  • Style all anchors except those that contain images, without adding class or id to the image tag?

    - by Deca
With the example below, I need to add padding and background-color properties to the text anchor. I then need to exclude padding and background-color from anchors that contain images. <p> <a href="#">this is a text link that needs to be styled</a> <a href="#"><img src="image/name.jpg" alt="this needs to be excluded from styling" /></a> </p> If I have a red background and padding on my text links, I do not want that same red background and padding to appear on my linked images. The images will always be in their own anchors, not mixed with text within the same anchor. The rub is that I can not add classes or IDs to the img tags - I do not have edit control of that data. So how can I add CSS attributes to all anchors, while excluding anchors that contain images?

  • jQuery is not defined

    - by dole
Hi there, I have to use an external js file, in which I load the jquery. My js file look like this: document.write('<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.4.min.js"></script>'); (function($) { $(document).ready(function() { alert('it works!!'); }); })(jQuery); On the firefox console I get the "jQuery is not defined" and I think it is because the jQuery library is loaded after the $ function from my js file. Do you have any idea about how can I fix this? If I run the script from the FF console all works fine.

  • Using svn remove - preserve file on disk instead of having it deleted?

    - by user246114
Hi, I am creating an eclipse project, which generates a lot of files I don't want to keep under version control. For example, it creates a project folder like: project/ bin/ horse.class cow.class src/ horse.java cow.java so what I do is add the project folder to svn, like: svn add project this puts everything under control, even the bin and .class files. All of those files will have the little 'a' next to them. How can I simply remove the 'add' status from those files? If I try: svn remove bin/horse.class I have to use the --force option and it deletes the file from disk. Is there a way to simply remove it from source but not delete the file from disk? Thanks

  • greasemonkey insert javascript

    - by Kaartz
I have a bookmarklet, clicking the bookmarklet includes a PHP script (evaluated as a JavaScript file) to the page few table values and select values passed as GET parameters. The PHP script writes the page data to the MySQL database, and outputs a success message that is treated as JavaScript code and executed by the browser. Is there any possibility to do this using greasemonkey and call this function when a existing button is clicked on the web page. I wrote the above bookmarklet inspired by this tutorial. http://tutorialzine.com/2010/04/simple-bookmarking-app-php-javascript-mysql/ This is the bookmarklet code: (function () { var jsScript = document.createElement('script'); jsScript.setAttribute('type', 'text/javascript'); jsScript.setAttribute('src', '/bookmark.php?url=' + encodeURIComponent(location.href) + '&title=' + encodeURIComponent(document.title)); document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(jsScript); })(); Please help me.

  • embedding a slideshow photo gallery with Picasa that autorepeats?

    - by user248237
how can I modify the embedded photo gallery slideshow from Google's Picasa to auto repeat the pictures, i.e. play them over and over again? This is the code Picasa gives me for embedding in a website: <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="400" height="267" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&hl=en_US&feat=flashalbum&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2F102341124641778821128%2Falbumid%2F5469290618448219537%3Falt%3Drss%26kind%3Dphoto%26hl%3Den_US" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> Related to this, are there free tools that take as input a Picasa username or a set of photos and automatically create a thumbnailed gallery, which is embeddable using Flash in any website? thanks.

  • Facebook like box not working on mobile browser

    - by Kelend
I'm writing a simple splash page for a client to hold a like box widget: <iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?id=***********&amp;width=238&amp;connections=4&amp;stream=false&amp;header=false&amp;height=200" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:238px; height:200px;" allowTransparency="true"></iframe> The page displays fine, with the like box, but when you click on the like it depresses without prompting the user to logon and does not update facebook. This behavior seems to be on mobile browsers only. On desktop browsers (ie8, firefox, safari) it works just fine. Anyone had this happen, and if so what was their solution?

  • Write Local File using Adobe Air Iframe

    - by user290687
This is driving me mad. I am creating an AIR application and everything is working great. However I would really like to have a form inside an Iframe that when the user clicks submit saves the file to local application storage directory. Right now I am able to do this and save the file with no problems when I just access the HTML page not inside an Iframe. However if I wrap the page in an iframe and hit submit the file does not save. Any code examples would be very much appreciated. When I am using the iframe my code looks as follows<iframe src="jobs/newjob.html" height="800px" width="800px" sandboxRoot="app:/" documentRoot="app:/sandbox"ondominitialize="setupBridge ()">

