  Hi, I want to display html template in a webpage. The styles of that template is specified inline. But when i try to display it in my webpage, some styles that are defined in my css are adding into it and the template is not displayed properly. This template is used to create mails and when i send this template as mail to my gmail account it is displayed correctly. How its done in gmail? How they show the template using inline styles only?

• Diamonds with question marks

  Hi, I'm getting these little diamonds with question marks in them in my HTML attributes when I present data from my database. I'm using EPiServer and a few custom properties. This is the information I've gathered, I save my data as a XML document, since I use custom EPiServer properties which need more than one defined value. This is saved as UTF8. It's only attributes in element tags which have this problem, such as align=left becomes align=?left?. There is no " character there, but I get the diamonds anyway. If I use " outside an element, it works and shows correctly. Any clues?

• How to configure a has_many association with non-ActiveRecord model

  My Rails app has a normal ActiveRecord "Account" model stored in the database. The model will store the URL to a remote XML file which defines some other objects. For example, the Account has_many :galleries but the Gallery model is simply defined by nodes in the XML document. So how do I get /accounts/1/galleries to show the galleries from that account's XML? How do I setup this relationship? I know how to do basic non-AR models, but I'm not sure how to define the association or if I need to create a Gallery model at all.

  Hello, I'm writing an application for android and I would like to insert an options menu, that would have only one function and that is to quit an application. Is there a simple way to return the S_OK / S_FALSE values without changing the method definition? The only way I can see is that I have to use ildasm / ilasm to add preservesig so I end up with something like this : public int GetNextFunction(ref int nID, ref int lPos, ref string bstrName) I was wondering if there was some other way without doing the il compilation step.

• How to define a static array without a contant size in a constructor of a class? (C++)

  I have a class defined as: class Obj { public: int width, height; Obj(int w, int h); } and I need it to contain a static array like so: int presc[width][height]; however, I cannot define within the class, so it it possible to create a pointer to a 2D array (and, out of curiosity, 3, 4, and 5D arrays), have that as a member of the class, and intitalize it in the constructor like: int ar[5][6]; Obj o(5, 6, &ar); If that isn't possible, is there any way to get a static array without a contant size in a class, or am I going to have to use a dynamic array? (Something I don't want to do because I don't plan on ever changing the size of the array after it's created.)

  Hello Friends, I have written a custom validation code in JQUERY. which is working fine. I have a login form which have two fields i.e. userid and password. I have written a custom JQUERY code for client side validation for these fields. This custom JQUERY code is working fine and gives me proper error messages as per the situation. But the problem with this code is that when I enter the invalid data in any or both field and press submit button of form then it displays the proper error message but at the same time when I checked it in Firebug it displays following error message when submit button of the form is clicked validate is not defined function onclick(event) { javascript: return validate(); }(click clientX=473, clientY=273) So please tell me where is I am wrong in my Jquery code.   I am building an MVVM Panorama Windows Phone 7 application. At some point of Panorama Item's layout I get a bottom margin of a panorama header box, that moves my content too far down. Is there a way I can set a bottom margin of a ContentPresenter, that is generated to hold the controls, defined in the Panorama.HeaderTemplate? Here is my layout list in Silverlight Spy: In case the screen shot is not readable, here is a large version: http://bit.ly/rBvNp8 Something generates a 26 points bottom margin for a header box (probably the control's code, that handles a layout). How can I control this value? I need it to be set to 0.

  Hi, Hoping someone can give me some pointers with this entropy problem. Say X is chosen randomly from the uniform integer distribution 0-32 (inclusive). I calculate the entropy, H(X) = 32 bits, as each Xi has equal probability of occurring. Now, say the following pseudocode executes. int r = rand(0,1); // a random integer 0 or 1 r = r * 33 + X; How would I work out the mutual information between the two variables r and X? Mutual Information is defined as I(X; Y) = H(X) - H(X|Y) but I don't really understand how to apply the conditional entropy H(X|Y) to this problem. Thanks

  I'm making an iOS game using cocos2d libraries. Lets say you have two objects that have two separate colours - defined in RGB as Blue: 0,0,255 Yellow: 255,255,0 I want to add blue and yellow to make green. To over complicate things, let's say that the Blue object is bigger than the Yellow object (for the sake of argument let's say that the ratio is 2:1), I'm adding twice as much blue as yellow - how to I calculate this new (light green) colour correctly. I understand LAB * Color Space is useful for this sort of 'natural colour' kind of thing, but I'm not sure how to use it - especially in the context of a cocos2d object which (AFAIK) is limited to using RGB in its colour schemes. I'd really appreciate practical help on how to implement this. Thanks heaps!

