    What sql query would you write to get the table names which have a particular foriegn key. Eg. Person_Table(person_id,name,address,...) Purchases_Table(purchaseid, purchased_by_id(fkey)....) AccountDetails_Table(AccountId,PersonID,....) Roles_Table(PersonId,RoleID) Now i want to find the table names where Person id is used as a foreign key. The above schema would return me Purchases_Table,AccountDetails_Table, Roles_Table Database: SQL Server

    Hi everyone, SELECT * FROM jobs WHERE (SELECT DISTINCT jobs.* FROM jobs, job_requests WHERE (jobs.user_id = 1) OR (job_requests.user_id = 1 AND job_requests.job_id = jobs.id)) This sql gives me Mysql::Error: Operand should contain 1 column(s). If i execute the select from the where clause it works SELECT DISTINCT jobs.* FROM jobs, job_requests WHERE (jobs.user_id = 1) OR (job_requests.user_id = 1 AND job_requests.job_id = jobs.id) Could somebody explain me why? This query is generated by rails activerecord so the main select is needed.

I want different controllers/actions to be invoked depending on the presence of a parameter after the '?'. I was trying something like this... map.connect "api/my/path?apple=:applecode", :controller = 'apples_controller', :action = 'my_action' map.connect "api/my/path?banana=:bananacode", :controller = 'bananas_controller', :action = 'my_action' For routing purposes I don't care about the value of the parameter, as long as it is available to the controller in the 'params' hash

I have a location field (which I've just created) and want to run a query to populate it with either 'Building 1' or 'Building 2' depending on which room number it has in the 'Room' field.   • Nhibernate generate plain sql query instead of execution statement

    Using SQL profiler, I was able to find the query generated from Nhibernate was executed in the EXEC sp_executesql N'select ...' fashion. I am wondering if there is any way to force Nhibernate to generate the plain Select ... statement instead. The reason I want this is because apparently SQL Server generated different execution plans for them, and in my scenario, the plain "select ..." runs MUCH faster.

The porblem is that my table 'Documents_Folders' is not an entity. In fact, it was create because I have a many-to-many relation between my entities 'Document' and 'Folder'.     This Query is giving me an error of #1054 - Unknown column 'totalamount' in 'where clause' SELECT (amount1 + amount2) as totalamount FROM `Donation` WHERE totalamount > 1000 I know i can resolve this error by using group by clause and replace my where condition with having clause. But is there any other solution beside using having clause. If group by is the only solution then I want to know why I have to use group by clause even I havent use any aggregate function thanks.
