  • FLEX: Hillelcoren - AutoComplete (I cannot use searchText attribute)

    hi, I'm using hillelcoren:AutoComplete component (hillelcoren.com/flex-autocomplete) in my Flex application. It is really cool, however the text attribute doesn't work: <hillelcoren:AutoComplete id="filterTag" dataProvider="{ dataManager.retrievedTagsList }" labelField="name" keyUp="filterItems(filterTag.searchText)" /> while for the normal TextInput component it works: <mx:TextInput id="filterTag" width="100%" keyUp="filterItems(filterTag.text)" /> 1) I've tried keyUp="Alert.show(filterTag.searchText)" and I can read the text 2) I've tried filterItems(filterTag.text.toString())... still not working 3) the filterItems function works, because it works with a normal TextInput thanks

  • How to get adobe air air.navigateToURL(urlReq) to bring default bowser to focus

    I'm working with adobe air and I have this code.. var urlReq = new air.URLRequest('http://google.com'); air.navigateToURL(urlReq); It's working correctly in that it is loading the page in the browser, but the issue is that adobe air is staying in the front and the browser is not being brought to the front... Perhaps it's because I'm working in runtime and not a complied app? (just off to try that now)

  • Adobe Reader process fails when starting second instance

    In our C# WinForms application, we generate PDF files and launch Adobe Reader (or whatever the default system .pdf handler is) via the Process class. Since our PDF files can be large (approx 200K), we handle the Exited event to then clean up the temp file afterwards. The system works as required when a file is opened and then closed again. However, when a second file is opened (before closing Adobe Reader) the second process immediately exits (since Reader is now using it's MDI powers) and in our Exited handler our File.Delete call should fail because it's locked by the now joined Adobe process. However, in Reader we instead get: There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found. The unusual thing is that if I put a debugger breakpoint before the file deletion and allow it to attempt (and fail) the deletion, then the system behaves as expected! I'm positive that the file exists and fairly positive that all handles/file streams to the file are closed before starting the process. We are launching with the following code: // Open the file for viewing/printing (if the default program supports it) var pdfProcess = new Process(); pdfProcess.StartInfo.FileName = tempFileName; if (pdfProcess.StartInfo.Verbs.Contains("open", StringComparer.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase)) { var verb = pdfProcess.StartInfo.Verbs.First(v => v.Equals("open", StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase)); pdfProcess.StartInfo.Verb = verb; } pdfProcess.StartInfo.Arguments = "/N"; // Specifies a new window will be used!     What is the best practice to develop a visual component in Flex Hero? I do it like this: I consider a component has 2 "parts", the declarative part (the visual sub-components) which I define in the skin (just mxml) and the code part (event handlers...) which I define in an action script class. I load the skin in the ctor of the action script class. I also define skin parts, states, and I bind event handlers in the partAdded function. I am having an argument about this; that I should define the component purely in an .mxml, with listeners in the script tag, and maybe attach a skin (but the skin should be loose - maybe for reuse :-?) I come from .NET and maybe I am biased with the code behind pattern, and I am wondering from your experience and Adobe's intent, what is the best practice to usually implement a visual component?

  • "Error encountered while BER decoding" in Adobe Acrobat Pro X when applying timestamp

    I have a tedious problem with Acrobat Pro X 10.1.3.23: when I want to apply a timestamp to a document I always get that error. I have configured VeriSign TSA server http://timestamp.verisign.com/scripts/timstamp.dll and it returns that error. I have tried Comodo CA http://timestamp.comodoca.com/authenticode and Aruba https://servizi.arubapec.it/tsa/ngrequest.php but all three returned the same exact error. My PDFs are now signed without a certified timestamp and this is a problem for me. I'm obliged to sign documents and apply a certified timestamp at the same time. This seems to be a common error in Acrobat, but I found no solution to it. Can somebody help me?

  • Adobe distiller: Cambria not found, using Courier.

    Whenever I try to print to PDF from an MS Word 2007 document, I get this error: Cambria not found, using Courier. (Even though I believe I removed ALL occurrences of Cambria from the document) The pdf doesn't get produced actually, all I get is this error log file with that message. Edit: I found the source of the problem. It was an MS-Word equation that insists on using "Cambria Math" that the distiller was choking over. I can't seem to get equations to print to pdf though!

