  • Missing error handling in Streaming-AJAX-Proxy Log

    - by Michael Freidgeim
    We are using AjaxProxy(FROM http://www.codeproject.com/KB/ajax/ajaxproxy.aspx) on our web site, but started to notice errors accessing log.txt file. I found that the file is created by Log class and doesn't have ability to switch it off and error handling. I've added reading file name from configuration and try/catch block   public static class Log     {         private static StreamWriter logStream;         private static object lockObject = new object ();     public static void WriteLine(string msg)         {                       string logFileName = ConfigurationExtensions.GetAppSetting("AjaxStreamingProxy.LogFile" ,"");                       if (logFileName.IsNullOrEmpty())                             return;                       try                      {                             if (logStream == null )                            {                                    lock (lockObject)                                   {                                           if (logStream == null )                                          {                            logStream = File.AppendText(Path .Combine(AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory, logFileName));                                          }                                   }                            }                            logStream.WriteLine(msg);                      }                       catch (Exception exc)                      {                             string ignoredMsg = String .Format("The error occured while logging {0}, but processing will continue.\n {1} ", exc);                             LoggerHelper.LogEvent(ignoredMsg, MyCategorySource, TraceEventType .Warning, true);                      }         }

  • Installing a directory with a Debian Package

    - by Meisie
    Hi guys I want to create a Debian Package that installs a bunch of Folders to a system but I can't get it working. The Package gets created without any errors and lintian also says it's okay but installing does nothing. The rules file looks like this: <#>!/usr/bin/make -f logs = $(CURDIR)/shell_logs/ DEST1 = /opt/Pacetutor/ build: build-stamp build-stamp: dh_testdir touch build-stam clean: dh_testdir dh_testroot rm -f build-stamp dh_clean install: build clean $(logs) dh_testdir dh_testroot dh_prep dh_installdirs mkdir -m 755 -p $(DEST1) <- this is propably optional or not needed -> cp -r $(logs) $(DEST1) <- using mv works but thats not what I want. -> binary-indep: build install dh_testdir dh_testroot dh_installchangelogs dh_installdocs dh_installexamples dh_installman dh_link dh_compress dh_fixperms dh_installdeb dh_gencontrol dh_md5sums dh_builddeb binary-arch: build install binary: binary-indep binary-arch .PHONY: build clean binary-indep binary-arch binary install

  • Ubuntu One Music - 'Unable to Parse '2006-12-12T08:00:00Z' as integer (iTunes Non-DRM AAC)

    - by Scott
Good Morning; Title says most of it, uploaded a new song to my U1 Music (via my Android using the Files app). Which is an recently purchased iTunes .m4a song, so is non-DRM AAC. Uploaded fine, and browsing in U1 Music I see artist "Spray" fine, and then the Album, but attempting to open the Album to the song, returns: "'Unable to Parse '2006-12-12T08:00:00Z' as integer" Not sure if it's a problem with the file itself, or just how Android uploaded the file, as that is clearly a weird date code. All my other music is fine, no errors, and the service works awesome. My U1 account is under the e-mail address used for this question. Thanks!

  • Is there any map maker for javaME game?

    - by user1494517
For the past two weeks I was trying to make a map maker for my java ME 2D RPG game. I failed because i get errors using slick TWL and the forum for this is inactive. So I just wondered is there anyone that knows slick TWL (Themable Widget Library)? Or maybe do you know a good MapMaker where i could upload my map elements build a map and get numbers to use them for building map with LayerManager class? Already found one http://sourceforge.net/projects/tilemapeditor2d/. But the thing is my map elements are in different .png images. In one of those images there is 16 elements (trees water and etc) and those kind of images are 29. So it would be hard to build a map with LayerManager Well I was thinking putting everything into one image and that way it would be simplier.

