  • Unable to parse variable length string separated by delimiter

    Hi, I have a problem with parsing a string, which consists only of directory path. For ex. My input string is Abc\Program Files\sample\ My output should be Abc//Program Files//sample The script should work for input path of any length i.e., it can contain any no. of subdirectories. (For ex., abc\temp\sample\folder\joe) I have looked for help in many links but to no avail. Looks like FOR command extracts only one whole line or a string (when we use ‘token’ keyword in FOR syntax) but my problem is that I am not aware of the input path length and hence, the no. of tokens. My idea was to use \ as a delimiter and then extract each word before and after it (), and put the words to an output file along with // till we reach the end of the string. I tried implementing the following but it did not work: @echo off FOR /F "delims=\" %%x in (orig.txt) do ( IF NOT %%x == "" echo.%%x//output.txt ) The file orig.txt contains only one line i.e, Abc\Program Files\sample\ The output that I get contains only: Abc// The above output contains blank spaces as well after ‘Abc//’ My desired output should be: Abc//program Files//sample// Can anyone please help me with this?     I have two files: index.php /lib/user.php Index contains the form: <div class="<? echo $msgclass; ?>"> <? echo $msg; ?> </div> <form id="signin" action="/lib/user.php" method="post"> ... </form> User.php makes all the processing. It sets $msg to 'some error message' and $msgalert to 'error' in case of any error. At the end of processing it uses header() to redirect to index.php But after redirection $msg and $msgalert no longer persist and index only gets empty vars. How can i fix this?

    I have a System.Timer setup to trigger an event every day at 2AM. If the process the timer starts fails then I want the timer to be reset to run every 15 minutes until the process completes succesfully. // this is how the timer is set up. // this is working correctly. double startTime = milliseconds_of_hour_to_start. Timer = new System.Timers.Timer( startTime); Here is the code to reset the timer on success or failure of the event handler. NOTE the timer is not being stopped, just the Interval property is being reset. if (ProcessSuccess) { Timer.Interval = TimeSpan.FromHours(24).TotalMilliseconds; } else { Timer.Interval = TimeSpan.FromMinutes(15).TotalMilliseconds; } My question is this, if the process fails say 4 times, then succeeds will the Timer now be running at around 3AM? i.e. after failing will the original start time of 2AM be advanced by 15 minutes?

    If I have an object instance and I know it is actually a boxed integer, then I can simply cast it back to int like this: object o = GetSomethingByName("foo"); int i = (int)o; However, I don't actually know that the value is an integer. I only know that it can be assigned to an integer. For example, it could be a byte, and the above code would throw InvalidCastException in that case. Instead I would have to do this: object o = GetSomethingByName("foo"); int i = (int)(byte)o; The value could also be a short, or something else which can be assigned to an int. How do I generalize my code to handle all those cases (without handling each possibility separately)?

The form submits correctly the first time but if you make any subsequent changes to the text in the form and then submit again then jquery does not pick up on the changes and posts the old data.   • Removing the last character of a string IF it is $variable

    Hi there, I've made a little script to convert titles into url friendly things. ie: 'I am a title' becomes 'I_am_a_title' My script basically goes through and turns spaces, apostrophes, commas etc etc into an underscore. The problem is, sometimes my url's end up like this: 'i_am_a_title_' with a trailing underscore... So i figure, add a little bit to go through and search to see if the last character is an underscore on the final result, and if it is, then swap it. I looked into the strrchr() function but I seem to be hitting a wall of my own understanding. How is this sort of thing accomplished?

  • Parallelism on two duo-core processor system

    I wrote a Java program that draw the Mandelbrot image. To make it interesting, I divided the for loop that calculates the color of each pixel into 2 halves; each half will be executed as a thread thus parallelizing the task. On a two core one cpu system, the performance of using two thread approach vs just one main thread is nearly two fold. My question is on a two dual-core processor system, will the parallelized task be split among different processor instead of just utilize the two core on one processor? I suppose the former scenario will be slower than the latter one simply because the latency of communicating between 2 CPU over the motherboard wires. Any ideas? Thanks

    I want to organize my c++ variables and functions in the following way: function prototypes in a header file "stuff.h", function implementation in "stuff.cpp", then say #include "stuff.h" in main.cpp (so I can call functions implemented in stuff.cpp). So far so good. Now I want to declare some variables in stuff.cpp that have global scope (so I can modify the variables in functions implemented in stuff.cpp and main.cpp). This doesn't seem to work. How can I do this?

    Hey everybody I want to perform a system-wide hook (using SetWindowHook) on a 64bit operating system. I know that 64bit processes (= proc64) can load only 64bit dlls (= dll64) and 32bit processes (= proc32) can load only 32bit dlls (= dll32). Currently I am planning to call SetWindowHook twice, once with dll32 and once with dll64, expecting that proc64s will load dll64 and proc32s will load dll32 (while dll32 for proc64s and dll64 for proc32s will fail). Is that the correct way to do that, or is there a "more correct" way to do that? Thanks! :-)

    Hello, I'm looking for a way to use pthread rwlock structure with conditions routines in C++. I have two questions: First: How is it possible and if we can't, why ? Second: Why current POSIX pthread have not implemented this behaviour ? To understand my purpose, I explain what will be my use: I've a producer-consumer model dealing with one shared array. The consumer will cond_wait when the array is empty, but rdlock when reading some elems. The producer will wrlock when adding(+signal) or removing elems from the array. The benefit of using rdlock instead of mutex_lock is to improve performance: when using mutex_lock, several readers would block, whereas using rdlock several readers would not block.

So I have two questions. Is there any way to write that debug method without using eval? If NO is there a preferred way to do this? Is there any way to pass a list of arguments to this method? I would ideally prefer debug {:x, :y. :anynumOfvariables}. I could not quite figure out how to factor that into the debug method (i.e, to take a list of arguments)

I want to use this 30 letter combination to access a row of an array, so I'm wondering if it is possible to use a 3 value bool of some sort to store 1 of 3 values in.
