  • Facebook API call with email to return UID

    I'm trying to do a simple API call with facebook, with a user-given email to return their uid. Do I really need to auth them before this call is made? Thanks! :) I'm not doing anything else with the UID besides displaying to the user, which is why I don't really think it's worth authenticating them.

    As a long-time Visual SourceSafe user (& hater) I was discussing switching to SVN with a colleague; he suggested using Git instead, since apparently it can be used peer-to-peer without a central server (we just have a 3-developer team). I haven't been able to find anything about tools that integrate Git with Visual Studio, though - does such a thing exist? If not, can anyone report on their experiences using Git with Visual Studio?

    My program uses sockets, what Parallel computing APIs could I use that would help me without obligating me to go from sockets to anything else? When we are on a cluster with a special, non-socket infrastructure system this API would emulate something like sockets but using that infrastructure (so programs perform much faster than on sockets, but still use the sockets API).

  • Is fckeditor free for use in freelance projects?

    This is more of a licencing issue than a code question. I really like the ckeditor editor and would like to use it in my freelance projects which I do for clients. However upon reading the license page it has me in a bit of a confusion. DO I have to buy licences if I intend to use this in cms websites that I build myself and hand over to clients?   • CSS3 webkit fading in a tooltip.

    HI, I've just been experimenting with a CSS tooltip that fades in with CSS3's transitions. I've got it working up to a point, but for some reason, when I hover over where it's meant to be, it activates, even though it's positioned left:-999px;. So basically, what am I doing wrong/is what I was going for possible? (Note I don't want to do anything with JS/JQuery, was just curious to see if I could do it in CSS) You can see and play with it here.

    I'm looking for a way to remove lines within multiple csv files, in bash using sed, awk or anything appropriate where the file ends in 0. So there are multiple csv files, their format is: EXAMPLEfoo,60,6 EXAMPLEbar,30,10 EXAMPLElong,60,0 EXAMPLEcon,120,6 EXAMPLEdev,60,0 EXAMPLErandom,30,6 So the file will be amended to: EXAMPLEfoo,60,6 EXAMPLEbar,30,10 EXAMPLEcon,120,6 EXAMPLErandom,30,6 A problem which I can see arising is distinguishing between double digits that end in zero and 0 itself. So any ideas?

    Has anyone seen any image deskew algorithms in c#? I have found: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/graphics/Deskew_an_Image.aspx but unfortunately, it doesn't do very much for images without text. I am specifically trying to auto deskew an image of a book with solid edges, but minimal text. Has anyone seen anything that may be able to do this?

  • How do I change the URL for the wordpress author archive page?

    Instead of www.example.com/author/xyz, I want to use www.example.com/artist/xyz. I was hoping it was as easy as copying author.php to artist.php in my theme directory, but no such luck. Where does wordpress handle the special processing for the author archive pages? .htaccess rewriting is another option, but I wasn't able to get anything to work with the existing wordpress rewrite rules.   • Resize UITableViewCell to show image at maximum size

    I want to show some images and text in a UITableView. But when I add the image to its UITableViewCell it breaks the layout and overlaps with the next Header. How can I set the size of the cell containing the image, so that the layout doesn't get broken? I found some ObjC-Code which suggest this can be done by using heightForRowAtIndexPath, but I couldn't find anything MonoTouch specific.

  • Installing ssl certificates in GlassFish v3

    I have just installed a new ssl certificate on GlassFish 3. I also changed all references to s1as to a new certificate alias in config/domain.xml. Everything seems to work fine, but I wonder if I have to change all "s1as" entries in config/sun-acc.xml, wss-server-config-1.0.xml,wss-server-config-2.0.xml as well ? Do settings in these files affect anything ? Thanks in advance.

    I try to download a file from https site and every time the file is saved to my machine it is only 1KB. The file is supposed to be 1MB.
