By default, 3 blocks(Content 0,Content 1,Content 2) are coming. When is clicked then (Content 1,Content 2,Content 3) will come. For this, I hide content 0 block. But layout will disturb on << click. I know this is wrong way. I should set left position instead of hiding content but it is empty I tried to set left position but no luck. Let me know How the block can be moved one by one using javascript and what is the best approach to do this?

  • SQL GROUP BY - also SELECT not-constant columns

    - by Michal Kosek
can someone please help me with this query? I have 2 tables in my database: log_visitors: -------------------- id | host_id log_access: -------------------- visitor | document | timestamp "log_access.visitor" links to "log_visitors.id" Currently, I'm using this query: SELECT log_visitors.host_id , MIM(log_access.timestamp) AS min_timestamp FROM log_access INNER JOIN log_visitors ON (log_access.visitor = log_visitors.id) GROUP BY log_visitors.host_id; to get "MIN(timestamp)" for each "host_id" in the database. HERE'S MY QUESTION: I also need to get "document" for that access with that timestamp... I can't simply add "log_access.document" into SELECT list, since it's not constant and I am not grouping by document... Any ideas?

  • Setting value for autocomplete search field linked to Google Places API

    - by user1653350
I have a web page where people will be able to enter multiple destinations. When they state they want to enter a new destination, the current field values are stored in arrays. If they choose to go back to a previous destination, the relevant values are reinserted into the form fields. I am using the search field linked to autocomplete as the visible display of the destination. When I attempt to put a value into the linked search field, the value is presented as if it is a placeholder instead of a value. Enter the field and the value is removed by the onFocus() event of the Google Places autocomplete add-in. How can I reinsert the value and have it recognised as a value instead of placeholder. field definition in the form <label for="GoogleDestSrch" class="inputText">Destination: <span id="DestinationDisplay2">1</span> <span class="required"><font size="5"> * </font></span></label> <input id="GoogleDestSrch" type="text" size="50" placeholder="Please enter your destination" /> initialise code for Google Places API listener var input = document.getElementById('GoogleDestSrch'); var autocomplete = new google.maps.places.Autocomplete(input); google.maps.event.addListener(autocomplete, 'place_changed', function() { fillInAddress(); }); attempting to reinsert value into search field when prior destination reloaded form.GoogleDestSrch.value = GoogleDestSrch[index]; Issue With Google Places <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function GotoDestination(index) { var domove = true; if (index == 0) { index = lastIndex + 1; } else { if (index == -1) { index = lastIndex - 1; if (index == 0) { index = 1; domove = false; } } } if (domove) { if (index != lastIndex) { var doc = window.document; var pdbutton = doc.getElementById("pdbutton"); var pdbutton1 = doc.getElementById("pdbutton1"); if ((index > lastIndex)) { // move to next destination saveDataF(lastIndex); loadDataF(index); lastIndex = index; } else if (index <= lastIndex) { // move to previous destination saveDataF(lastIndex); loadDataF(index); lastIndex = index; } } } } var input; var autocomplete; // fill in the Google metadata when a destination is selected function fillInAddress() { var strFullValue = ''; var strFullGeoValue = ''; var place = autocomplete.getPlace(); document.getElementById("GoogleType").value = place.types[0]; } function saveDataF(index) { var fieldValue; var blankSearch = "Please enter"; // placeholder text for Google Places fieldValue = document.getElementById("GoogleDestSrch").value; if (fieldValue.indexOf(blankSearch) > -1) { fieldValue = ""; } GoogleDestSrch[index] = fieldValue; } function loadDataF(index) { if ((GoogleDestSrch[index] + "") == "undefined") { document.getElementById("GoogleDestSrch").value = ""; } else { document.getElementById("GoogleDestSrch").value = GoogleDestSrch[index]; } } // -- Destination: 1 * Type of place // input = document.getElementById('GoogleDestSrch'); autocomplete = new google.maps.places.Autocomplete(input); google.maps.event.addListener(autocomplete, 'place_changed', function () { fillInAddress(); }); //]]

  • How to program critical section for reader-writer systems?

