• Creating a Skill Calculator for Runescape

  I am beginning C++. I have a long way to go and I am one to never stop learning. I want to create a project for myself that will allow me to learn as I go. It will also give me the motivation and possibly add to my portfolio when I graduate. The runescape skill calculator will ask for your current experience in the current skill of your choosing and your desired level. For Example: my woodcutting experience is 60 and I want to get to lvl 5 which is 120 exp. That means im 60 experience away. by cutting oak logs I get 5 experience per log. The calculator would tell me I need to cut 12 Oak logs. All these numbers are made up. So to my question. Where would I even begin? Hoping it would have buttons to press.

  hello, i need some help with haar transformation, i have to apply it on an image. My math is bad, my english not all that awesome and i find it hard to understand from articles on the internet. I found this page http://www.cs.ucf.edu/~mali/haar/haar.cpp where the haar transformation is applied on 2d matrix. I suppose if i give image pixels matrix in there, it should work? im confused about this stuff, could someone enlighten me a bit please? Thank you!

• Keeping historic of modification in a database.

  Hi, Im a j2ee developper & we are using hibernatne mapping with a postgres databasae. We have to keep track of any changes occurs in the databse , in others words alls previous & current value of any field should be saved & field can be various types (bytea, int, char...) With a simple table it is easy but we a graph of objets things are more difficult So we have , speaking in a UML point of view, a graph of objects to store in the database with every changes & the user. • Jquery: encasing div and anchor link binded to same event.

  im having trouble figuring out how to bind mouseout() to my entire nav bar including the links. when a user hovers over a link in #nav a sub menu is shown. all is well there. what i want to do is fadeOut that sub menu when the user hovers out of the entire #nav. my code for the mouseout: $('#nav').mouseout(function() { setTimeout(function() { //$('.sub-link').fadeOut(); }, 2000); }); when i hover over an anchor link which resides in #nav, i see the sub-menu. then i guess the mouseout() even fires and the sub-menu fades out. is there anyway to have the #nav and any anchor links within it to act as one? i'd paste my markup but even indenting it 4 spaces still shows as rendered html.. TIA

• DotNetOpenAuth I need some help please

  I know this has been posted before, but never really answered, I'm using the DotNetOpenAuth to try and do GoogleID login, and every time I do details = OResponse.GetExtension<ClaimsResponse>(); I always, always, always get back null, I don't get whats the point of the GoogleID if I can't get back any information, I would think at the very least I would get an email address, so I could associate it other login information in my databse. I just don't understand could really use some help, Im probably just looking at openID in the wrong way. I'm using ASP.NET and looking to use openID/Facebook as my sole means of logging in users, I really don't want to mess with membership roles, or extra junk that ASP.NET likes to add.

• Exposing console apps to the web with Ruby

  I'm looking to expose an interactive command line program via JSON or another RPC style service using Ruby. I've found a couple tricks to do this, but im missing something when redirecting the output and input. One method at least on linux is to redirect the stdin and stdout to a file then read and write to that file asynchronously with file reads and writes. Another method ive been trying after googling around was to use open4. • Communicate between service and winform

  I could do with a bit of help with a windows service im writing in c#. The service basically just runs various tasks on a schedule. It has 3 main sections: a class which contains everything for the task (config, code to be executed when it runs, etc), the service which contains instances of the tasks, running them on a timer and a windows form which is used to configure the settings for the task. The question I have is would it be possible to reference the service from the Winform whilst the service is running? Ultimately I want to be able to open the Winform and see a live status of what the service is currently doing. I've considered writing something network related to get around it but it didn't seem correct considering that both processes would be on the same machine.

I want the selected value in a combobox to be bound to this property. I thought I could do this but Im getting errors: <ComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding Source={StaticResource model.Foo}}" /> Heres the error: Cannot find resource named '{model.Foo}'. Where did I go wrong? What extra parameters do I need to specify to properly bind to a subproperty?