• SubSonic isn't generating MySql foreign key tables

  I two tables within a MySql 5.1.34 database. When using SubSonic to generate the DAL, the foreign-key relationship doesn't get scripted, ie; I have no Parent.ChildCollection object. Looking inside the generated DAL Parent class shows the following; //no foreign key tables defined (0) I have tried SubSonic 2.1 and 2.2, and various MySql 5 versions. I must be doing something wrong procedurally - any help would be greatly appreciated. This has always just worked 'out-the-box' when using MS-SQL. • C++ vtable resolving with virtual inheritance

  I was curious about C++ and virtual inheritance - in particular, the way that vtable conflicts are resolved between bass and child classes. I won't pretend to understand the specifics on how they work, but what I've gleamed so far is that their is a small delay caused by using virtual functions due to that resolution. My question then is if the base class is blank - ie, its virtual functions are defined as: virtual void doStuff() = 0; Does this mean that the resolution is not necessary, because there's only one set of functions to pick from? Forgive me if this is an stupid question - as I said, I don't understand how vtables work so I don't really know any better.

  I have a simple but confusing question here. Is it legal to have a different return value type for overridden methods than the abstact ones defined in the base class?? I did that and the compiler didn't complain... could someone please explain? class MyBaseClass { int value; public: virtual int getValue() = 0; }; class MyClass : public MyBaseClass { double value; public: virtual double getValue(); // here!!! return is double, not int }; double MyClass::getValue() { return this->value; } The compiler totally accepted something similar (MSVC und MinGW)... could anyone please exaplain to what extent this is legal?

• pull down notification panel in iOS help for iPad

  I have developed an iPad application. In which I am using left/right swipes from corner of screen. The problem is when device is in landscape mode, (though the application is always in portrait orientation) and user wants to swipe left, it opens the notification panel instead of going to swipeAction that I had defined. Note that it works fine when device is kept in portrait mode. Is there any way to make pull down notification panel application orientation specific ? Any kind of help will be appreciated.

  I am currently developing a Ruby on rails 3 application. My server controller function render a json object as response: class DaysController < BaseController ... def the_days ... render :json => days end end In my javascript,I use the following code to get json response from server( that's from the_day function in controller) $.getJSON( url, {emp_id: emp_id}, function(data) { var result = data.response; alert(result) alert(data) }, "json" ); I use firefox browswer and checked with Firebug, in Firebug Net-XHR, I see the Get request is successful, and the response "days" is there. That's both request and response are successful. But I did not see the two alert window defined in the above $.getJSON function, why? Why I can not get the response "days" in $.getJSON function??

• How to center drawableTop and text vertically on the Button in Android?

  I have the Button defined as follows: <Button android:drawableTop="@drawable/ico" android:gravity="center" android:id="@+id/StartButton2x2" android:text="@string/Widget2x2StartBtnLabel" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_weight="1" android:background="@drawable/widgetbtn_bg" /> The problem is that 'drawableTop' image is aligned to the top border of the Button view. I would like to center it (together with text label) vertically on the button. 'android:gravity' seems to work only on text label. It does not affect 'drawableTop' positioning. I was able to center it vertically using 'android:paddingTop' - but that does not seem to be a good idea. I guess it would not work properly on different screen resolution/size.

• CGAL replacement for iOS

  I have a set of nodes that define streets. Each node has latitude and longitude. Also I have user location with latitude and longitude. My intention is to build Voronoi diagram for segments defined by each pair of nodes, and then find which node user location is closest to. Looks like this task can be accomplished with CGAL library. While I'm in the process of compiling it for iOS environment, probably you guys will be able to give links to libs that are already compiled against iOS, or were intended to be used in Objective C environment from the very beginning... Because I'm afraid that even if CGAL compiles for me, I might get into trouble when using it. Thanks!

• Problem with notification bar in fullscreen app

Please see the screenshots linked above. I'm currently on 2.2 with NexusOne, but same thing happened on 2.1update1 (esp. case 2) as well before.

• A better way to do XML in Java

  There are a lot of questions that ask the best XML parser, I am more interested in what is the XML parser that is the most like Groovy for Java? I want: SomeApiDefinedObject o = parseXml( xml ); for( SomeApiDefinedObject it : o.getChildren() ) { System.out.println( it.getAttributes() ); } The most important things are that I don't want to create an object for every type of filed, I'd rather just deal with them all as strings, and that building the XML doesn't require any converters or anything, just a simple object that is already defined If you have used the Groovy XML parser, you will know what I'm talking about Alternatively, would it be better for me to just use Groovy from Java?
