  • Pyparsing CSV string with random quotes

    Hey, I have a string like the following: <118date=2010-05-09,time=16:41:27,device_id=FE-2KA3F09000049,log_id=0400147717,log_part=00,type=statistics,subtype=n/a,pri=information,session_id=o49CedRc021772,from="[email protected]",mailer="mta",client_name="example.org,[194.177.17.24]",resolved=OK,to="[email protected]",direction="in",message_length=6832079,virus="",disposition="Accept",classifier="Not,Spam",subject="=?windows-1255?B?Rlc6IEZ3OiDg5fDp5fog+fno5fog7Pf46eHp7S3u4+Tp7SE=?=" I tried using CSV module and it didn't fit, cause i haven't found a way to ignore what's quoted. Pyparsing looked like a better answer but i haven't found a way to declare all the grammars. Currently, i am using my old Perl script to parse it, but i want this written in Python. if you need my Perl snippet i will be glad to provide it. Any help is appreciated.

    I'm tumbled with a problem! I've set up my first check constraint using MySQL, but unfortunately I'm having a problem. When inserting a row that should fail the test, the row is inserted anyway. The structure: CREATE TABLE user ( id INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, uname VARCHAR(10) NOT NULL, fname VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, lname VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, mail VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id), CHECK (LENGTH(fname) > 30) ); The insert statement: INSERT INTO user VALUES (null, 'user', 'Fname', 'Lname', '[email protected]'); The length of the string in the fname column should be too short, but it's inserted anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something basic here.

  • Find a name in a list if the name is spelt wrong

    I've got a list of names which some code checks against to see if the person exists, and if so do some stuff.. My issue is that I want to handle the case of the name being entered incorrectly.. I.e. I have a list of names Bob Frank Tom Tim John If I type in Joohn, I want it to ask me if I meant John. If I type Tm, I get asked if I meant Tim, if I say no, it asks if i meant Tom.. Etc.. Has anyone done something like this before?

  • Using ASP.NET Redirect without string URL?

    For instance, what I have right now is the following: Page.Response.Redirect("Default.aspx", false); Needing to hardcode the string just seems odd to me. The Default.aspx page is already in my project. So is there a way to do the redirect something like the following: Page.Response.Redirect(Default.aspx, false); Where Default.aspx is just the web form. I'd think that this way it would be obvious if there was a problem such as you deleted the web form but didn't update the redirects. Is this possible? Or is there another way entirely I should be looking at this? I suppose I could do something with a static property on the class, but I am wondering if there is a built in thing for this?

    I am developing a firefox extension and ideally would be able to get the whole darn DOM as a string.. forget any data structure. I just want what I see in "view source" in a buffer. I have been checking out javascript references and HTMLDocument etc. with no avail. Ideally I would be able to write to this buffer as well (seems possible i.e. document.writeLn()) I wish there was a document.read()? Am I just a js noob?

    I have some NSString varibales that incude items like Ð and Õ and if I do cell.textLabel.text = person.name; and if it contains one of those characters the cell.textlabel is blank! I have discovered that if I use NSString *col1 = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *)sqlite3_column_text(compiledStatement, 0)]; To pull my data back it pulls back null, however using the deprectared method NSString *col1 = [NSString stringWithCString:(char *)sqlite3_column_text(compiledStatement, 0)]; Shows the characters! Any ideas?

    I'm interested in a function of two word lists, which would return an order agnostic edit distance between them. That is, the arguments would be two lists of (let's say space delimited) words and return value would be the minimum sum of the edit (or Levenshtein) distances of the words in the lists. Distance between "cat rat bat" and "rat bat cat" would be 0. Distance between "cat rat bat" and "fat had bad" would be the same as distance between "rat bat cat" and "had fat bad", 4. In the case the number of words in the lists are not the same, the shorter list would be padded with 0-length words. My intuition (which hasn't been nurtured with computer science classes) does not find any other solution than to use brute force: |had|fat|bad| a solution ---+---+---+---+ +---+---+---+ cat| 2 | 1 | 2 | | | 1 | | ---+---+---+---+ +---+---+---+ rat| 2 | 1 | 2 | | 3 | | | ---+---+---+---+ +---+---+---+ bat| 2 | 1 | 1 | | | | 4 | ---+---+---+---+ +---+---+---+ Starting from the first row, pick a column and go to the next rows without ever revisiting a column you have already visited. Do this over and over again until you've tried all combinations. To me this sounds a bit like the traveling salesman problem. Is it, and how would you solve my particular problem?

    hello, Thanks as usual for your prompt and kind suggestions. i am currently developing a function that is meant to execute dynamically created SQL statements. this is done by concatenating the columns and fetching them via cursors. the problem is that when there is a function with a comma between its arguments, the concat concatenates the contents of the functions inclusive. Is it possible to skip contents of every bracket found in a string using REGEXP_SUBTR or REGEXP_REPLACE? Many thanks for the anticipated response.

I am not an expert web developer, but to me this string seems valid. 319:14:27:22: <font color="rgb(255,0,0)" bgcolor="rgb(255,0,0)">Message</font><br> What needs to change to get the colours to render. Currently it just renders as black text on a white background.

    Hi, I'm looking for a package (any language, really) that I can use on a corpus of 50 documents to perform interdocument similarity testing in various metrics, like tfidf, okapi, language models, lsa, etc. I want as a result a document similarity matrix, i.e. doc1 is x% similar to doc2, etc... I am building an iPhone app and stuck with the following: unsigned char hashedChars[32]; CC_SHA256([inputString UTF8String], [inputString lengthOfBytesUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding], hashedChars); NSData *hashedData = [NSData dataWithBytes:hashedChars length:32]; NSLog(@"hashedData = %@", hashedData); The log is showing like: hashedData = <abcdefgh abcdefgh abcdefgh abcdefgh abcdefgh abcdefgh abcdefgh abcdefgh> But what I need is to convert hashedData into NSString that looks like: NSString *someString = @"abcdefghabcdefghabcdefghabcdefghabcdefghabcdefghabcdefghabcdefgh"; So basically the string needs to be like hashedData except I don't want the angle brackets and spaces in between. Any help is much appreciated.

    I have this pseudo-code in java: bytes[] hash = MD5.hash("example"); String hexString = toHexString(hash); //This returns something like a0394dbe93f bytes[] hexBytes = hexString.getBytes("UTF-8"); Now, hexBytes[] and hash[] are different. I know I'm doing something wrong since hash.length() is 16 and hexBytes.length() is 32. Maybe it has something to do with java using Unicode for chars (just a wild guess here). Anyways, the question would be: how to get the original hash[] array from the hexString.   • How do you print a limited number of characters?

    Sorry to put a post up about something so simple, but I don't see what I'm doing wrong here. char data[1024]; DWORD numRead; ReadFile(handle, data, 1024, &numRead, NULL); if (numRead > 0) printf(data, "%.5s"); My intention with the above is to read data from a file, and then only print out 5 characters. However, it prints out all 1024 characters, which is contrary to what I'm reading here. The goal, of course, is to do something like: printf(data, "%.*s", numRead); What am I doing wrong here?

But with the databinding expressions evaluated. I'd rather not build a full parsing, templating and evaluation engine...
