• Update php 5.2.0 to 5.2.4 with aptitude

  Hi guy, I would like to update my php 5 in my server. At this moment, I use php 5.2.0 so I want to update it to php 5.2.4 (not php 5.3). I tried to do this: aptitude update aptitude upgrade 63 packets were updated but not php which is always in 5.0 How can I update my php please ? • LinkedIn API returns 'Unauthorized' response (PHP OAuth)

  I've been struggling with this one for a few days now. I've got a test app set up to connect to LinkedIn via OAuth. I want to be able to update a user's status, but at the moment I'm unable to interact with LinkedIn's API at all. • Android JSON HttpClient to send data to PHP server with HttpResponse

  I am currently trying to send some data from and Android application to a php server (both are controlled by me). There is alot of data collected on a form in the app, this is written to the database. This all works. • Flex/PHP/XML data issue

  I have built a simple application in Flex. When the application loads, a GET request is made to the xmlService.php file with parameters "fetchData=letters". This tells the PHP to return the XML code. In Flex Debug I can see the XML data being sent by the PHP to the flex client. What I need it to do is populate the first drop down box (id="letter") with this data, however nothing is being received by Flex. I added an Alert.show() to check what was being returned but when the application runs, the alert is blank. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. • How do I pass session variables from one domain to another in PHP

  Hi everyone, I have encountered a situation where I need to pass $_SESSION variables from one domain to an iFrame page from another domain. I have spent the last 16 days trying various methods to no avail. I think that the only logical way would be to encode the variables in the url that calls the iFrame and decode them in th iFrame page. I am not sure how to go about this and I am looking for any samples, assistance etc that I can find. Thanks for any and all suggestions. Here is an example of what I am trying to do... I used a program called WireShark to record my packets and play them back using a packet player. This took two hours of troubleshooting and configuring. I have enabled sessions, so that I can track login status, etc. I don't need some super security here (ie message-level security), all I need is transport security (HTTPS), since this service will be used infrequently, and performances are not so much of an issue. I am having difficulties making it to work at all. C# throws some unclear exception ("Server returned an invalid SOAP Fault. Please see InnerException for more details.", which in turn says "Unbound prefix used in qualified name 'rpc:ProcedureNotPresent'."), but consuming service using PHP SOAP client behaves as expected (including session and all). • A function where small changes in input always result in large changes in output

  I would like an algorithm for a function that takes n integers and returns one integer. For small changes in the input, the resulting integer should vary greatly. Even though I've taken a number of courses in math, I have not used that knowledge very much and now I need some help... An important property of this function should be that if it is used with coordinate pairs as input and the result is plotted (as a grayscale value for example) on an image, any repeating patterns should only be visible if the image is very big. I have experimented with various algorithms for pseudo-random numbers with little success and finally it struck me that md5 almost meets my criteria, except that it is not for numbers (at least not from what I know). That resulted in something like this Python prototype (for n = 2, it could easily be changed to take a list of integers of course): import hashlib def uniqnum(x, y): return int(hashlib.md5(str(x) + ',' + str(y)).hexdigest()[-6:], 16) But obviously it feels wrong to go over strings when both input and output are integers. What would be a good replacement for this implementation (in pseudo-code, python, or whatever language)?

• Is there a config option in PHP to prevent undefined constants from being interpreted as strings?

  This is from the php manual: http://us.php.net/manual/en/language.constants.syntax.php If you use an undefined constant, PHP assumes that you mean the name of the constant itself, just as if you called it as a string (CONSTANT vs "CONSTANT"). An error of level E_NOTICE will be issued when this happens. I really don't like this behavior. If I have failed to define a required constant, I would rather the script fail so that I am forced define it. Is there any way to force PHP to crash the script if it tries to use an undefined constant? For example. Both of these scripts do the same thing. <?php define('DEBUG',1); if (DEBUG) echo('Yo!'); ?> and <?php if(DEBUG) echo('Yo!'); ?> I would rather the second script DIE and declare that it tried to use an undefined constant DEBUG.

• Javascript Function for related select elements onSubmit

  I am trying to create (4) Select elements within a form element. Each select element has a different number of options. So if a user click one option on Select #1 and then click another option on Select #2, after hitting submit they will be taken to www.blah.com/option1/option2 page which will display the filtered results. Or they can chose an option from all 4 select menus and be taken to option1/option2/option3/option4 page. The categories are all related .Select #1 is a category, Select #2 is a subcategory of 1, Select #3 is a subcategory of #2 and Select #4 is a subcategory of #3. A great example would be on (LINK) http://www.safavieh.com/rugs (LINK) except only four Select elements. I would also like to add the "Reset" button next to "Submit." I know I need to construct a function in my header and use onSubmit attribute within the form but other than that I am unsure of what's involved so I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
