• Where to intercept resolution of controller/view in ASP.Net MVC for customizations?

  I am trying to figure out where the appropriate place is to intercept the resolution of what view + controller is being called in ASP.Net MVC 2. I have a situation where I have a controller and a corresponding set of views. I also have the possibility of a customized version of both the controller and N of the views sitting in the project (or we may use something like Portable Views from the MvcContrib project). If the customized version of the controller or view(s) exists at run time, and the user satisfies certain criteria, I need to call the customized controller and use the appropriate customized view. At design/compile time we don't know what customizations may be in place. My first run at this was by using a custom controller factory that returns a custom controller if it exists. However, this controller is "wired up" to the standard view, and I cannot figure out how to return the customized view if it also exists. To complicate matters, there may be no customized controller but customized views, and visa-versa.

I have a site where I have a database for all accounts and whatnot, and another for storing actions that the user has done on the site. Each user has their own table but I want to combine the data of each user group ( all users that are "linked together" ) and order that data in the time the actions took place. • VB.net Need Text Box to Only Accept Numbers

  I'm fairly new to VB.net (self taught) and was just wondering if someone out there could help me out with some code. I'm not trying to do anything to invovled, just have a textbox that takes numeric value from 1 to 10. I don't want it to take a string or any number above 10. If some types a word or character an error message will appear, telling them to enter a valid number. This is what I have, obviously it's not great as I am having problems. • Given a few strings, how many strings can be lexicographically least by modifying the alphabet?

  Number of strings can be huge as in 30000. Given N strings, output which ones can be lexicographically least after modifying the english alphabet. e.g. acdbe...... for example if the strings were: omm moo mom ommnom "mom" is already lexicographically least with the original english alphabet. we can make the word "omm" least by switching "m" and "o" in the alphabet ("abcdefghijklonmpqrstuvwxyz"). the other ones you cant make lexicographically last, no matter what you do. any fast way to do this? I have no ways to approach this except try every single possible alphabet

• How do I keep subdomain.domain.com links from mapping to subdomain.domain.com/subdomain?

  I have a virtual directory created and a sub domain that points to that virtual directory. My links always route to subdomain.domain.com/subdomain/controller/action when they can leave off the subdomain link. Is there an easy way to stop that? Also, it's the same problem when I mapped anotherdomain.com to my virtual directory. It ends up linking to anotherdomain.com/virtualdir/controller/action. It just looks unprofessional to me to have all my links be myapp.com/myapp/action/controller.

  I have three models (Book,Snippet,User) and I'd like to create a scope for where(:approved = true) I'm doing this so I can use the merit gem to define ranking based on count of approved.   Hi, I am looking for ideas for how I can stop external scripts connecting with my site. I'm looking for the same kind of idea behind Google. As in if a certain amount of requests are made per a certain amount of time then block the IP address or something. I thought there maybe a htaccess solution if not, I will write a PHP one.   Hey, I can't connect to an exchange server using windows XP and outlook 2007, using the "connect anywhere over HTTP" process, it has been working until recently and the user reports no recent changes to his environment. The error is "Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action" It will prompt me for the username and password which I can enter, then it will give the errorm however this only happens when I delete the account and enter all details for the excahnge server again. The client computer that is unable to connect using outlook can connect to the HTTPS mail service and login send/receive fine. Nobody else has reported issues. making a test environment with a clean install of XP and outlook 2007 gives the same error, but using windows 7 and outlook 2007 connects perfectly fine everytime. I also removed all passwords using control keymgr.dll which didnt help. Any assistance or ideas would be appreciated, at this point nothing I've tried from technet or google works <_<

  The boring, necessary details: I'm on Snow Leopard running MySQL locally. I'm trying to install the Sphinx engine for MySQL like so: mysql> install plugin sphinx soname 'sphinx.so'; ERROR 1127 (HY000): Can't find symbol '_mysql_plugin_interface_version_' in library I've Googled everywhere and can't seem to find an actual solution to this problem. For example this issue on the Sphinx forums seems unresolved. Someone else also raised this issue with similar results. The first post linked to an O'Reilly article which says: There is a common problem that might occur at this point: ERROR 1127 (HY000): Can't find symbol '_mysql_plugin_interface_version_' in library If you see a message like this, it is likely that you forgot to include the -DMYSQL_DYNAMIC_PLUGIN option when compiling the plugin. Adding this option to the g++ compile line is required to create a dynamically loadable plug-in. But the article ends on that point; I have no idea what this means or how to resolve the issue.

  Hi. Using Centos 5.4, with Postfix. I can do a mail [email protected] subject: blah test . Cc: and the msg gets sent to gmail, but it resides in the spam folder, which is to be expected. My goal is to be able to generate email msgs, and to have them appear in the regular Inbox! As I understand Postfix/Gmail, it's possible to configure Postfix to send/relay mail via the authenticated/valid user using port 587, which would no longer have the mail be seen as spam. I've tried a number of parameters based on different sites/articles from the 'net, with no luck. Some of the articles, actually seem to conflict with other articles! I've also looked over the stacflow postings on this, but i'm still missing something... Also talked to a few people on IRC (Centos/Postfix) and still have questions.. So, i'm turning to Serverfault, once again! If there's someone who's managed to accomplish this, would you mind posting your main.cf, sasl-passwd, and any other conf files that you use to get this working! If I can review your config files, I can hopefully see where I've screwed up, and figure out how to correct the issue.   I'm looking to buy a laptop with the following specs for a developer. The goal will be to have a development machine supplementing the devs desktop. During work hours the dev will be on a beefy desktop. For working while on the go: trains, client sites, code camps, it would be nice to have a machine which can run Visual Studio 2008 without needing to remote desktop into their primary machine. What do you think is the lowest cost laptop meeting this need? Here are the specs I have in mind: SSD drive 64GB-doesn't need to be huge, most data is stored on servers. Will need to fit Windows 7, IIS, SQL Server, and Visual Studio 2010. RAM-3GB processor =Pentium Core 2 duo Screen size = 14 inches. OS doesn't matter. It will be paved with Windows 7 Ultimate optical drive omitted would be a plus. weight and battery life aren't so important because the machine will be plugged in almost all the time.

  I need to setup a mail server that has the following functionality: if a user sends an email to a specific address on this server, the server must first check if the email has a PDF attachment, do some processing to that PDF file and then reply to the user's initial mail with the new PDF file attached. My question is how would it be possible to achieve this functionality, and what software / mail server do you recommend? I'm thinking that it can be solved the following way: when the server receives a new email it executes an external Python script that checks the attachment, processes the PDF file and then sends it back in the user's mailbox. What mail server would be able to do this, and what configurations does it need?

  I have got two NICs configured on a VM - each is tied to a specific network, one is a DMZ, the other is an internal network. I want MySQL to listen on the internal network only and Apache on the DMZ listening for HTTP and HTTPS. But as soon as I add the second interface I run into trouble. I can hit HTTP on either interface, but can not hit 3306 on the internal network for MySQL. • httpd.conf configuration - for internal/external access
