  • How can this PHP/FQL code be modified to increase the performance and usability?

    - by Kaoukkos
    I try to get some insights from the pages I am administrator on Facebook. What my code does, it gets the IDs of the pages I want to work with through mySQL. I did not include that part though.After this, I get the page_id, name and fan_count of each of those facebook IDs and are saved in fancounts[]. Using the IDs ( pages[] ) I get two messages max from each page. There may be no messages, there may be 1 or 2 messages max. Possibly I will increase it later. messages[] holds the messages of each page. I have two problems with it. It has a very slow performance I can't find a way to echo the data like this: ID - Name of the page - Fan Count Here goes the first message Here goes the second one //here is a break ID - Name of the page 2 - Fan Count Here goes the first message of page 2 Here goes the second one of page 2 My questions are, how can the code be modified to increase performance and show the data as above? I read about fql.multiquery. Can it be used here? Please provide me with code examples. Thank you $pages = array(); // I get the IDs I want to work with $pagesIds = implode(',', $pages); // fancounts[] holds the page_id, name and fan_count of the Ids I work with $fancounts = array(); $pagesFanCounts = $facebook->api("/fql", array( "q" => "SELECT page_id, name, fan_count FROM page WHERE page_id IN ({$pagesIds})" )); foreach ($pagesFanCounts['data'] as $page){ $fancounts[] = $page['page_id']."-".$page['name']."-".$page['fan_count']; } //messages[] holds from 0 to 2 messages from each of the above pages $messages = array(); foreach( $pages as $id) { $getMessages = $facebook->api("/fql", array( "q" => "SELECT message FROM stream WHERE source_id = '$id' LIMIT 2" )); $messages[] = $getMessages['data']; } // this is how I print them now but it does not give me the best output. ( thanks goes to Mark for providing me this code ) $count = min(count($fancounts),count($messages)); for($i=0; $i<$count; ++$i) { echo $fancounts[$i],'<br>'; foreach($messages[$i] as $msg) { echo $msg['message'],'<br>'; } }

  • Is it possible to filter data used by pivot table based on filtering the rows in a source table in Excel?

    - by Geoffrey Stoel
    I have developed a dashboard in Excel 2007 that uses one source table in a sheet (being filled with a query on our data warehouse) and multiple pivot tables making different cross sections on this data. I use the GETPIVOTDATA in almost a hundred formulas to give me the right value for a specific indicator in my dashboard. This all works fine. However I now have received the question to make the dashboard for 5 different segments. As you can imagine I don't want to create 5 different workbooks for this and need to maintain the dashboard logic on all of them. So my question is the following. Is it possible to automatically (through VBA or any other means) filter the results in my source table which is the source for my pivot tables and thus for my dashboard values. So schematically: DATABASE_VIEW -- SOURCE_TABLE -- 12 pivot tables -- 100 GETPIVOTDATA functions Preferably I would like to load all the segments in the source_table (one view on my database) and then filter the data in the source table, which results in filterd source_dat for my pivots. This way I can (without requerying the db) quickly change between segments in the dashboards (refreshing pivots only). Data in the source table has the column: CUSTOMER_SEGMENT available to filter upon. Any help is appreciated. Geoffrey

I have checked dash.php and found below method private function __example__() but can't understand what the developer is saying in comment. class Dash { private function __example__() { /* * This function is purely to show an example of a dashboard method to place * within your own controller. */ // load third_party hArpanet dashboard library $this->load->add_package_path(APPPATH.'third_party/hArpanet/hDash/'); $dash =& $this->load->library('dash'); $this->load->remove_package_path(APPPATH.'third_party/hArpanet/hDash/'); // configure dashboard widgets - format: type, src, title, cols, alt (for images) $dash->widgets = array( array('type'=>'oop', 'src'=>'test_dash', 'title'=>'Test OOP Widget', 'cols'=>3), // if 'title' is set to FALSE, the title block is omitted entirely // note: this is an 'html' widget but is being fed content from a local method array('type'=>'html', 'src'=>self::test_method(), 'title'=>false, 'cols'=>3), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_inv.htm', 'title'=>'Safety Investigation'), // multi-content widget - set widget title in outer array (also note use of CI anchor to create a link) array('title'=>anchor('tz', 'TARGET ZERO'), // sub-content follows same array format as single content widget // 'img' content can also have an 'alt' text array('type'=>'img', 'src'=>'saf_tzout.gif', 'alt'=>'Action Completed'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_tz.htm'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'ave_close.htm', 'title'=>'Average Time to Close') ), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_meet.htm', 'title'=>'Safety Meeting'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_acc.htm', 'title'=>'Accident Investigation'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_hazmat.htm', 'title'=>anchor('hazmat', 'HAZMAT')), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_cont.htm', 'title'=>'Loss of Containment'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_worksinfo.htm', 'title'=>'Works Information'), // an action widget - 'clear' will generate a blank widget with a style of clear:both array('type'=>'clear'), // multi-content widget - width can be set using the 'cols' param in outer array array('title'=>'RAG Report', 'cols' => 2, array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_rag.htm'), array('type'=>'img', 'src'=>'ProcSaf.gif')), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_chrom.htm', 'title'=>'Chrome checks'), ); // populate the view variable $widgets = $dash->build('safety'); // render the dashboard $this->load->view('layout_default', $widgets); } ................... } // end of Dash class Installation path is root/application/third_party/hArpanet/hDash/libraries/dash.php How can I load this class to my system and use widgets?

  • ANDROID IF/ELSE FAILS CONTINUES TO EXECUTE JSON

    - by Keith Cesar Haizlett
    I am trying to create a Registration app with JSON to connect and post to MYSQL database. I created the following IF/ELSE statements to check for vacant input boxes, password match, and correct email characters before allowing it to be entered into the DATABASE. The code continues to execute the JSON posting even after the passwords don't match , invalid email characters are entered , and vacant text boxes are submitted. Why is it not returning and continuing to execute the JSON code? try { if (!inputEmail.getText().toString().matches("[a-zA-Z0-9._-]+@[a-z]+.[a-z]+") && email.length() > 0) { Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "Enter Valid Email Address", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); return; } else if(name.equals("") || email.equals("")|| password.equals("")||check.equals("")) { Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "Field Vaccant", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); return; } // check if both password matches else if(!password.equals(checkpass)) { Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "Password does not match", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); return; } if (json.getString(KEY_SUCCESS) != null) { registerErrorMsg.setText(""); String res = json.getString(KEY_SUCCESS); if(Integer.parseInt(res) == 1){ // user successfully registred // Store user details in SQLite Database DatabaseHandler db = new DatabaseHandler(getApplicationContext()); JSONObject json_user = json.getJSONObject("user"); // Clear all previous data in database userFunction.logoutUser(getApplicationContext()); db.addUser(json_user.getString(KEY_NAME), json_user.getString(KEY_EMAIL), json.getString(KEY_UID), json_user.getString(KEY_CREATED_AT)); // Launch Dashboard Screen Intent dashboard = new Intent(getApplicationContext(), DashboardActivity.class); // Close all views before launching Dashboard dashboard.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP); startActivity(dashboard); // Close Registration Screen finish(); }else{ // Error in registration registerErrorMsg.setText("User already Registered"); } } } catch (JSONException e) { } } });

  • What is the performance of "Merge" clause in sql server 2008?

    - by ziang
    Hi, Merge can performs insert, update, or delete operations on a target table based on the results of a join with a source table. For example, you can synchronize two tables by inserting, updating, or deleting rows in one table based on differences found in the other table. Is anyone familiar with the performance to use "Merge" versus the traditional logic to check existence and decide the update or insert then? Thanks!