I want to use exchange server account for each user. I just dont want to add users to database, because they already have userid and password in exchange server.   Hi, Im wondering if it is possible to get data from property which is map cotaining pairs Key-StringArray (Map) in BeanUtils library. I just simply need to access one of array elements by calling propertyName=string[0]. Current version (1.8.3) does not support indexed properties. If you look into their code you will find in class PropertyUtilsBean in method getPropertyOfMapBean: if (resolver.isIndexed(propertyName) || resolver.isMapped(propertyName)) { throw new IllegalArgumentException( "Indexed or mapped properties are not supported on" + " objects of type Map: " + propertyName); } way too bad:-( Have any of you any tip how to do it somehow differently?

  Hello everyone, What I'm looking to do is to sorta a Java List or Map in the order the items are in a XML File. For Example I have a list of function names as so: functionOne functionThree functionTwo The XML File looks like this: <xml> <function>functionOne</function> <function>functionTwo</function> <function>functionThree</function> </xml> So I would like to sort the list so the function names are as so: functionOne functionTwo functionThree Now Im trying to do this for Variables as well, so there are around 500+ unique 'items'. Does anyone have any idea how I can go about doing this? Now for the file that determines that sort order doesn't have to be XML it just what I use the most, it can be anything that can get the job done. Thanks in advance for your time.

• Get the checked value of 2 sets of radiobuttons using jQuery

  Im having a weird issue here. Its probably just something stupid but I dont see it. I have two sets of radiobuttons, group1 and group2, and I want to get their values in a function. I have 1 clickevent on all radiobuttons in that div and when I click them I want to display the check-values of both groups. But he only reads the value of the first group. and so it always displays 1-1 2-2 3-3 4-4 instead of possibly 1-2 3-1 etc.... There is a jsfiddle here what am I missing??

• .NET Micro Edition - Open Multiple Windows

  I've had a look through quite a few tutorials, but cant seem to find how to open multipe windows? I'm not expecting to have them layer etc, I just want to define multiple window classes and say, from a menu, launch the appropriate window class from the menu window. Then when that window is finished, call the close method on it and menu will show again. I have managed to do the same kind of functionality using panels, but think window is really what I should be using? (.NET MF 4.0) I assume you can do this? I think im missing something obvious?

I'm totally OK with writing a screen scraper for pretty much anything but i've encountered a major problem. Im using get_file_contentsto gather the html of the product page. The problem is: You need to be logged in, to view the product page. Its a standard magento login, so how can I get round this in my screen scraper?   So i am working on a project and need some advice. I have a MySQL database that stores events, i know how to code this functionality in PHP but im just stuck of a few specifics. As the project that I am creating is a timetable, the most important attributes are the day of the event, starting time and finishing time. Once i have read this data from the MYSQL database using my PHP script, how do i go about inserting these events in to a html timetable? Lets say i have record like below in my events table: Event ID = 01 Event Day = Monday Event Start = 12:00 Event End = 14:00 How would I then put that into a html table, bearing in mind that i may have mutiple events for a day?

• Slide through view controllers but not with the UISwipeGestureRecognizer

  Here is my issue, i got 5 view controllers and i can switch between them trough swipe with the UISwipeGestureRecognizer class and xcode's storyboard. So this works, but, i dont like the slide effect. I like to make it in a way so you can exactly slide the view to another by dragging it. I searched on the internet but i cant find any functions or tutorial on how to do this. Thanks in advance! Edit: Im not looking the scroll view. • PHP speed optimisation.

  Hi, Im wondering about speed optimization in PHP. I have a series of files that are requested every page load. On average there are 20 files. Each file must be read an parsed if they have changed. And this is excluding that standard files required for a web page (HTML, CSS, images, etc). EG - client requests page - server outputs html, css, images - server outputs dynamic content (20+/- files combined and minified). What would be the best way to serve these files as fast as possible?
