  • Unicorn 3 throwing tons of errors (Rails 3.0.3, Unicorn 3.0)

    I just tried to upgrade to Unicorn 3.0. I changed my Gemfile and did a bundle install. When restarting my Unicorn I got tons of errors beginning with: Unhandled listen loop exception #<Errno::ENOSYS: Function not implemented - accept>. /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/unicorn-3.0.0/lib/unicorn/http_server.rb:593:in `kgio_tryaccept' I’m on Ubuntu 10.04. And, can anyone explain to me why the heck I can’t use an older version of a Gem than the most recent installed? After getting the errors above I just changed the version number of Unicorn in my Gemfile to 1.1.4. But this didn’t solve the problem, Ruby told me that You have already activated unicorn 3.0.0, but your Gemfile requires unicorn 1.1.4. Consider using bundle exec. (Gem::LoadError) Do I really have to? Thanks in advance for your help, guys.

  • How to stop basic Postfix after-queue script from BCC-ing sender?

    I'm building a content filter for Postfix (2.9.3 package installed via apt on an Ubuntu 12.04 test VM) and I'm starting with a very basic Ruby (1.9.3) template and building up functionality. Strangely, when the script is enabled, messages sent are being forwarded on as normal, but also sent back to the sender which is not normal. Disabling the script disables this behavior. Any suggestions about what I have to change to stop that from happening?   • Error running phusion passenger in standalone mode

    I'm trying to run standalone phusion passenger so that I can run different ruby rvm configurations on the same host. I already have ruby and passenger running fine on this host. I am following the instructions here. When I run standalone passenger the first time, it appears to successfully install nginx. But then when it tries to run, I get this error: [root@clark directra]# passenger start -a 127.0.0.1 -p 3001 -d --user dweb *** ERROR *** Could not start Passenger Nginx core: nginx: [alert] could not open error log file: open() "/tmp/passenger-standalone.16757/logs/error.log" failed (2: No such file or directory) nginx: [alert] Unable to start the Phusion Passenger watchdog (/var/lib/passenger-standalone/3.0.11-x86-ruby1.9.3-linux-gcc4.1.2-1002/support/ agents/PassengerWatchdog): Permission denied (13) (13: Permission denied) Stopping web server... done FWIW, /tmp is writeable.   • TCP connection stuck in SYN_RECV state despite ACK received, Linux 2.6.18, embedded, ARM

    My client cannot connect to my protocol port (TCP) after some network glitches, even though all other protocols (telnet/HTTP/FTP) work fine. netstat shows that my server is listening and tcpdump on the server shows all 3 packets are exchanged: 18:29:16.578964 IP 10.9.59.10.3355 10.9.43.131.5084: S 2602965897:2602965897(0) win 65535 <mss 1460,nop,nop,sackOK> 18:29:16.579107 IP 10.9.43.131.5084 10.9.59.10.3355: S 3464857909:3464857909(0) ack 2602965898 win 5840 <mss 1460,nop,nop,sackOK> 18:29:16.579284 IP 10.9.59.10.3355 10.9.43.131.5084: . ack 1 win 65535 But somehow netstat -t shows the connection still in SYN_RECV, as if the ack is not seen by the TCP state machine. I have to restart my server to get it to work. syncookie is not enabled, and I know from client code behavior and tcpdump that there is no SYN flooding. Help much appreciated.

  • rails didnt install correclty, specificly the uninstaller

    ive just installed rails using railsinstaller.org for osx, rails and ruby seem to be working ok (checked by running rails -v and ruby --version). But when it installed i got an error saying that not there were errors and the uninstaller didnt install correctly. Somthing odd i saw was that when i load terminal i get this showing up Last login: Fri Nov 30 13:12:09 on ttys000 unknown5c969d7cc475:~ Sam$ specificly the "unknon5c96..." part im not sure if its related ? I think i might have got the install error as xcode wasnt installed first, for peice of mind id like to unistall it and load it back on, but when i try and run the installer from the application folder it just asks for my password and then dose nothing.. any ideas how i can fix this ?

    I am trying to install Ruby on Rails. and i have followed the following link for the install https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-install-ruby-on-rails-on-ubuntu-12-04-lts-precise-pangolin-with-rvm. This link was helpful i was able to run it, and everything, however as soon has i restarted the computer i then go into my apps and run it again with rails s and this message occurs. The program 'rails' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing: sudo apt-get install rails But work before, what should i do, do i need to set the path of somesort?? I am not that great in linux so bear with me. I am using linux ubuntu 12.04 desktop and my user is john Thanks in advance

    Hi. I really need help debugging an error I'm getting with Passenger on Apache. I've just made a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.4 and have Apache, Ruby and Passenger installed. I'm trying to run a simple rack app but keep getting this error in my Apache error.log [Tue Sep 28 05:54:41 2010] [error] [client 86.171.2.82] Premature end of script headers: The error then continues with The backend application (process 25574) did not send a valid HTTP response; instead, it sent nothing at all.     I'm attempting to access logs from a proprietary hardware box with no reasonable hope of modifying the software. There is a process on the device to dump log files to a flash drive on the USB port after entering a code sequence. Currently, analysis of the logs requires the following: Physical presence at the device Manual entry of the code sequence Removal of USB device Insertion of USB device into a normal Linux box I'm hoping there is some sort of device that can act as a USB mass storage device but simultaneously make it's contents available as a network file share (wired preferred). Does such a device currently exist? A combo hardware/software solution would also work.

  • Motherboard with embedded hdmi problems with Windows 8 Consumer Preview (64bit)

    I'm specifically referring to GIGABYTE GA-E7AUM-DS2H LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 9400 HDMI Micro ATX with a Core 2 Duo chip. This computer is connected to a Sharp Aquous TV using HDMI. It all worked fine with Windows 7 64 bit. In Device Manager I see GeForce 9400 and have installed the latest NVidia drivers (295.73 WHQL). However, when I click on the change the screen resolution to 1920x1080, I see that Windows 8 thinks that it's using some other graphics card with Microsoft Basic Display Driver. This was made clear, when I tried to launch the NVidia tools and it claimed that the current monitor (in this case my TV) wasn't attached to the GeForce 9400 card. In Device Manager, there's a "Coprocessor" and "Unknown device" without drivers, but I've no idea what they are. I've run the original CD that the motherboard came with no success. Any ideas?

  • UFW blocking webrick on port 3000

    On a ubuntu 10.0.4 server runs redmine. starting webrick with: ./server webrick -e production -b lvps46-173-79-113.dedicated.hosteurope.de -d makes redmine available in browser. as soon as we enable ufw, webrick can´t be accessed anymore. of course we allowed Port 3000 from anywhere ufw allow 3000/tcp ufw allow 3000/udp also a grep for iptables doesn´t show a deny rule iptables -nL | grep 3000 find the whole iptables output here http://pastebin.com/k6WNqdPU checking lsof -ni tcp:2222 tells me ruby is listening on port 3000 ruby 3457 root 5u IPv4 864846667 0t0 TCP 46.173.79.113:3000 (LISTEN) What else can we check? what´s wrong with the ufw rules for port 3000?

    I have a SQL Server Reporting Services report with an embedded image in the header. It works fine in preview mode and if I inspect the RDL file, it has the encoded image stream in there. However, when I deploy the report to the server and view the report in the Report Manager, the image shows with a broken X icon. Has anyone experienced this?