  • javax.servlet.ServletException: WriteText method cannot write null text

    - by Learner
I have created a Web application using JSF+Icefaces+Richfaces+Primefaces. It is working great while I run it from eclipse as a project but When I created its WAR file and deployed in GlassFish Server then while rendering a page it is throwing this exception javax.servlet.ServletException: WriteText method cannot write null text I searched but didn't get any good solution.A quick help is highly appreciated Edit:1 I think this would be the relevant part for this <li class="page_item" id="liMasterSearch"> <!-- this is for hide (<li class="page_item hide" id="liMasterSearch"> applied to every class) --> <h:commandLink value="Search" action="#{masterRenderBean.showSimpleSearch}"></h:commandLink> </li> <li class="page_item" id="liAdvanceSearch"> <h:commandLink value="Advance Search" action="#{masterRenderBean.showADVS}"></h:commandLink> </li> Here you can see two links (1) Search and (2) Advance Search when I click on Search , It shows search page (By rendering-Actually I have included all pages in masterpage and render them on commandlink functions) <h:panelGroup rendered="#{not masterRenderBean.simpleSearch}"> <ui:include src="../../WebPages/SearchPages/MasterSearch.xhtml"></ui:include> </h:panelGroup> But When I click on Advance Search link (on which this part should render) <h:panelGroup rendered="#{not masterRenderBean.advs}"> <ui:include src="../../WebPages/SearchPages/PersonalAdvanceSearch.xhtml"/> </h:panelGroup> The browser show the above exception. NOTE: Keep in mind that this problem is occurring in deploying. It is not coming in actual application when I run it from eclipse from code EDIT:2 I found in server logs that this exception is coming due to acefaces and this portion of code <ace:autoCompleteEntry id="txtplaceofbirth" rows="10" autocomplete="false" minChars="2" width="150" value="#{inputPersonal.selectedplcofBirth}" filterMatchMode="none" valueChangeListener="#{inputPersonal.valueChangeEventCity}"> <f:selectItems value="#{inputPersonal.cities}"/> </ace:autoCompleteEntry></h:outputFormat> is messing up.Any idea Why this is hapening? • Why isn't my javascript working on a local HTML file using UIWebView loadRequest:?

    - by Raphael
Hi Everyone, I have a script that generates a temporary HTML file that has links to external Javascript files that it requires to run. <script src="file:///Users/raphaeldefranco/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications/BA9E724E-76BD-4F28-B224-54B4C73786D6/LogTen.app/Reports/Time by Year/../../Tools/PlotKit/Base.js" type="text/javascript"></script> The links are absolute and they are to the right place (There is a CSS link as well that uses the same method and it works fine). I've been using the following, which finds images and CSS just fine but for some reason won't run the .js. [webView loadRequest:requestObj]; I've tried changing the encoding of the files. I had a problem getting the CSS to work until the file was in unicode, but so far no luck. All the Script files are bundled with my project etc. Thanks in advance!

  • Comments for Function in Emacs

    - by Ryan
I'm looking for a way to add comments for my functions in Emacs. Of course doxymacs is a nice candidate. But I prefer another way works without the necessary libs. Can anyone recommend some others ways for adding smart comments for functions in Emacs? Thanks. Edit: Now I found this: http://nschum.de/src/emacs/doc-mode/, but it seems that it does not work well after I require it into my .emacs and add hook for js-mode. Doesn't it support js functions ?

  • How can I implement lazy loading on a page with 500+ images?

    - by Fedor
I basically have a booking engine unit results page which must show 40 units and per each unit there's 1 large image of the first thumbnail and an X number of accompanying thumbnail images. I've been using the jquery lazy load plugin, but it's not thorough enough ( I'm invoking it on DOM Ready ), plus it doesn't really work in IE ( 50% of the clients use IE so it's a big issue ). What I think I really need to do is not really spit out the image but a fake element such as a span, and possibly modify my code such that if the user views the span, render it into an image element. <span src="/images/foo.gif"> The booking engine relies on JS so I think I might be forced to just rely on ajaxifying all the thumbnails and have event handlers on window scroll, etc in order for the page to be "usable" and load at an average time ( 2-3 seconds instead of 5-30s on high speed DSL/Cable ). I'd appreciate any examples or ideas.

