  • can a webservice load jars during run time

    - by KItis
I have created a simple web-service using Java. i want to load jars related to web-service during runtime. I have done this task for normal Java application. there what I did was JarFile jar = new JarFile(f.getPath()); final Manifest manifest = jar.getManifest(); final Attributes mattr = manifest.getMainAttributes(); // Read the manifset in jar files and get the Name attribute // whare it specified the class that need to load //for (Object a : mattr.keySet()) { for (Iterator iter = mattr.keySet().iterator(); iter.hasNext();) { Object obj = (Object)iter.next(); if ("ServiceName".equals(obj.toString())) className = mattr.getValue((Name) obj); //System.out.println(className); } /* * Create the jar class loader and use the first argument passed * in from the command line as the jar file to use. */ JarClassLoader jarLoader = new JarClassLoader(f.getPath()); /* Load the class from the jar file and resolve it. */ Class c = jarLoader.loadClass(className, true); My problem is can I put jars that need to be loaded during run time in to separate folder rather than putting in to WEBINF folder. do i have to put jars both in axis and web-application. thanks in advance for any contribution for this question.

  • Amazone API ItemSearch returns (400) Bad Request.

    - by BuzzBubba
I'm using a simple example from Amazon documentation for ItemSearch and I get a strange error: "The remote server returned an unexpected response: (400) Bad Request." This is the code: public static void Main() { //Remember to create an instance of the amazon service, including you Access ID. AWSECommerceServicePortTypeClient service = new AWSECommerceServicePortTypeClient(new BasicHttpBinding(), new EndpointAddress( "http://webservices.amazon.com/onca/soap?Service=AWSECommerceService")); AWSECommerceServicePortTypeClient client = new AWSECommerceServicePortTypeClient( new BasicHttpBinding(), new EndpointAddress("http://webservices.amazon.com/onca/soap?Service=AWSECommerceService")); // prepare an ItemSearch request ItemSearchRequest request = new ItemSearchRequest(); request.SearchIndex = "Books"; request.Title = "Harry+Potter"; request.ResponseGroup = new string[] { "Small" }; ItemSearch itemSearch = new ItemSearch(); itemSearch.Request = new ItemSearchRequest[] { request }; itemSearch.AWSAccessKeyId = accessKeyId; // issue the ItemSearch request try { ItemSearchResponse response = client.ItemSearch(itemSearch); // write out the results foreach (var item in response.Items[0].Item) { Console.WriteLine(item.ItemAttributes.Title); } } catch(Exception e) { Console.ForegroundColor = ConsoleColor.Red; Console.WriteLine(e.Message); Console.ForegroundColor = ConsoleColor.White; Console.WriteLine("Press any key to quit..."); Clipboard.SetText(e.Message); } Console.ReadKey(); What is wrong?

    - by H P
Hello, I am new to Flex and needed some help setting up Web service client. I have a web service of method: public String printEchoStr(String str); I am facing problem while creating action script to call this service. I am getting error: 1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type generated.webservices:PrintEcho. I am not sure if this is the correct way. Thanks, -H <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" xmlns:srv="generated.webservices.*" creationComplete="initFunc()"> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import generated.webservices.EchoService; import generated.webservices.PrintEchoStrResultEvent; import generated.webservices.PrintEchoResultEvent; import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent; import mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent; import mx.controls.Alert; import generated.webservices.PrintEchoStr; import generated.webservices.PrintEcho; public var myService:EchoService = new EchoService(); private function initFunc():void{ myService.addprintEchoStrEventListener(argPrintEchoStr); /*-------------- 1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type generated.webservices:PrintEcho. at line below ----------------*/ myService.printEchoStr(textAreaPrintEchoStr.text); myService.addEventListener(FaultEvent.FAULT,myServices_faultHandler); } public function argPrintEchoStr(event:PrintEchoStrResultEvent):void{ trace(event.result); } private function myServices_faultHandler(event:FaultEvent):void { Alert.show(event.fault.faultString,"error with WebServices"); } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:TextArea id ="textAreaPrintEchoStr" x="81" y="125"/> </mx:Application>

