• Generate markdown from source code doc-comments

  Is there any easy way to generate markdown from source code comments? I'm looking for something similar to Sandcastle, but with Markdown (or something like it) as output. The full story is that I use DokuWiki to generate documentation. It has many nice properties, including that all its data is stored in text files. So my idea is that I should somehow be able to get my API docs into the same place as the rest of my documentation. So far my best bet seems to be to write a custom documenter for NDoc3, but perhaps someone has already done something similar which would save me the trouble. I realize I might need to tweak it a little due to slight syntax differences.

  I need to validate the contents of a C# method. I do not care about syntax errors. I do care about characters that will invalidate parsing of the rest of the code. For example: method() { /* valid comment */ /* <-- bad for (i..) { } for (i..) { <-- bad } I need to validate/fix any non-paired characters. This includeds /* */, { }, and maybe others. • Is there any advantages to integrate Smarty with Zend?

  Hi, i am quite familiar with Smarty and recently decided to use Zend framework in implementation. because i am aware of the various advantages of Smarty, i insisted my contractor to integrate Smarty in. But now, i am questioning my assumptions. Should I integrate Smarty in with Zend framework? simply because I am familiar with Smarty syntax? I am also involved with the programming. I got the contractor to help in the architecture and with the prototype.

• .net, using PowerShell class to invoke a "[namespace.class]::method" style command

  Hello, I created a powershell object via .net to invoke commands. When I invoke normal commands like 'Get-Process' I had no problems: ps.AddCommand("Get-Process").AddParameter(...).Invoke() but I'm not able to invoke a .net method with the syntax "[namespace.class]::method", just to make an example to invoke [System.IO.File]::Exists("c:\boo.txt"). I tried with ps.AddCommand("[System.IO.File]::Exists(\"c:\boo.txt\")").Invoke() ps.AddCommand("[System.IO.File]::Exists").AddArgument("c:\boo.txt\").Invoke() and some others. It always throws an exception which says that the command specified is not recognized. There is a way to invoke that type of command? Thanks

• AJAX with Ruby on Rails?

  This is probably a really dumb question with a simple answer but... I am working on a project where I need to use AJAX to send/receive information. I am using Ruby on Rails (which I am pretty new to), but rather than using the helper methods or the built in functionality in the 'defaults' Javascript file, I need to do this manually in my own Javascript. I believe that ultimately I will want to send a request with a JSON object, then have the controller return another JSON object containing the requested information. The problem is that I cannot seem to find the syntax for sending something to a specific controller method, with parameters, directly from Javascript - everything I Google ends up being tutorials for using the Rails AJAX helper methods.

  I've used mysql's update replace function before, but even though I think I'm following the same syntax, I can't get this to work. • Can i bind an the datasource Index in a repeater/grid

  Hi All, I have a repeater.. and in my repeater i have a link that fires some JS. I would like to pass the itemIndex of the datasource in the JS. However, if the user removes all of the OWN, WANT, and TRADE cards, they go to zero but it will leave the record in the database. I would prefer to have the record removed. Is checking after each "update" to see if all the columns = 0 the only way to do this? Or can I set a conditional trigger with something like: //psuedo sql AFTER update IF (OWN = 0, WANT = 0, TRADE = 0) DELETE What is the best way to do this? Can you help with the syntax?

• Retreiving data from MySQL with html/javaScript on one domain and the PHP file on the other

  I need to retrieve data from a MySQL database, and have it work one way for all types of servers. For example it should work on a server that runs no server side language, it should also work on LAMP, and IIS. I was thinking about using ajax and xmlhttprequest, but learned of the cross domain limitation. I also tried to just include the PHP in a tag, but it comes back with a syntax error in the HTML code created by the PHP file, even though it looks correct. Does anyone know how to fix either of these issues, or have a different way to go about it?

  I'm trying to set up a MySQL query that will insert a row into table2 if a row in table1 exist already, otherwise it will just insert the row into table1. I need to find a way to adapt the following query into inserting a row into table2 with the existing row's id. I have several Git Repositories in a folder on my Mac (OSX 10.6) and would like a script or tool that will loop through all the repositories and let me know if any of them needs "commit"-ing. This is my structure Sites   /project1   /project2   /project3 I want the tool to do a "git status" in Sites/project1, Sites/project2, Sites/project3 and let me know if Sites/project2 and Sites/project3 have changes or new files and needs to be Staged/committed The closest script I found that might be hackable is here: http://gist.github.com/371828 but even that script wouldn't run and I get an error: "syntax error near unexpected token `do" which might have been written for *nix.

  Firstly, I am not at all familiar with windows batch file programing. Recently I am curious about how tomcat sets itself as a windows service using a batch file. I downloaded the service.bat file from tomcat 6. However, I still don't understand some part of it. I guess this is the line that the batch actually register the exe file to the OS, is it right? Is there any syntax explanation?   I'm currently working on a project for a web application that may be installed on several different servers with various software configurations. I want to make my application as flexible as possible by allowing the user to have various SQL servers installed. The problem is the SQL syntax used by any two server vendors does not match up.   I am currently trying to learn erlang and what I am trying to do is to perform an operation on specific indices of an array stored in a bit array or int. If there is a 0 in a position, the index into the array at that position is not used. So envision the following: Example the array is: [1, 3, 5, 42, 23] My bit array is: 21 = 10101 in binary so I'm using indicies 1,3,5 so I'm calling a function on [1, 5, 23] my function is of the form my_function(Array, BitArray) -> SubArray = get_subarray_from_bitarray(Array, BitArray), process_subarray(SubArray). And I need help with the get_subarray_from_bitarray(). I know erlang has special syntax around bit strings (something like <<) so is there an efficient way of indexing into the bit array to get the indicies?

• Ruby vs Lua as scripting language for C++

  I am currently building a game server (not an engine), and I want it to be extendable, like a plugin system. The solution I found is to use a scripting language. So far, so good. I'm not sure if I should use Ruby or Lua. Lua is easier to embed, but Ruby has a larger library, and better syntax (in my opinion). The problem is, there is no easy way I found to use Ruby as scripting language with C++, whereas it's very easy with Lua. Toughs about this? Suggestions for using Ruby as scripting language (I tried SWIG, but it isn't nearly as neat as using Lua)? Thanks.

  Is it somehow possible to identify unused variables in a PHP file in Emacs? With other languages, this is possible by using tools such as flymake. I've already enabled Flymake to show syntax errors for my PHP files on the fly, but still it's frustrating that PHP logic errors are sometimes due to situations like: <?php $foo = whatever(); $bar = something($fo); ... Note the typo on $foo that will contribute to the developer's headache and to his exorbitant use of coffee.
