    When we command "net use" on command prompt, the result has four columns. Status Local Remote Network OK Z: \\10.x.x.x\Public Microsoft Windows Network X: \\10.y.y.y\Public My Network Redirector The Microsoft Windows Network(SMB)'s Status has OK value, but we don't. It's just empty. We implemented NPEnumResource function in our Network Provider dll. But I don't know how can I set the value(OK). How can I do that? Thanks

  • IIS seems to be caching files on a system share?

    Switching over to windows 2008 and IIS 7.5 and it seems whenever I make a change to a css file on a system share it does not show through the browser for a few mins. It is shown through the browser using an ISAPI filter. I have turned off output caching in IIS and also turned off caching on the share itself. The browser is not caching either forcing a 200 and it is cached. Any ideas

    My backups are failing when I try to use a network share hosted by a Synology DS211 disk station. They work fine if I target a different network share (i.e. \server1\data\larry).     Hi, I apologize for the crudeness of my MSPaint drawing, but please view my diagram of what I'd like to accomplish: Proposed home network architecture Currently, all devices are connected to 1 wireless router. I would like to make my own subnet, with a box in-between my subnet and the shared wireless router, so that I can learn about IDS, traffic analysis, etc. I was also given a cisco PIX firewall to play around with, and it'd be an added bonus if I could incorporate that into my network. The reason for this proposed architecture is so that I can monitor all MY traffic, without seeing anything going on with my roommates' traffic. my MAIN Question is, is it possible to have my desktop connect to the wireless router with internet via wireless card AND share that connection via the ethernet card, hooked to wireless router 2? cable modem - wireless router - desktop pc connected wirelessly - wireless router 2 getting internet from wired connection to desktop pc - laptops connected wirelessly The PIX can be left out for now, but I'm wondering if it could eventually be incorporated?   • Use 2 wireless adapters to connect to 2 WIFI networks (local and internet) simultaneously?

    On my HP Compaq 6710b there's an internal WIFI network adapter. Attached to the same laptop there's also an external USB Alfa WIFI adapter. I live near campus and can pick it's WIFI signal. The problem is that when I am connected to the Internet Wifi using the internal adapter, and then connect to the home (non-internet) Wifi network's router, I lose the connection to the internet (it stays connected, but there's no actual connection). So how can I use the two adapters to connect to both networks successfully ? The router is Belkin N150 Enhanced Router Model F6D4230-4 V1 The external adapter is: ALFA AWUS 036NHR

  • How to forceably unmount stuck network share in Mac OS X?

    Not long ago my Xserve failed (power loss) while an iMac was working with files on a particular network share (called "Work Share"). This volume, "Work Share", is now stuck. It can't be seen in the GUI, you can only detect it using the Terminal. Even after power cycling over the course of several days, ls -a still shows that it's there, but I can't unmount it using any command - not even as root in single user mode. Every time I attempt to unmount that volume, I get the message that the resource is busy (which it can't possibly be since nothing is using it), and error code 4915. The issue is that when I mount the real "Work Share", it internally is renamed to "Work Share-1", which breaks all my links, and several files in the share. If I can't unmount the false "Work Share", then that computer would be unuseable without a reformat, I would imagine - and I don't want it to have to come to that. I've tried everything I can think of - it looks like sudo can't save me now. Any ideas on how to unmount this stuck volume?

    I've created a Fedora 15 liveCD that is customized for my application. On the first laptop I tried, it didn't have the driver for the Broadcom BCM43224 wireless network interface. This software will be used on a wide variety of laptops. Is there are reasonable way to add drivers for the all most common wireless and wired network interfaces available today? If it's not much trouble I'd also like to add support for the common 3G/4G USB dongles.

    I'm trying to find a utility that will allow me to generate a constant flow of random network traffic at a specified rate between 2 hosts. The utility needs to run on Windows and OSX. I've tried iperf but it seems to be more oriented toward short-term testing/statistics and it really taxes the CPU even at slower rates. I want something that will generate traffic for a few weeks at say 10Mbps while I use other tools to monitor the impact of that level of traffic on the network.