    - by Srinivas Nayak
Hi, Lets say, I have a reader-writer system where reader and writer are concurrently running. 'a' and 'b' are two shared variables, which are related to each other, so modification to them needs to be an atomic operation. A reader-writer system can be of the following types: rr ww r-w r-ww rr-w rr-ww where [ r : single reader rr: multiple reader w : single writer ww: multiple writer ] Now, We can have a read method for a reader and a write method for a writer as follows. I have written them system type wise. rr read_method { read a; read b; } ww write_method { lock(m); write a; write b; unlock(m); } r-w r-ww rr-w rr-ww read_method { lock(m); read a; read b; unlock(m); } write_method { lock(m); write a; write b; unlock(m); } For multiple reader system, shared variable access doesn't need to be atomic. For multiple writer system, shared variable access need to be atomic, so locked with 'm'. But, for system types 3 to 6, is my read_method and write_method correct? How can I improve? Sincerely, Srinivas Nayak

  • How can I convert a bunch of files from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8 using Perl?

    - by tau
I have several documents I need to convert from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8 (without the BOM of course). This is the issue though. I have so many of these documents (it is actually a mix of documents, some UTF-8 and some ISO-8859-1) that I need an automated way of converting them. Unfortunately I only have ActivePerl installed and don't know much about encoding in that language. I may be able to install PHP, but I am not sure as this is not my personal computer. Just so you know, I use Scite or Notepad++, but both do not convert correctly. For example, if I open a document in Czech that contains the character "ž" and go to the "Convert to UTF-8" option in Notepad++, it incorrectly converts it to an unreadable character. There is a way I CAN convert them, but it is tedious. If I open the document with the special characters and copy the document to Windows clipboard, then paste it into a UTF-8 document and save it, it is okay. This is too tedious (opening every file and copying/pasting into a new document) for the amount of documents I have. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

  • Javascript callback on blackberry

    - by Jeff
I'm working on a mobile project, and I have a script that is dynamically generated on the backend and then appended to the document (the html page). Desktop browsers seem to append the script correctly and call any functions in the script, however, I can't get this to happen on Blackberry phones. I know that the script is being appending because I can alert it after I append it. I just can get it to call the function in the script. For example, if I have code like this: var scriptText = document.createElement('script'); scriptText.type = 'text/javascript'; scriptText.id = 'thisScript'; scriptText.innerHTML = 'alert("hello");'; document.getElementById('idName').appendChild(scriptText); alert(document.getElementById('thisScript')); //Alerts the script element. This will alert 'hello' in desktop browsers and even the iPhone/iPodTouch, but not BlackBerry's. Anyone have any idea why? Or if there's a fix/hack?

  • How to use reflection to call a method and pass parameters whose types are unknown at compile time?

    - by MandoMando
I'd like to call methods of a class dynamically with parameter values that are "parsed" from a string input. For example: I'd like to call the following program with these commands: c:myprog.exe MethodA System.Int32 777 c:myprog.exe MethodA System.float 23.17 c:myprog.exe MethodB System.Int32& 777 c:myprog.exe MethodC System.Int32 777 System.String ThisCanBeDone static void Main(string[] args) { ClassA aa = new ClassA(); System.Type[] types = new Type[args.Length / 2]; object[] ParamArray = new object[types.Length]; for (int i=0; i < types.Length; i++) { types[i] = System.Type.GetType(args[i*2 + 1]); // LINE_X: this will obviously cause runtime error invalid type/casting ParamArray[i] = args[i*2 + 2]; MethodInfo callInfo = aa.GetType().GetMethod(args[0],types); callInfo.Invoke(aa, ParamArray); } // In a non-changeable classlib: public class ClassA { public void MethodA(int i) { Console.Write(i.ToString()); } public void MethodA(float f) { Console.Write(f.ToString()); } public void MethodB(ref int i) { Console.Write(i.ToString()); i++; } public void MethodC(int i, string s) { Console.Write(s + i.ToString()); } public void MethodA(object o) { Console.Write("Argg! Type Trapped!"); } } "LINE_X" in the above code is the sticky part. For one, I have no idea how to assign value to a int or a ref int parameter even after I create it using Activator.CreatInstance or something else. The typeConverter does come to mind, but then that requires an explicit compile type casting as well. Am I looking at CLR with JavaScript glasses or there is way to do this?

