  • Python: Importing a variable inside of a infinite loop

    I have two modules, a host and a scanner. Both loop indefinitely to communicate with the serial ports. I want to import the variable "bestchannel" from scanner into host but by importing it, the while loop inside scanner runs first and loops forever. I want each module to run separately but be able to send each other data in real time. Is this possible?     Say that I have two CSV files (file1 and file2) with contents as shown below: file1: fred,43,Male,"23,45",blue,"1, bedrock avenue" file2: fred,39,Male,"23,45",blue,"1, bedrock avenue" I would like to compare these two CSV records to see if columns 0,2,3,4, and 5 are the same. I don't care about column 1. What's the most pythonic way of doing this? EDIT: Some example code would be appreciated.

How would you write an algorithm that takes care of this? In other words, that makes sure that on 10.000 random picks, A will be selected 2.481 times?

    Let's say I've got a window for which I want to simulate a mouse click at a specific x, y coordinate. I already have the hwnd but I'm not sure how to construct the lParam. I've used SendMessage in the past to click on buttons, etc., but I knew their hwnds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also can't help but wonder if I'm going about this the right way. My end goal is clicking on a certain user on skype main window (for example). I used EnumChildWindows to find all the main window's children, but couldn't find the right one. So figured I would try to 'click' on it using coordinates.

    How do I make setup.py include a file that isn't part of the code? (Specifically, it's a license file, but it could be any other thing.) I want to be able to control the location of the file. In the original source folder, the file is in the root of the package. (i.e. on the same level as the topmost __init__.py.) I want it to stay exactly there when the package is installed, regardless of operating system. How do I do that?

I can get value from DB manually and init my var statically, but how? in DB field 'field1' I see something like '0x7B0500000100000064000000B80100006'. and how can I init valid binary buffer from it?