  • Using JS script for "raining images". Can't seem to hide pre-loaded image

    - by user1813605
    I am trying to hide an image in a script pre-loading on the page. Below script makes images "rain" down the screen onClick. It functions well, but it displays the pre-loaded image itself on the page before the button is clicked. I'm trying to hide the image until the button is pressed. If anyone has any insight on how to hide the image until the function dispenseMittens() runs, I'd be eternally grateful :) Thanks! <script language="javascript"> var pictureSrc = 'mitten.gif'; //the location of the mittens var pictureWidth = 40; //the width of the mittens var pictureHeight = 46; //the height of the mittens var numFlakes = 10; //the number of mittens var downSpeed = 0.01; var lrFlakes = 10; var EmergencyMittens = false; //safety checks. Browsers will hang if this is wrong. If other values are wrong there will just be errors if( typeof( numFlakes ) != 'number' || Math.round( numFlakes ) != numFlakes || numFlakes < 1 ) { numFlakes = 10; } //draw the snowflakes for( var x = 0; x < numFlakes; x++ ) { if( document.layers ) { //releave NS4 bug document.write('<layer id="snFlkDiv'+x+'"><img src="'+pictureSrc+'" height="'+pictureHeight+'" width="'+pictureWidth+'" alt="*" border="0"></layer>'); } else { document.write('<div style="position:absolute;" id="snFlkDiv'+x+'"><img src="'+pictureSrc+'" height="'+pictureHeight+'" width="'+pictureWidth+'" alt="*" border="0"></div>'); } } //calculate initial positions (in portions of browser window size) var xcoords = new Array(), ycoords = new Array(), snFlkTemp; for( var x = 0; x < numFlakes; x++ ) { xcoords[x] = ( x + 1 ) / ( numFlakes + 1 ); do { snFlkTemp = Math.round( ( numFlakes - 1 ) * Math.random() ); } while( typeof( ycoords[snFlkTemp] ) == 'number' ); ycoords[snFlkTemp] = x / numFlakes; } //now animate function mittensFall() { if( !getRefToDivNest('snFlkDiv0') ) { return; } var scrWidth = 0, scrHeight = 0, scrollHeight = 0, scrollWidth = 0; //find screen settings for all variations. doing this every time allows for resizing and scrolling if( typeof( window.innerWidth ) == 'number' ) { scrWidth = window.innerWidth; scrHeight = window.innerHeight; } else { if( document.documentElement && ( document.documentElement.clientWidth || document.documentElement.clientHeight ) ) { scrWidth = document.documentElement.clientWidth; scrHeight = document.documentElement.clientHeight; } else { if( document.body && ( document.body.clientWidth || document.body.clientHeight ) ) { scrWidth = document.body.clientWidth; scrHeight = document.body.clientHeight; } } } if( typeof( window.pageYOffset ) == 'number' ) { scrollHeight = pageYOffset; scrollWidth = pageXOffset; } else { if( document.body && ( document.body.scrollLeft || document.body.scrollTop ) ) { scrollHeight = document.body.scrollTop; scrollWidth = document.body.scrollLeft; } else { if( document.documentElement && ( document.documentElement.scrollLeft || document.documentElement.scrollTop ) ) { scrollHeight = document.documentElement.scrollTop; scrollWidth = document.documentElement.scrollLeft; } } } //move the snowflakes to their new position for( var x = 0; x < numFlakes; x++ ) { if( ycoords[x] * scrHeight > scrHeight - pictureHeight ) { ycoords[x] = 0; } var divRef = getRefToDivNest('snFlkDiv'+x); if( !divRef ) { return; } if( divRef.style ) { divRef = divRef.style; } var oPix = document.childNodes ?   • Getting data into an input field from YUI Calendar with multi-select:true

    - by kylex
<script type="text/javascript"> YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady(function(){ YAHOO.dateSelects.exc = new YAHOO.widget.Calendar("exc","excContainer", { title:"Choose a date:", close:true, multi_select:true }); YAHOO.dateSelects.exc.render(); YAHOO.util.Event.addListener( "excshowup", "click", YAHOO.dateSelects.exc.show, YAHOO.dateSelects.exc, true ); }); </script> <div class="calendarOuterContainer"> <div id="excContainer" class="calendarContainer"></div> </div> <a id="excshowup"><img src="/images/icons/calendar.png" /></a> The preceding code generates a YUI calendar with the ability to select multiple dates on one calendar. What I am having trouble figuring out is how to capture that data and place it inside a text input tag on the fly. So when a person clicks the close button, all the selected dates are populated inside the input tag. Suggestions?

    - by 0plus1
Hi, I'm doing this: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: baseURL+"sys/formTipi_azioni",data:"az_tipo="+azione, beforeSend: function(){$("#form").html('<p><img src="'+baseURL+'lib/img/ajax-loader.gif" width="16" height="16" alt="loading" /><p>');}, success: function(html){$("#form").html(html);} }); there is a case when azione is TB+ the plus sign doesn't get POSTed at all, a blank space get sent. I already tried this: azione = escape(String(azione)); With no luck. Does anybody knows how to fix this? Thank you