  • Adobe Master Collection CS3 wont run on my Windows 7 64bit

    I have a brand new HP p6230y. My first step after booting it up was to install Master Collection. It installs fine, but when I go to run each of the applications, and they all behave differently. I have re-installed twice already. Photoshop opens, but freezes. Acrobat tells me that I need to reinstall. Nothing else even opens (no freezing, no process in taskman). Any Ideas? HP p6230y RAM: 8gigs CPU: AMD Phenom2 x4 810 (2.6ghz) OS: Windows 7 Home Ultimate 64bit

  • Adding multiple gradients to object in Adobe Illustrator

    Hi, I have an object which is a path (a nose to be specific). Now I want both a linear gradient and a radial gradient to be added to the object. So these must be separate gradient objects I guess, and I can't find a way to add multiple separate gradients to a complete path so do I duplicate the object and then apply a new gradient to each object? And what would the layer transparency features look like? Would the 'normal' overlay of the layers work? I am afraid of multiple shadows creating double dark regions, but maybe that is as its supposed to be if you think in terms of classical art and draw shadows in terms of each light obstruction.

I've been into designing for a while now, and have learned Photoshop by myself, and currently having fairly good grip in Photoshop CS5. Now due to rising needs, I need to learn Illustrator. I'm aware with the basics of Vector graphics, but haven't worked in designing such. So, suggest me a good place where I can learn Illustrator CS5, from ground up. I headed to Youtube for first start, but I still need an appropriate place where I get to learn it from better tutor. Thanks.

  • Why do some PDFs lag in Adobe Acrobat?

    I have a handful of PDFs open. One of them in particular is extremely laggy, almost to the point of being unreadable. When I scroll through its pages, it's almost like an extreme version of v-sync being turned off. Very choppy. Overall system resources are plentiful, and all of the other PDFs cruise up and down with no stuttering or problems. I've tried closing and reopening the problem PDF to no avail. It's a small PDF, only 3MB in size, with no graphics (only programming code snippets). Surely, it must be some type of problem with the specific PDF (I'll try opening it in another PDF-viewing program, rather than Acrobat X). Possible corruption? Could there be some type of GPU/hardware-acceleration intervening going on? I've never heard of such with PDF-viewing.

    Im making a mobile phone Android application in Flash CS 5.5. I set the width/height of the stage to 480/800 px. When I hit CTRL+ENTER to test run the application I get a window that is 480/800 px. It cannot be resized. I want to change the size of that window WITHOUT changing the stage width/height. For example if I run the APK on a mobile phone with a 1000x1000 display the flash will scale automatically to fit the 480/800 stage to the 1000x1000 screen. So it should be possible to change the window size to 1000x1000 without having to change the stage width/height. But how?

    So I have a 70 page pdf document that I'm trying to condense to a small booklet. I tried creating a formula to manually to perform it but it got ugly fast. 35,36,34,37,17,54,16,55,33,38,32,39,15,56,14,57,31,40,30,41,13,58,12,59 29,42,28,43,11,60,10,61,27,44,26,45,9,62,8,63,25,46,24,47,7,64,6,65 23,48,22,49,5,66,4,67,21,50,20,51,3,68,2,69,19,52,18,53,1,70 Once I print the booklet I should be able to cut the sheets in half and set the bottom half behind the top and staple it for a simple book. Which means Page 1 should have pages 35,36,17,54,34,37,16,55 Page 2 should have pages 33,38,15,56,32,39,14,57 And several pages later Page 9 should have pages 19,52,1,70,18,53 But manually doing this is a headache and it seems like the booklet function should contain functionality that can perform this. I'm using a commercial Konica Minolta C452

  • HTTPService/ResultEvent with Flex 3.2 versus Flex >= 3.5

    Hey everybody, through a design decission or what-so-ever Adobe changed the content of the ResultEvent fired by a HTTPService Object. Take a look at following example: var httpService:HTTPService = myHTTPServices.getResults(); httpService.addEventListener(ResultEvent.RESULT,resultHandler); httpService.send(); /** * Handels the login process */ function resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void { // get http service var httpService = (event.target as HTTPService); // do something } It works like a charm with Flex 3.2. But when I try to compile it with Flex 3.5 or Flex 4.0 event.target as HTTPService is null. I figured out that event.target is now an instance of HTTPOperation. That is interesting because I can't find HTTPOperation in the langref. However, I think what Flash Builder's debugger means is mx.rpc.http.Operation. The debugger also shows that event.target has a private attribute httpService which is the instance I expected to get with event.target. But it's private, so event.target.httpService doesn't work. If I only want to remove the EventListener I can cast event.target as EventDispatcher. But I need to use methods from HTTPService. So: How can I get the HTTPService instance from the ResultEvent? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! J.