  • How to run/test JavaScript? [closed]

    - by user702
I'm reading David Flanagan's "JavaScript: The Definitive Guide, 6th ed". It only actually tells users how to run JS code on page 311, where users are told of the following solutions: "Client-side JavaScript code is embedded within HTML documents in four ways: Inline, between a pair of <script> and </script> tags From an external file specified by the src attribute in a <script> tag In an HTML event handler attribute, such as onclick or onmouseover In a URL that uses the special javascript: protocol." I was wondering what professional JS developers use to write and test their code: Do they use a good text editor with syntax high-lighting + autocompletion, hit F5 in the browser to reload the page every time they make a change, and use some add-on in the browser to investigate errors? Or are there full-fledged IDE's similar to MS VisualStudio for non-web languages?

  • Can't copy file (I/O error) Ubuntu Server

    - by QxQ
I'm running Ubuntu Server 12.04, and basically found out that a couple of files aren't behaving like they should. The file name is r.-1.-1.mca, and I've tried using this terminal command sudo cp r.-1.-1.mca ../ The hard drive is working/thinking for a while, then spits this back out: cp: reading `r.-1.-1.mca': Input/output error cp: failed to extend `../r.-1.-1.mca': Input/output error I have another file behaving like this. My guess is that these files are corrupt, so I tried running the server in recovery mode and it told me to check the file system. However, it didn't come up with any errors. Is there a way to repair these files so I can use them normally again?

  • Failed to allocate memory - What is it trying to say?

    - by asprin
In my early days of programming I often used to get memory related fatal errors in the following format: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of <some big number> bytes exhausted (tried to allocate <some small number> bytes) in /path/to/filename.php on line <some line number> I'm a little embarrassed to state that even though I have figured out how to solve them and take steps to avoid them altogether, I'm still not quite sure what exactly does the message translate to in simple words. For example, if I get a message such as: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4000 bytes) in ........ on line 34 As things stand at the moment, I assume it to be stating that the script consumes 67108864 bytes of data, but only 4000 bytes are available during runtime. Am I right in my assumption? If not, what's the correct interpretation?

  • Ubuntu 14.04 not booting before Windows 8.1

    - by user280244
I try too boot my computer into Ubuntu, but I end up having to manually select Ubuntu from the devices menu, even though it was supposed to boot first. Instead Windows 8 boots up like Ubuntu isn't even there! And GRUB works just fine when Ubuntu is selected in the boot device menu. (How else am I on?) I tried using EasyBCD but kept getting errors from the windows boot manager. And just in case it helps, during installation of Ubuntu it didn't recognize windows 8, and I had to resize and install manually. Anything I can do? Notes: EVERYONE!!! GRUB WORKS PERFECTLY!!! IT IS AN ERROR IN THE HP BOOT MENU AS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY SAID!!! PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME ANSWERS FOR GRUB EDITS IN THE FUTURE!!! Here are my specs: PC type: HP 2000-2d49WM Notebook PC RAM: 4GB Swap: 2GB Processor: AMD E-300 Vision 1.3 GHz x2 BIOS Edition: N\A Until further notice

Finally I bought a usb stick but it won't boot dban or anything. I'm about to just smash this with a hammer. Help me start over.

  • What's the maximum filename length in encrypted ext4 partition?

    - by fdlm
I'm using a two-partition setup with ubuntu (one partition for the system, one for my home directories). Until now I had an ext3 formatted home partition, which I'm currently trying to migrate to an encrypted ext4 partition. However, when copying the files the system is bugging me with errors, complaining that filenames are too long. As far as I could find out using wikipedia filename length is 255 bytes for ext3 and 256 bytes for ext4. So where's the problem, and how can I solve it? Thanks!

  • Gnome/X logs off immediately after login -- which logfiles are relevant?

    - by joebuntu
I've been tinkering with fingerprint-gui as well as X/xrandr resolution settings. When I start my machine, it boots up normally. As soon as X and gnome have finished starting, it logs me off automatically and brings me back to the gdm login prompt with the user list. Then I am, however, able to log in using "Ubuntu Desktop Fail-safe". I've checked the list of start-up applications, but everything seems fine there. I can't yet put my finger on what exactly might be responsible for this: X, gnome or some messed up pam.d settings. So far I've checked /var/logs/X11/xorg.0.log, /var/logs/auth.log and ~/.xsession-errors. In addition, I don't quite seem to understand the "interplay" between X, GDM, GNOME, GNOME-policykit, PAM.d and all that. Are there any other relevant log files that could point me to what's broken? • Why are the proposed BADSIG (on apt-get update) fixes secure?

