don't work, as you can't open those as regular files, neither do sockets, for the same reasons. The above doesn't quite work; the two threads get spawned correctly, but nothing flows across the pipe. I suppose that might have something to do with pipe deadlocking or output buffering. What throws me off is that when I run those two commands in the actual shell, everything works as expected.
