I need to use the logic contained in some java classes. I found JNI, but that project seems not updated recently.
Is there a way to use it in a Delphi native application? I use Delphi 2009.
Hi,
I am using JNI to call my C++ function from Java. One of the C++ function's arguments is jobject thiz (as far as I know, all JNI native functions have this argument). The function takes quite long to complete and I want to report progress back to the jobject thiz Java object, so that I can show the progress to the user. How can I call jobject's methods from C++?
Is it possible to compile C++ program into some intermediate stage (similar to bytecode in java) where the output is platform independent and than later compile/link at runtime to run in native (platform dependent) code?
If answer is no, why?
If I were writing a native app I would try the solution given here which says:
Try to implement the following method in text view's delegate:
- (BOOL)textViewShouldBeginEditing:(UITextView *)textView{
return NO;
}
Unfortunately I need to use phonegap, so I don't have a text view to manipulate. It would be great if I could permanently suppress the keyboard in this app. We've got some custom on screen keyboard that people are supposed to use instead. So, any idea how to disable the popup keyboard completely?
Did they use WebViews and HTML 5 to display content or is it all native iOS stuff? Just trying to dissect the functionality. How would you do this functionality in iOS?
Hi

Dear Everyone,
Is there a better shell than the native mongo shell?
When I press UP I am seeing
^[[A . Does the shell not support
last query?
Tabbing in the shell
does not autocomplete either.
Of course, if there's a shell with syntax
highlighting that would be great
Is there an alternative that has the following features? (Or at least has some of them).
Is it 1 Mb of stack per thread? Or is that just CLR threads?
I want to know the memory over head of native windows threads (c++) and CLR threads as view via Task Manager.
Thanks

I need to write a software, which launches DRM jobs in a customer environment and monitors those jobs status.
It should work with various customer environments and DRMs - like LSF, Sun Grid and others.
Can you recommend some 3rd party library, which hides DRM differences from me and has API like "launch job", "get list of jobs", "get job status" etc. ?
Both Java and native libraries are good for me.
I want to get the list of window titles of the currently running applications.
On windows I have EnumWndProc and GetWindowText.
On Linux I have XGetWindowProperty and XFetchName.
What is the Native Mac equivalent?
I looking for free ASP.NET based content management system (CMS) which has the following features:
Blogs (Admin, some super users can have their own blogs)
Forums (Admins can create forums. Some moderation features)
Admin Dashboard
Integration with LinkedIn, Orkut and Facebook (native or through freely available add-ons)
Support for moderated user registration (moderated by Admin)
Windows Sharepoint services 3.0 is an option. With some tweaking, it supports all the above and there are free third party web parts available.
NB: The CMS listed must be free, as in beer.
Hello,
I'm developing an iPhone application where SMS native application should open when the user clicks the button.
This is working fine and I am also able to copy the content to clipboard when the user clicks on the button.
But I want to provide a URL in the SMS content which I am copying so that the user click on the URL to open it in the browser.
Can anyone suggest me how to provide clickable URL in SMS content?
I am able to build the shared object successfully using the holy native compiler "xlc" on AIX.It does build the shared object library but does not install the shared object library.
Configure command is:
./configure --prefix=/PATH/to/install --exec-prefix=/PATH/to/install --enable-shared --enable-static=no --enable-module=so --build=powerpc-ibm-aix5.3.0.0 --host=powerpc-ibm-aix5.3.0.0 LDFLAGS="-G -shared"
Any help would be appreciated?
Accidentally I have created file "-" (just a minus) in a directory and commited it.
I have to delete it because its causing error on other machines:
svn: Can't convert string from 'UTF-8' to native encoding:
svn: ?\226?\128?\147
I can remove it from local directory using "rm -i *" or with python "os.remove('\xe2\x80\x93')" but those methods do not work with "svn rm".
How to delete such file from svn repository?
Hello, I'm a web services newbie and I've tried to learn it looking for tutorials in google... but I didn't found anything really helpfull...
Do you know any tutorial / web page / documentation for web services using PHP 5 native SOAP client? I need to implement a SOAP client for fetch/send data from a IIS server (for hotels reservations).
Is there some server that I can make tests with?
Thank you!
I wrote a wrapper DLL for some native c++ functions and compiled it in c++/CLI, then I added a reference to C# project, functions indicates there, but when I try compile project I get this error:
"Additional information: Could not load file or assembly 'lib, Version=1.0.3742.39593, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. "
What's the problem ?
Thanks.
Just wondering if it is possible to figure out who has read files from a Windows share (using .NET ideally but win32 native will do)?
What I'm try to do is create something like awstats for a windows share so I can see who is accessing what and which are the most popular files.
I'm not interested in changes - I just want to log access (with time) along with ip / hostname and what file.
I can't believe it, but this is really happening. I ran out of available quote symbols using jquery and javascript native functions together. Can somebody help? Maybe there is yet another symbol?
var t=setTimeout('$("#popupChange").html('<img src="http://servername/pdf/picture/genericThrobber.gif" />');',2000);
Is there any good reason why most rails developers use observe_field when they want trigger specific action when text input box is changed, rather then using onkeydown? I would expect, that in most of the cases using observe_field results much more code generated than just using native hook onkeydown.
Is it a good idea to combine C++ and C# or does it pose any immediate issues?
I have an application that needs some parts to be C++, and some parts to be C# (for increased efficiency). What would be the best way to achieve using a native C++ dll in C#?
phpFox should take care of user login management, add user and edit user. But would like to automatically create a corresponding Wordpress account when user signs up for phpFox. And when user logs into phpFox user is auto logged into Wordpress so user doesn't really even realize Wordpress login or user account exists.
What would be the best way to do this?
Apps will be on the same server so could make native calls or use curl.
I have a web application built using Aptana Studio 3, the web application is targeted towards different platforms that execute HTML5 applications as native applications therefore not browsers per-se and therefore needs to be build differently for each platform as it is not a standard website.
I need to be able to:
Specify html templates that can be included/excluded in different
builds for the same file
Package the website in a zip
Optionally override some modules (requirejs is used for modules) as they are device specific
Publish to an FTP server
Whilst I can do all of this manually it can be error prone.
Not interested in any source control OR shell integration.
This is basically to make regular gets on certain third party archives. I would really prefer not to deal with SVN in any way in my shell or visual studio.
Native / C# preferred (as i have those runtimes already installed).
Anyone a recommendation under those circumstances?