  • how to implement windows service loop that waits for a period in C# / .NET2.0

    - by matti
    My question is that is this the best practice to do this. Couldn't find any good examples. I have following code in file created by VS2005: public partial class ObjectFolder : ServiceBase { protected override void OnStart(string[] args) { ObjectFolderApp.Initialize(); ObjectFolderApp.StartMonitorAndWork(); } protected override void OnStop() { // TODO: Add code here to perform any tear-down necessary to stop yourservice. } } then: class ObjectFolderApp { public static bool Initialize() { //all init stuff return true; } public static void StartMonitorAndWork() { Thread worker = new Thread(MonitorAndWork); worker.Start(); } private static void MonitorAndWork() { int loopTime = 60000; if (int.TryParse(_cfgValues.GetConfigValue("OfWaitLoop"), out loopTime)) loopTime = 1000 * loopTime; while (true) { /* create+open connection and fill DataSet */ DataSet ofDataSet = new DataSet("ObjectFolderSet"); using (_cnctn = _dbFactory.CreateConnection()) { _cnctn.Open(); //do all kinds of database stuff } Thread.Sleep(loopTime); } } }

  • Implementing a scalable and high-performing web app

    - by Christopher McCann
I have asked a few questions on here before about various things relating to this but this is more of a consolidation question as I would like to check I have got the gist of everything. I am in the middle of developing a social media web app and although I have a lot of experience coding in Java and in PHP I am trying things a bit different this time. I have modularised each component of the application. So for example one component of the application allows users to private message each other and I have split this off into its own private messaging service. I have also created a user data service the purpose of which is to return data about the user for example their name, address, age etc etc from the database. Their is also another service, the friends service, which will work off the neo4j database to create a social graph. My reason for doing all this is to allow me up to update seperate modules when I need to - so while they mostly all run off MySQL right now I could move one to Cassandra later if I thought it approriate. The actual code of the web app is really just used for the final construction. The modules behind it dont really follow any strict REST or SOAP protocol. Basically each method on our API is turned into a PHP procedural script. This then may make calls to other back-end code which tends to be OO. The web app makes CURL requests to these pages and POSTs data to them or GETs data from them. These pages then return JSON where data is required. I'm still a little mixed up about how I actually identify which user is logged in at that moment. Do I just use sessions for that? Like if we called the get-messages.php script which equates to the getMessages() method for that user - returning all the private messages for that user - how would the back-end code know which user it is as posting the users ID to the script would not be secure. Anyone could do that and get all the messages. So I thought I would use sessions for it. Am I correct on this? Can anyone spot any other problems with what I am doing here? Thanks

  • How do I create a Web Service in Visual Studio.NET using a WSDL file?

    - by myermian
I'm trying to use a WSDL Top Down approach to create a Web Service in Visual Studio 2010. I used Eclipse's WSDL GUI Editor to generate a WSDL file (CalculatorWSDL.wsdl) which uses the SOAP method for communication. I also used wsdl.exe to generate a C# file (Calculator.cs). Now, I'm not sure what to do next. How do I actually use the Calculator.cs on the server and/or client?

When using ria service for SL app, I can issue following async call to get a group of entity list. • WCF Best Practice for "Overloaded" methods

    - by Nate Bross
What is the best practice for emulating overloaded methods over WCF? Typically I might write an interface like this interface IInterface { MyType ReadMyType(int id); IEnumerable<MyType> ReadMyType(String name); IEnumerable<MyType> ReadMyType(String name, int maxResults); } What would this interface look like after you converted it to WCF?

  • Asp.net (c#) and a JEE 5 webservice

    - by arinte
We have a asp.net app that talks to a pretty complex JEE 5 web service. Everything works fine except when we throw an exception. We throw a simple exception without any inner/orig exception, but we get this message on the .Net side. Additional XML content is present in the fault detail element. Only a single element is allowed. Works fine with a java client, as in we can get the exception message. What can we do?

  • Cannot install windows service

    - by Matthew Dalton
I have created a very simple window service using visual studio 2010 and .Net 4.0. This service has no functionality added from the default windows service project, other than an installer has been added. If i run installutil.exe appName.exe on my dev box or other windows 2008 R2 machines in our domain the windows service installs without issue. When i try to do this same thing on our customer site, it fails to install with the following error. Microsoft (R) .NET Framework Installation utility Version 4.0.30319.1 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Exception occurred while initializing the installation: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\TestService\WindowsService1.exe' or one of its dependencies. Operation is not supported. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131515). This solution has only 1 project and no dependencies added. I have tried it on multiple machines in our environment and two in our customers. The machines are all windows 2008 R2, both fresh installs. One machine has just .net 2.0 and .net 4.0. The other .net 2, 3, 3.5 and 4. I am a local admin on each of the machines. I have also tried the 64bit installer but get the following error, so i think the 32 bit one is the one to use. System.BadImageFormatException Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Problem in generation of custom classes at web service client

