in java is the name of a method a string? why or why not?
so if i have something like:
public static int METHODNAME (some parameters or not)
{
something to do ;
}
is METHODNAME a string?
I am using Eclipse v3.5.
In previous Eclipse versions i remember if i have defined a method with a parameter and didn't use it internally a warning appears, like this :
public void myMethod( int x ) {
// Didn't use x here so a warning appears at the x parameter.
}
But in v3.5 i do not see this warning. How can i enable it in Eclipse ?
What value is hashCode() method is returning in java?. i read that it is an memory reference of an object. when i print hascode value for new Integer(1), its 1. for String(a) - 97. so i confused. is it ascii or what type of value is?
How can I find out through reflection what is the string name of the method?
For example given:
class Car{
public void getFoo(){
}
}
I want to get the string "getFoo", something like the following:
Car.getFoo.toString() == "getFoo" // TRUE
In my messages_controller I have the following private method:
def find_message_or_404(slug)
message = user.messages.find_by_slug(slug)
if message.nil?
raise Error404
end
message
end
I find it not elegant and not very Rubist. Is there a way to improve it?

Is there a default timeout for threads waiting on a synchronised method in Java? Some threads in my app are not completing as expected. Is there anyway to check whether threads have died as a result of timeouts?

Hey guys,

So my question is, if anybody knows exactly, specificly what this message
Object doesn't support this property or method
means, causes, says ,...

What is the easiest way of pulling an excisting method out of it's class and into a new class using Visual studio 2010 / Resharper?
Edit: I use Resharper version 5.
I'm asking this question, because I can't figure out when I could find an use of this method.
If I've designed everything correctly then I should be able by the medium of normal returns and try catch clauses to handle all problems and end the application in a correct manner.
Am I wrong ?
Can PHP array passed POST method to catch in ASP.NET MVC?
Query string: WebAccess/ArrayTest?val[]=1&val[]=2&val[]=3
I write: ActionResult ArrayTest (String[] val)
But this only works if the query string to remove the "[]"
So, I came across an interesting method signature that I don't quite understand, it went along the lines of:
void Initialize(std::vector< std::string > & param1, class SomeClassName * p);
what I don't understand is the "class" keyword being used as the parameter, why is it there? Is it necessary to specify or it is purely superficial?
I'm creating a VB.NET application that includes two radio buttons inside of a groupbox. If the first radio button is selected, a certain tab on a tab form should be enabled. If the second radio button is selected, that tab should be disabled.
Is there a groupbox method that monitors both radio buttons and fires when the selection changes? Or do I need to set up individual methods for each radio button?