  • Parse and read data frame in C?

    - by user253656
I am writing a program that reads the data from the serial port on Linux. The data are sent by another device with the following frame format: |start | Command | Data | CRC | End | |0x02 | 0x41 | (0-127 octets) | | 0x03| ---------------------------------------------------- The Data field contains 127 octets as shown and octet 1,2 contains one type of data; octet 3,4 contains another data. I need to get these data I know how to write and read data to and from a serial port in Linux, but it is just to write and read a simple string (like "ABD") My issue is that I do not know how to parse the data frame formatted as above so that I can: get the data in octet 1,2 in the Data field get the data in octet 3,4 in the Data field get the value in CRC field to check the consistency of the data Here the sample snip code that read and write a simple string from and to a serial port in Linux: int writeport(int fd, char *chars) { int len = strlen(chars); chars[len] = 0x0d; // stick a <CR> after the command chars[len+1] = 0x00; // terminate the string properly int n = write(fd, chars, strlen(chars)); if (n < 0) { fputs("write failed!\n", stderr); return 0; } return 1; } int readport(int fd, char *result) { int iIn = read(fd, result, 254); result[iIn-1] = 0x00; if (iIn < 0) { if (errno == EAGAIN) { printf("SERIAL EAGAIN ERROR\n"); return 0; } else { printf("SERIAL read error %d %s\n", errno, strerror(errno)); return 0; } } return 1; } Does anyone please have some ideas? Thanks all.

  • Are there existing web sites that use a photo as a electronic signature?

    - by Alessandro Vernet
The use case: to sign a electronic document, users view the document, and if they agree take a picture of themselves with their webcam (done through Flash from the browser). Then a PDF is generated containing the document and the picture in place of signature. This is a biometric signature, which is not as strong as a digital (cryptographic) signature, but stronger than having users draw their signature, as a photo is harder to forge than a drawn signature. Has anyone seen this technique being used on an existing web site?

  • Javascript: Adding selected text to an array

My goal: each time a user selects text, and clicks a button, that text gets added to an array. The problem: each time the button is pressed, the all objects of the array get overridden with the currently selected text. I'd really appreciate help changing the behavior so that the selected text doesn't override all previous array items. <script type="text/javascript"> var selects = new Array(); selects.push("1"); function getSelText() { var i = 0; while (i<1) { var txt = [null]; var x = 0; if (window.getSelection) { txt[x] = window.getSelection(); } else if (document.getSelection) { txt[x] = document.getSelection(); } else if (document.selection) { txt[x] = document.selection.createRange().text; } else return; selects.push(txt); x++; i++; }; document.menu.selectedtext.value = selects; } </script> <form class="menu" name="menu"> <input type="button" value="highlight" class="highlightButton" onmousedown="getSelText()"/> <textarea name="selectedtext" rows="5" cols="20"></textarea> </form> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. • How can I save an NSDocument concurrently?

    - by Paperflyer
I have a document based application. Saving the document can take a few seconds, so I want to enable the user to continue using the program while it saves the document in the background. Due to the document architecture, my application is asked to save to a temporary location and that temporary file is then copied over the old file. However, this means that I can not just run my file saving code in the background and return way before it is done, since the temporary file has to be written completely before it can be copied. Is there a way to disable this temporary-file-behavior or otherwise enable file saving in the background?