    - by user443324
I have a web service which receives an custom object and returns another custom object. It can be deployed successfully on GlassFish or JBoss. @WebMethod(operationName = "providerRQ") @WebResult(name = "BookingInfoResponse" , targetNamespace = "http://tlonewayresprovidrs.jaxbutil.rakes.nhst.com/") public com.nhst.rakes.jaxbutil.tlonewayresprovidrs.BookingInfoResponse providerRQ(@WebParam(name = "BookingInfoRequest" , targetNamespace = "http://tlonewayresprovidrq.jaxbutil.rakes.nhst.com/") com.nhst.rakes.jaxbutil.tlonewayresprovidrq.BookingInfoRequest BookingInfoRequest) { com.nhst.rakes.jaxbutil.tlonewayresprovidrs.BookingInfoResponse BookingInfoResponse = new com.nhst.rakes.jaxbutil.tlonewayresprovidrs.BookingInfoResponse(); return BookingInfoResponse; } But when I create a client for this web service, two instances of BookingInfoRequest and BookingInfoResponse generated even I need only one instance. This time an error is returned that says multiple classes with same name are can not be possible....... • How do you deserialize a collection with child collections?

    - by Stuart Helwig
I have a collection of custom entity objects one property of which is an ArrayList of byte arrays. The custom entity is serializable and the collection property is marked with the following attributes: [XmlArray("Images"), XmlArrayItem("Image",typeof(byte[]))] So I serialize a collection of these custom entities and pass them to a web service, as a string. The web service receives the string and byte array in tact, The following code then attempts to deserialize the collection - back into custom entities for processing... XmlSerializer ser = new XmlSerializer(typeof(List<myCustomEntity>)); StringReader reader = new StringReader(xmlStringPassedToWS); List<myCustomEntity> entities = (List<myCustomEntity>)ser.Deserialize(reader); foreach (myCustomEntity e in entities) { // ...do some stuff... foreach (myChildCollection c in entities.ChildCollection { // .. do some more stuff.... } } I've checked the XML resulting from the initial serialization and it does contain byte array - the child collection, as does the StringReader built above. After the deserialization process, the resulting collection of custom entites is fine, except that each object in the collection does not contain any items in its child collection. (i.e. it doesn't get to "...do some more stuff..." above. Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong? Is it possible to serialize ArrayLists within a generic collection of custom entities?

  • a free logging proxy anybody (HTTP or TCP)?

    - by zvolkov
I need to debug a web service. I want to point my client app to the proxy URL and point the proxy to the real service URL and see all requests/responses. I know I could do network sniffing (Wireshark/Ethereal) but isn't there a simple "proxy" app that can do this? I found trivialproxy but the links are broken :(

  • Max number of web methods?

    - by Rippo
Guys I have a web service in asp.net 2.0 that has 234 methods. It seems that when I add another method the site does not compile in VS2005 until I remove one first. I get a message saying that the new method I just added does not exist in a file that belongs in the Microsoft.Net/.../Temporary Files directory. I have restarted IIS, closed down VS2005, removed all files from this temp directory but to no avail. The only way to get the code to compile is to remove another one so as to keep 234 methods.... I can consistency replicate this behaviour so it cannot be my code. Now I know this seems strange but it is true! One other strange thing is that exactly 100 of the method names begin with the word GetXXXyyyZZZ Has anyone else experienced problems with the maximum number of methods that are allowed in a web service? Many Thanks

  • Using PUT/POST/DELETE with JSONP and jQuery

    - by ryanzec
I am working on creating a RESTful API that supports cross-domain requests, JSON/JSONP support, and the main HTTP method (PUT/GET/POST/DELETE). Now while will be easy to accessing this API through server side code , it would nice to exposed it to javascript. From what I can tell, when doing a JSONP requests with jQuery, it only supports the GET method. Is there a way to do a JSONP request using POST/PUT/DELETE? Ideally I would like a way to do this from within jQuery (through a plugin if the core does not support this), but I will take a plain javascript solution too. Any links to working code or how to code it would be helpful, thanks.
