I use jquery.hover to toggle a class when someone mouses over a link. On the iphone when someone taps the link, it toggles the class on, but it doesn't ever toggle the class off until they tap somewhere else.
Is there a way to hide a form from my users until they click a link and then the form drops down for the user to fill out, by using PHP or JQuery if so how? Is there a tutorial that will teach me how to do this?
I am looking for a good jquery pagination plugin to use in my aspx page....
I have the following parameters
StartPage,TotalRecords,NumberofPages... I would like my plugin to same as stackoverflow paging ....
I am trying to post data from my form to a jquery dialog that loads external content.
I am serializing the form data which works (appears in the url) but the dialog won't open:
$("#wavajax button").click(function() {
$.post({url: 'player/index.php', data: $("#wavajax").serialize(),
success: function (data) {
$("#recordingdialog").load("player/index.php", [], function(){
$("#recordingdialog").dialog("open");
}
});
return false;
});
What am I doing wrong, am I going about it the right way???
I'm looking for alternative JavaScript Libraries to learn as an alternative to jQuery, as I think it would be good to know more than one and so i can broaden what libraries I know.
I'd tried Mootools so far but am not sure what else is just as good.
Any ideas?
I am new to jQuery, but I would like to have a button that when clicked will add more textboxes to a page. I have three textboxes that contain data of the same type and if the user has more data of the same type to enter, I would like to pop up three more textboxes.
What would be the best way to go about that?
I have 6 columns in jquery grid..
Initially I need to hide the 6th column for user..
I did that made Visible= false for that perticular column
now I need to make disabled that column perminently that is i should not give access for the user to sort or do something else on the column only readable?
thanks
Im using the following function to hide a series of forms on a page:
$('.ask').toggle(function() {
$(this).text('-').next('.addtitle').slideDown('fast');
}, function() {
$(this).text('+').next('.addtitle').slideUp('fast');
});
There can be anything from 0 to 5 forms on the page all with the class .ask
What I want to be able to do is to select one form NOT to hide, so the jQuery needs to hide all put one of the forms on the page randomly.
How can I achieve this?
jQuery is great especially its plugin but I do not like to add a lot of script tags in my html. Is there something similar to dojo.require? So I can manage those plugins easier and cleaner.
Is there a case insensitive version of the :contains jQuery selector or should I do the work manually by looping over all elements and comparing their .text() to my string?
Hi all,
I am learning how to use JQuery to help check data availability.
To start with it, I wrote a few lines of codes using cakePHP.
I have written a function in a Controller for checking data input, and the URL is like this:
http://www.mywebsite.com/controllers/action/avariable
I was trying to pass the value in a Input TextBox field using the JQuery Ajax to the URL above,but I don't know why it is not working in passing a variable to the Controller's action. Could you help me out please?
<Script language="javascript">
//<!--
$(document).ready(function(){
$(document).change(function() {
var usr = $("#data\\[User\\]\\[name\\]").val();
if(usr.length >= 3){
$("#username").append('<span><img align="absmiddle" src="loader.gif" />Checking</span>');
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "http://www.mywebsite.com/controllers/action/",
data: usr,
success: function(msg){
if(msg == 'OK')
{
$("#username").append('<span><img align="absmiddle" src="accepted.png"/></span>');
}
else
{
$("#username").append('<span>'+msg+'</span>');
}
}
});
}
else
{
$("#username").append('<span>The username should have at least 3 characters.</span>');
}
});
});
//-->
</Script>
<form name="adduser" id="adduser" method="post" action="/controllers/action2">
<table border=0 width="100%">
<tr>
<td>Username</td>
<td>
<div id="username">
<input type=text name="data[User][name]" id="data[User][name]">
</div>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
<input type="submit" value="Send">
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</form>

Hi,
I need to target all links with a class of hslide and attach this to them. Any jquery guru's out there know how to do this?
onclick="return hs.expand(this, { slideshowGroup: 'groupC0', wrapperClassName: 'rounded-white', outlineType : 'rounded-white', dimmingOpacity: 0.8, align : 'center', transitions : ['expand', 'crossfade'], fadeInOut: true });"
Thanks,

Hi,
there are several list filters in jquery (quicksand, filterprojects, etc.), but I am looking to filter divs by class.
I want the same functionality of the above - you select a menu item attached to a class and the other items fade out.
Anyone seen anything like this anywhere?
I want to make an article rotator similar to http://www.vmagazine.com/
And I want to use jQuery.
I know there are carousels like jCarousel and jQuery Carousel.
There is also the Coda-Slider, but I don't fint it very elegant.
Can anyone suggest a good jQuery method / script for having an article carousel?
I don't want to use MooTools, Prototype etc. since I'm already using jQuery.
Any suggestions anyone?
Adding a validator to my form:
jQuery.validator.addMethod('whatever', function(val, el) {
// whatever goes here
}, 'A maximum of ' + $('#my_id_here').val() + ' categories can be selected.');
This doesn't fly. I always get undefined. Is this a good, simple way to do this?
Thanks

Say you have a string: "The ABC cow jumped over XYZ the moon" and you want to use jQuery to get the substring between the "ABC" and "XYZ", how would you do this? The substring should be "cow jumped over". Many thanks!
With jQuery, how can I display a flash message at the top of the page in an easy way? Is there something built-in, or a plugin, or is it easy enough to do it yourself?
What I mean is like after a successful ajax post I would like to just say "hey, it went good" in a non-obtrusive way.
In the code snippet below, from my jQuery setup, I need to check if the image file actually exists and if not, I'd like to substitute a default image. Currently if the file does not exist, I just get a broken image placeholder...
$('#myTheme').change
(
function()
{
var myImage = $('#myTheme :selected').text();
$('.selectedImage img').attr('src','../wp-content/themes/myTheme/styles/'+myImage+'/screenshot.jpg');
//if screenshot.jpg does not exist, use "../../default.jpg" instead
}
);
Hey ya'll I have these 3 images thumbnails here...
<div class="wpcart_gallery" style="text-align:center; padding-top:5px;">

What I am trying to do is come up with a jquery code that would remove the cboxElement from the first image and if I click on one of the images to remove cboxElement and place cboxElement to the other images...
I also have this big image and when you click on one of the thumbnails, the image is replaced by the thumbnail and thats really the thumbnail I want to exclude...Could I possible just say if one of the 3 images src = this one image = src remove the class from this thumbnail?
Which way would be better? I am very new at jquery :(
I hope this makes sense.
Here is the code for the big image...
<a class="preview_link cboxElement" style="text-decoration:none;" href="http://www.taranmarlowjewelry.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/DSC_0118.jpg" rel="Teardrop Druzy Amethyst Ring">
<img id="product_image_736" class="product_image colorbox-736" width="400" src="http://www.taranmarlowjewelry.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/DSC_0118.jpg" title="Teardrop Druzy Amethyst Ring" alt="Teardrop Druzy Amethyst Ring">
<br>
<div style="text-align:center; color:#F39B91;">Click To Enlarge</div>
</a>
Any help or a point in the right direction would be awesome!!
JQuery
Assume this works: $('table td').load('/my/url/ div p');
I would end up with <td><p>Some Text</p></td>
I want to end up with <td>Some Text</td>
How would I do that?
Hello,
I have created a drop down with JQuery that can be seen here by clicking the Preview button on top:
http://jsbin.com/ubire3/edit
It works fine except for one problem. When i hover over the main hover links (blue ones) quickly eg going horizontally quickly hovering each top menu, the some submenus don't close. How do i make it so that even if i hover fast over them all other submenus are closed?
Thanks.