    - by EvanED
I'm running apt-get update, and I see errors like W: GPG error: http://us.archive.ubuntu.com precise Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <[email protected]> It's not hard to find instructions on how to fix these problems, for instance by asking for the new keys with apt-key adv --recv-keys or rebuilding the cache; so I'm not asking about how to fix these. But why is this the right thing to do? Why is "oh, I need new keys? Cool, go get new keys" not just defeating the purpose of having a signed repository in the first place? Are the keys signed by a master key that apt-key checks? Should we be doing some additional validation to ensure that we're getting legitimate keys?

  • variable declaration in javascript [migrated]

    - by ShaggyInjun
I have been doing something like this for a while and I have never seen any errors. But, unfortunately, I have never been able to explain why this works. The first line creates a variable which points to a function. The second line just adds func2 to func1 separated by a dot and defines a function. If I add a var in front of func1.func2 then I see a compilation error. func1.func2 = function(){}; Error SyntaxError: missing ; before statement var func1.func2 = function(){}; What type was func1 on first line 1 and what did it become on line 2. var func1 = function(){}; func1.func2 = function(){}; Thanks Venkat

  • After a domain change, what can I do to recover lost traffic, rankings, impressions etc? [duplicate]

    - by Felix
This question already has an answer here: How do I rename a domain and preserve PageRank? 3 answers I moved my site to a legacy exact-match domain I purchased about a couple of months ago. I have seen significant reduction in traffic, impressions, and rankings. I did all the right steps/best practices: change of address in GWT, map old site hierarchy and match to new site for 301 redirects etc. Indexation has gone through the Google process: old site has all but dissappeared from he index and new site is indexed, albeit with some 404 errors which I am addressing. Does anyone else who has gone through eh domain change process have any thoughts/advice? Thanks!

  • reinstalling totem 3.0.1 from source

    - by user1537727
I have totem 3.0.1 installed on my system, but I wish to install from source the same and when I do so i am presented with the following dependency errors. How can this be possible? configure: error: Package requirements ( glib-2.0 >= 2.27.92 gio-2.0 >= 2.27.92 gtk+-3.0 >= 2.99.3 gdk-x11-3.0 >= 2.99.3 gmodule-2.0 totem-plparser >= 2.32.4 gstreamer-tag-0.10 >= 0.10.26 cairo) were not met: No package 'totem-plparser' found Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables DEPENDENCY_CFLAGS and DEPENDENCY_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.

  • Dual 7950, freezes during startup

    - by Hiro
I have two identical video cards right now. Xubuntu will boot up no problem if I only have one card installed. If I install the 2nd card it will just hang midway thru the loading screen. Regardless of which card I use and which position on the motherboard, it will freeze if I have both installed. I've tried installing the proprietary drivers, both fglrx and fglrx-updates, still freezes in the same spot. Uninstalled those and went back to the default ones. The only way I can get a terminal is by booting into failsafe mode. Booting using 13.10 i386 on a USB stick gives me some errors related to what I think is the 2nd video card: [drm:r600_ring_test] ERROR radeon: ring 1 test failed (scratch(0x850C)=0xCAFEDEAD) [drm:r600_dma_ring_test] ERROR radeon: ring 3 test failed (0x02FFFF6B) radeon 0000:0200.2 disabling GPU acceleration"

  • How to load kernel from live cd on UEFI install of Ubuntu 12.10?

    - by Geezanansa
Running a GYGABYTE FM1 motherboard which is using a AMD 3870k APU with a new WS Caviar 1TB HDD. Following the advice in the Motherboard manual and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI have now got to grub screen for UEFI install. The dvd.iso being used is Ubuntu 12.10 desktop amd64. The hdd has had a gpt partition table made for, by using gparted when in a live desktop session(booted in bios mode)but decided to leave it unformatted with the intention of using installer to set up partitions. Booting live dvd gives grub list with the option to "install ubuntu" but get "can not read cd/0" and "the kernel must be loaded first" errors; when that option is selected. Any pointers on how to get installer going for UEFI install would be good. Thanks in advance.