  • Will JavaScript evaluate a property's value if it's not part of an assignment statement?

    - by Bungle
I've come across a fairly obscure problem having to do with measuring a document's height before the styling has been applied by the browser. More information here: http://sonspring.com/journal/jquery-iframe-sizing http://ajaxian.com/archives/safari-3-onload-firing-and-bad-timing In Dave Hyatt's comment from June 27, he advises simply checking the document.body.offsetLeft property to force Safari to do a reflow. Can I simply use the following statement: document.body.offsetLeft; or do I need to assign it to a variable, e.g.: var force_layout = document.body.offsetLeft; in order for browsers to calculate that value? I think this comes down to a more fundamental question - that is, without being part of an assignment statement, will JavaScript still evaluate a property's value? Does this depend on whether a particular browser's JavaScript engine optimizes the code?

  • Problem with JavaScript arithmetic

I have a form for my customers to add budget projections. A prominent user wants to be able to show dollar values in either dollars, Kila-dollars or Mega-dollars. • Why do I get a segmentation fault while redirecting sys.stdout to Tkinter.Text widget in Python?

    - by Brent Nash
I'm in the process of building a GUI-based application with Python/Tkinter that builds on top of the existing Python bdb module. In this application, I want to silence all stdout/stderr from the console and redirect it to my GUI. To accomplish this purpose, I've written a specialized Tkinter.Text object (code at the end of the post). The basic idea is that when something is written to sys.stdout, it shows up as a line in the "Text" with the color black. If something is written to sys.stderr, it shows up as a line in the "Text" with the color red. As soon as something is written, the Text always scrolls down to view the most recent line. I'm using Python 2.6.1 at the moment. On Mac OS X 10.5, this seems to work great. I have had zero problems with it. On RedHat Enterprise Linux 5, however, I pretty reliably get a segmentation fault during the run of a script. The segmentation fault doesn't always occur in the same place, but it pretty much always occurs. If I comment out the sys.stdout= and sys.stderr= lines from my code, the segmentation faults seem to go away. I'm sure there are other ways around this that I will probably have to resort to, but can anyone see anything I'm doing blatantly wrong here that could be causing these segmentation faults? It's driving me nuts. Thanks! PS - I realize redirecting sys.stderr to the GUI might not be a great idea, but I still get segmentation faults even when I only redirect sys.stdout and not sys.stderr. I also realize that I'm allowing the Text to grow indefinitely at the moment. class ConsoleText(tk.Text): '''A Tkinter Text widget that provides a scrolling display of console stderr and stdout.''' class IORedirector(object): '''A general class for redirecting I/O to this Text widget.''' def __init__(self,text_area): self.text_area = text_area class StdoutRedirector(IORedirector): '''A class for redirecting stdout to this Text widget.''' def write(self, str): self.text_area.write(str,False) class StderrRedirector(IORedirector): '''A class for redirecting stderr to this Text widget.''' def write(self, str): self.text_area.write(str,True) def __init__(self, master=None, cnf={}, **kw): '''See the __init__ for Tkinter.Text for most of this stuff.''' tk.Text.__init__(self, master, cnf, **kw) self.started = False self.write_lock = threading.Lock() self.tag_configure('STDOUT',background='white',foreground='black') self.tag_configure('STDERR',background='white',foreground='red') self.config(state=tk.DISABLED) def start(self): if self.started: return self.started = True self.original_stdout = sys.stdout self.original_stderr = sys.stderr stdout_redirector = ConsoleText.StdoutRedirector(self) stderr_redirector = ConsoleText.StderrRedirector(self) sys.stdout = stdout_redirector sys.stderr = stderr_redirector def stop(self): if not self.started: return self.started = False sys.stdout = self.original_stdout sys.stderr = self.original_stderr def write(self,val,is_stderr=False): #Fun Fact: The way Tkinter Text objects work is that if they're disabled, #you can't write into them AT ALL (via the GUI or programatically).
